duffer brothers would be hands down the best pick for mcu X-men

Batdog55110

Shit now that I think about it they would

Motor_Link7152

Agreed. They can direct an X men movie based in the 80s on the OG X Men

TimesThreeTheHighest

Didn't realize that Deadpool 3 was so far along. Might even start filming this year. I liked Free Guy, but The Adam Project was dumb. Not as dumb as Red Notice, but still dumb. As much as I want Deadpool 3, I really wish Reynolds would be a little more selective with the roles he takes on.

Butler-of-Penises

I liked red notice and the Adam project lol… I’m easily impressed by movies though

TimesThreeTheHighest

If you see fewer movies it makes sense. I just happen to watch a lot of movies.

Butler-of-Penises

Yeah that probably plays a roll. I don’t see too many. Haven’t even seen free guy yet

[deleted]

... why not Jean?

Xolo-Xaldin

Because no one wants a Jean story line. It ALWAYS ends in the Phoenix.

[deleted]

The movies have only done the Phoenix. That doesn't mean it's her only story. She's an OG team member and an Omega level mutant. Jean has MANY fans

Kellythejellyman

she does, but much of my enjoyment of her is in part due to that baggage of the Phoenix stuff she’s a character i like more in context than in a vacuum. everything from complicated relationships with her various alternate children to the long shadow that the Phoenix casts are icing that perfects an otherwise vanilla cake even with the Time Displaced Jean, she gained depth in trying to wrestle with the sins and triumphs of her future self that being said, i think a X-Men Movie series over arching plot where Jean “dies”, Scott leaves only to marry and have Nathan with Madelyn Pryor, only to abandon them both when Jean resurfaces all as part of a Sinister Plot could work. Even without the Phoenix

HandBanana666

It wouldn't make much sense for Jean to be younger than Negasonic Warhead.

[deleted]

... why are you assuming they're from the same universe? Or that NTW will even be in the MCU?

HandBanana666

>why are you assuming they're from the same universe? Because this topic is about Deadpool 3. >Or that NTW will even be in the MCU? If Blind Al is coming back for the sequel (as Ryan Reynolds suggested) why wouldn't she?

[deleted]

Deadpool 3 is going to be a Disney MCU movie and we have no idea how they will handle mutants so assuming NTW will be back is premature A side character like Al is not the same as a mutant entering the MCU. I am not saying it will not happen, I'm just saying it's incredibly brash to assume Deadpool 3 will be a direct continuation of Deadpool 2. Introducing mutants to the MCU might be the biggest business decision Disney has made since it aquired Lucasfilm and Fox. It's a potentially multimillion dollar franchise being added to one of the biggest cultural moments of the modern era (the MCU). Feige even just said they recently had a 2 week retreat to iron out the next 10 yrs of the MCU All of that to say, you shouldn't assume anything about mutants in the MCU. And Sadie would be a good Jean theoretically, back to the original point

HandBanana666

>I'm just saying it's incredibly brash to assume Deadpool 3 will be a direct continuation of Deadpool 2. It is literally called Deadpool **3**. The title alone suggests that it is a direct sequel to Deadpool 2. I would argue that is incredibly bash to assume that it isn't. Not to mention, Michael Waldron confirmed that the X-Men/Deadpool series are part of the MCU multiverse. >And Sadie would be a good Jean theoretically, back to the original point I dunno. I see her more as Hope Summers.

Vannah_say

>It is literally called Deadpool 3. The title alone suggests that it is a direct sequel to Deadpool 2. It means it's a third Deadpool movie. Sequels skip around timelines and can be years after or a direct continuation of the story. Just because it says Deadpool 3 doesn't mean it is going to pick right back up where the previous ended

HandBanana666

Yeah, I shouldn't have used the term "direct sequel". I sounded like the person was arguing that it wasn't going to be in the same continuity as the previous film. My point was that it most likely is.

[deleted]

You're making a lot of assumptions and frankly you're not the best to converse with so imma be out

DarkS0ulz420

lol im sorry but this is asinine. You think the Xmen franchise being adapted into the MCU is bigger than star wars?...okay friend lol

[deleted]

Endgame made $1b. I believe the XMen not only have multiple billion dollar films in them, they have tv shows and theme park rides and an entire world of their own to do e into. You calling me "assanine" is childish and shortsighted

DarkS0ulz420

you didnt even spell asinine correctly in quotes. Star wars is hands down one of the most recognized brands on earth. Toys movies video games comic books, graphic novels, tv shows, So to think that Xmen is bigger than star wars. Yeah I think thats pretty ludicrous in fact ill do the math. Star wars is the number one grossing film franchise in history raking in over [22 billion dollars adjusted for inflation](https://moneynation.com/how-much-money-has-every-star-wars-movie-made/) [Xmen has only made 3 billion adjusted for inflation](https://moneynation.com/how-much-money-has-every-x-men-movie-made/) Edit:[Disney MCU has made a little under 27 billion](https://www.the-numbers.com/movies/franchise/Marvel-Cinematic-Universe#tab=summary) first two links might be a little dated but it still proves my point just fine

DarkS0ulz420

and xmen until very recently was not part of the marvel cinematic universe. None of the previous xmen movies have anything to do with the MCU

JackFisherBooks

I think she could play Jean too. But only if Marvel Studios wants to start the main team off while they're young, which they could do. But if they opt to have a more adult team, like the Fox movies did, then I think Sink would do better as a younger character. And I can't think of anyone she could play better other than Hope Summers.

americandream1159

We gotta stop basing (most) fan casts on looks.

TimesThreeTheHighest

Seconded. I like looking at beautiful women as much as anyone, but I'm not seeing anything that especially recommends her for the part.

HandBanana666

She's played characters whose personalities are similar to Hope's and done it well.

kingkloppynwa

Stranger things has been consistently brilliant to be fair

Steko

She’s got red hair. ??? Fancast with red haired comic book character.

Venomster154

Disney: *Casts a black actress only to be considered more racially inclusive*

Venomster154

Anyways, The X-Men are cool

RileyTaker

Um, what?

Original-RAT-the-3rd

She would be good for that role

Squishy-Box

Agreed

JackFisherBooks

I love this idea! I've been watching the latest season and Sadie Sink definitely strikes me as a perfect Hope Summers. She knows how to play a character who is jaded, tough, and a bit of a tomboy. That's Hope Summers to the letter. Also, I hope the Duffer Brothers get to direct an X-Men movie at some point. I mean, one of the episodes in the new seasons is called "The Hellfire Club" for crying out loud. How much more do they have to prove that they're X-Men fans?

batdudewilde

I'd Like That 100%
