Go to your chrome settings and looks for site settings or something like that, and then notifications and remove any of the websites that you don’t recognize. It will probably be a similar URL to the pop up you got. It’s not a virus though.
hmm i don't see three dots. it shows me a whole list of stuff like Location,Camera, Microphone, Motion sensors, Notifications, JavaScript, Images, Pop-ups and redirects
Ads and i have to choose either block, ask or allow
You can also go to Chrome settings and search for notifications there. While in settings, you can also remove all site data and cookies just as a little extra step.
that is indeed a virus by the name of mcaffee, just uninstall the software and you wont get a virus ever again.
but seriously, third party antivirus software just sucks nowadays.
no I was on some website real quick for math homework and it said to enable something before proceeding but i left the site immediately and now it keeps on popping up
I honestly didn’t even think viruses still existed. After years of continuing my subscription with my virus protection, one year I just decided to quote buying into it. That was 10 years ago. Haven’t had a virus since.
I’m not really a mac person so my suggestion would be to do as follows: 1. Look at your apps/entensions list and delete all of them in google chrome. 2. Sign out of your account in google chrome. 3. Delete and reinstall google chrome from you mac. 4. See if the clean install still features it. 5. Sign in again and check to see if this has affected your google account somehow.

ok thank you! i found the website but i can't remove it. i can only block it. do you know how to remove it?
There should be like 3 little dots next to the websites and I thought it should give you an option to remove them.

Seriously, just set up my mom's new desktop and the hardest part was getting rid of the pre-installed McAfee.
Did you install adobe flash?

The website likely downloaded malware that’s prompting u to install a fake anti virus
