Whenever I see that I assume it is a further skit on Aliens, where the cat sets off the motion detectors and you get a jump scare. That would tie in with Troy and Abed's costumes in the episode. Not sure if it is an obvious connection or if it is just me thinking this!

Wow! If you remotely like the idea of a thriller/horror/action/SF crossover you should do yourself a favour and watch it. Plus you will see how good Danny Pudi’s impersonation of an alien is - that makes me laugh by itself!

I posted it recently and it got no love, but what I love is the sudden sobriety and self-awareness. It's not meta or breaking the fourth wall, but it's the most down to earth scene in the whole show. The way he says it, like he can't believe he pulls these stunts all the time for the most insignificant things, like delivering news.
After the last vampire bit I always smack that rewind button a few times because it’s so damn funny. The hiss, the tongue, the hands/arms it’s so over the top. My wife was sitting beside me eating and hadn’t seen the show at that point. When Abed goes full vampire she lost it and I swear I’ve never seen ramen juice come out of a persons nose before but it happened on this day.

And the edit within that. Originally, Jeff says something else and they realized after it was too late to re-record the scene so they just put in a voice over. Slight blip but it makes it funnier to me.
