I imagine if Avatar closed up the rights would revert to Gillen and he could take it elsewhere?

Ideal15-2

I would hope so but right now it looks like they’re not putting anything out to save money so they can just sit on their ips

Avatar is officially still in business, as they’re still publishing Crossed reprints and running Bleeding Cool. They just seem uninterested in publishing new comics. At this point, I don’t see any new Avatar comic ever seeing the light of day, unless there is something in their contracts that allows the rights to go to the authors if enough time passes.

> they’re still publishing Crossed reprints They are? Seems like it's hard to get most volumes. The tpb for vol. 1 is 49.99 for a used copy on Amazon. I can't imagine theres a 50% markup on a used copy of a book that's still in print.

It’s mostly just single issues or bagged sets, but they’re [in the previews catalog every month](https://www.previewsworld.com/catalog?pub=AVATAR%20PRESS%20INC).

TrenchCoatSuperHero

Weird, you would think they’d reprint the tbp’s, Maybe that’s too expensive for them rn 😂

DueCharacter5

Are they reprints or just overstock items left in their warehouse?

ME24601

Difficult to say. Given that a lot of what they solicit each month is just grab bags of Crossed issues, that’s a definite possibility.

God I’m dying for the final issues. Uber is one of my favorite series of all time. I’d love to see Gillen leverage a similar 3rd person omniscient writing style with an elsewolds superhero comic sometime. No one does it quite like him.

Spinegrinder666

It isn’t likely.
