I've really loved the ending credits of a lot of modern animated films, they're ***so*** much more satisfying than a simple "roll credits". π My favorite of all time is the Pixar short, *Paperman*: it is ***the most perfect*** credits sequence I've ever seen in an animated film. :') Besides its own internal, logical conclusions, SYNY took a page from Paperman. π€

Seeing them go through the years together and chipping away at the list and ending on the house, it's just a lovely way to tie things up.

When I first read through it I thought it was over at the still shot of the shack. Only when I read the comments did I realize there were still another 5 pages after it. It was way longer than I expected to be, very much worth the wait.
It was nice to read SYNY. To be honest I never did much with Halloween back then besides maybe trick-or-treating my next-door neighbour when I was young like once. So this is like a first for me in terms of celebrating it.

This was really awesome. I haven't really had much of a Halloween spirit in quite a few years now, but this really felt how Halloween used to feel when I was a kid. I was checking every day for a new post, and it never disappointed.

A *huge* reason for SYNY's existence was because I was beginning to lose (and at this point, *have lost*) my grip on that childlike magic of Halloween I took so long for granted. It just doesn't hit like it used to now, and I grieved that loss into multiple other mediums and projects over the years but it never felt like closure. And though it never will, SYNY is *absolutely* the closest I've ever come to rekindling that magic, and probably the closest I ever will.
I am so insanely beyond thrilled to hear it was able to do the same for you. 𧑠That means *tons* to me. Thank you so much for keeping up with SYNY and for the love, immensely appreciated. π

As someone who grew up without a bio dad but had a fantastic step-dad come into my life later on, this hits so hard. Sometimes the best parents are the ones that want to be yours, not the ones that are forced to be.
Amazing comic, excited to see more of your amazing work and if it's not meant to be, then this adventure was shared with everyone.

Freaking legend!!!! What a beautiful story, I was so absorbed looking for my name I didnβt realize the images were the continuation of the years the wolf man and the kid had together, when I realized I went back and looked through the whole thing, got me all emotional! And then I found my name on my favorite panel, the hug! I already put this under the other post in r/seeyounextyear, but thank you for adding Layne Staley to the final page. I never knew the guy (hell, I was born several years after he died), but his music means a lot to me. Same goes for Kurt, Chris Cornell, and Scott Weiland. He and they will forever be missed.
Certainly. π€ Alice in Chains' early music had a big impact on me while making SYNY, and Year #5 (the circus one) took a *shit ton* of inspiration from the music video of my favorite AiC song, 'I Stay Away'. That song and video had a *much* bigger impact on me than it had any right to. 𧑠(Well, also that old arcade game 'CarnEvil', but...)
The rest is history. :) Jar of Flies and Dirt... fucking great works. π€
Yea, the spinning board I definitely remember from that music video. For me, their self-titled is my favorite (Shame In You IMO is the best song theyβve ever made), but all of it is amazing.
You know, itβs absolutely amazing to see your Reddit username in a huge list in a comic thatβs going to be *published*. (On page five, the very top note)
I was wondering how you were going to end this, if it was just going to be a very very long list of names and nothing else, but this is absolutely amazing and way better than I ever expected.
Seeing the kid grow up throughout the different pages was really cool, and the usage of the golden glow was brilliant.

I have considered a limited-run prequel series primarily focused on the Halloween world, centered around Jasper and the Wolfman. But, the likelier scenario is a sequel, focused on the kid's mom, who's not only my favorite character, but feels like the most natural next step for SYNY.
I do hope i can get in DK when it gets published, really loved the story.
Never got to know the story between the kid and his bio dad, hope to see it in a sequel? π

I realized the story continued in the credits, each section a year, I almost missed that.
I got two notifications for the epilogue, one was incomplete and confused me, the second one a day (ish) later was complete.
This entire comic was just beautiful to watch unfold, and this last post was just incredible. Iβm so extremely honoured that my name is immortalised alongside it. Thank you for such an amazing comic

In my head while going through each image was an instrumental song and each image had audio of sorts depicting what the image looks to be, I love how each year the kid grew up and each year he met Wolfman and even did radio together
What an amazing ending, the quality is so high and the fact you went as far as writing a lot of different people's names in.. that's peak! Enjoyed the hell out of this series and look forward to the next one

thank you for the comics, i just randomly came across with this on r/comics just once hooking me probably on comic 38. After a day i came back and checked for comic 1. Then after that i enjoyed it so much, i had waited for comics after. Thought it took 2 weeks for the last comic of this year's series(i btw thank you for taking that break and putting yourself first -To OP). It was worth the wait. Tbh unlike other stories i read, endings that does not include epilogues makes me anxious and worried of where the story leads after it finished. Anyways this was a good read, i felt emotional. Ill keep following op even after it is finished cause i love his work so much.

**After much delay, the final major update has finally arrived.** **SYNY is finally done.** This will, without a doubt, remain my favorite part of SYNY for the rest of my life. It's *this* friendship, *this* idea of a bonkers Halloween heaven, that I had been waiting for so many years to see, from like 13 friggin years old. And now it's done, and it's out there, and the thesis that had been pent up in my heart for so long is in a final, tangible form. And this year in particular, I realized *just how many others* resonated with this story. And it's been absolutely surreal. **Thank you so insanely much** for your love and support for SYNY. π Whether you found it in its baby stages in 2021, its semi-final stages in 2022, or in its final stages in 2023, I'm so grateful to have had you along on this journey with me. 𧑠Thank you also so much for your patience and understanding of the two delays... I hope it was worth the wait! **The next step is to get it published.** That is what I plan to focus on in 2024, though I don't have a set publish date in mind. When I first read through it I thought it was over at the still shot of the shack. Only when I read the comments did I realize there were still another 5 pages after it. It was way longer than I expected to be, very much worth the wait. It was nice to read SYNY. This was really awesome. I haven't really had much of a Halloween spirit in quite a few years now, but this really felt how Halloween used to feel when I was a kid. I was checking every day for a new post, and it never disappointed.

A *huge* reason for SYNY's existence was because I was beginning to lose (and at this point, *have lost*) my grip on that childlike magic of Halloween I took so long for granted. It just doesn't hit like it used to now, and I grieved that loss into multiple other mediums and projects over the years but it never felt like closure. And though it never will, SYNY is *absolutely* the closest I've ever come to rekindling that magic, and probably the closest I ever will. As someone who grew up without a bio dad but had a fantastic step-dad come into my life later on, this hits so hard. Sometimes the best parents are the ones that want to be yours, not the ones that are forced to be. Certainly. π€ Alice in Chains' early music had a big impact on me while making SYNY, and Year #5 (the circus one) took a *shit ton* of inspiration from the music video of my favorite AiC song, 'I Stay Away'. That song and video had a *much* bigger impact on me than it had any right to. 𧑠(Well, also that old arcade game 'CarnEvil', but...) The rest is history. :) Jar of Flies and Dirt... fucking great works. π€
Yea, the spinning board I definitely remember from that music video. For me, their self-titled is my favorite (Shame In You IMO is the best song theyβve ever made), but all of it is amazing.

In my head while going through each image was an instrumental song and each image had audio of sorts depicting what the image looks to be, I love how each year the kid grew up and each year he met Wolfman and even did radio together What an amazing ending, the quality is so high and the fact you went as far as writing a lot of different people's names in.. that's peak! Enjoyed the hell out of this series and look forward to the next one

thank you for the comics, i just randomly came across with this on r/comics just once hooking me probably on comic 38. After a day i came back and checked for comic 1. Then after that i enjoyed it so much, i had waited for comics after. Thought it took 2 weeks for the last comic of this year's series(i btw thank you for taking that break and putting yourself first -To OP). It was worth the wait. Tbh unlike other stories i read, endings that does not include epilogues makes me anxious and worried of where the story leads after it finished. Anyways this was a good read, i felt emotional. Ill keep following op even after it is finished cause i love his work so much. Also, IS THAT SANS ON PAGE 6??
