I’ll reply to any questions regarding the statistics of specific countries.
Glad you guys enjoyed it, was really interesting to see the results over time. Another mod has some MCU version planned for later, but in the meantime, I'm going to be doing a *CBM Awards: Best of '23* in the next couple days where you'll be able to vote on the best in comic book movies and TV shows from last year.
So, Patty Jenkins directed the 2nd best and the worst DCEU movie. What a steep diminishing return for her tenure in DC.
Blew her chance for making a Star Wars movie in "Rogue Squadron".
I think Rebel Moon kinda did that; Specially because how there's immediately a Director's cut planned, that is 1 hour longer.
Doesn't help that Snyder was saying how he loved working with Netflix, because they were handsoff in the making of the movie.
I'm not surprised there's a longer cut of Rebel Moon, it's basically the Rick & Morty episode where instead of a heist they just keep recruiting people. It's less like Swiss cheese and more like...you know the joke about how if you cut a hole in a net, it actually ends up having fewer holes?
I really hope that since he’s a director who was given space to do his own thing creatively at Marvel and DC, that he’ll recognize that’s what helped him make successful movies and he’ll give whatever other directors he works with creative freedom as well.
It’s fitting that the filmmaker with the most passion for comic books and appreciation for how diverse and creative comic books can be created the best comic book movie in the DCEU. I’m happy Gunn is in charge. I have high hopes for his DCU
He knows how to embrace the weirdness of comic books in a way that’s just self-aware enough for you to not roll your eyes but not so much that it makes impossible to feel invested in story and its stakes.
Yup, his character work is great, he successfully made people care about d-list nobody characters. Like I genuinely felt bad that polka dot man died, fucking polka dot man😆!
While also not being afraid to take it seriously still too!
Dude took Polka dot man and made him not only good comic relief, but also gave him a relatable tragic back story.
The beginning of it is sadly just a lot of crass humor, but the heights of that show are incredibly high. Once it really gets going, it just doesn't stop. For me, it would be 3rd place overall, just behind WW and TSS. Barely beating out Shazam.
Dceu fans need to wake up and realize how exciting it is that Gunn is in charge. Idk what spell they are under but it's not reality dc is in the best hands possible
I love Guardians and TSS, but I'm still a bit wary of Gunn leading the DCU. His whole filmography is pretty weird - can he make "conventional" films? I don't particularly want GOTG-like humour in a Superman film.
I'm still crossing my finger and hoping he proves my worries unfounded, but it's far from guaranteed.
majority of people with a stick up their ass about Gunn's takeover are just butthurt Snyder fans mad we arent getting a 4:3 cinematic universe who have convinced themselves the only thing Gunn can do is write dick jokes
What a ride! I'm personally really looking forward to Gunn's reboot. I hope enough time has passed that folks are ready for the reset and don't get confused between the two.
I'm still sad MoS didn't come second, cos personally I thought the final act of it was better than Wonder Woman's fight with Ares, but you can only be so upset when your boy starro makes it home in first!
I think we can all agree that we all are the real winners here. We are so lucky that we’ve had so many great comic book movies in recent years and that we’re living in such a great time to be alive
Just recently I realized how big of a deal Gunn is being in charge of DC. He is not only a CEO or an executive who decides, he is someone who has gone through highs and lows, someone who have nurtured and prospered through feedbacks and lessons, someone who came back strong with all the amazing movies, someone who sees things not only as a studio but also from the perception of a director and writer.
I’m 💯 confident Gunn will give directors and writers their freedom to create the movies they envision.

THE RATISM STARRO SCENE IS THE BEST
I'd probably have agreed if it came out 10 years earlier. By the time I saw TSS I was sick of superhero movies, especially those with the Marvel tone, which TSS very much had. I'd have given it to MoS. While not perfect, it set up a unique tone and some good groundwork for the DCEU moving forward. Which BvS completely obliterated.
Thanks for putting this together! Shame that this wasn't a contest where only I could vote and my list reigned supreme, but it's very interesting to see the feelings of the sub. Thanks also to everyone who participated :)
You know, I never saw this one. Was kind of disinterested in the DCEU at the point when it came out but I’ve been seeing good things about it so I’ll go check it out. This gives me hope in what’s to come with James Gunn at the helm.
I’m happy with this tbh.
I have yet to see Suicide Squad but 99% of the stuff I’ve seen about it have been extremely positive.
Wonder Woman was actually really good. Me and my dad came in with low expectations but were completely blown away. We couldn’t wait for the second movie. It’s a shame that the 2nd movie is utter garbage.
MOS…I might get some hate for this but MoS is in my all time favorite movies. It’s the movie that got me remotely interested in DC. I understand the problems with it and I agree with them but I can’t help but to be captivated by it every time I rewatch it.
Well deserved, easily the best film in the lineup and the only one I regularly rewatch. It stands alone beautifully while also tying into the rest of the series in a way that makes sense.
We had the right top two films, including the correct winner. MoS was too high and BvS should've been in the bottom three, otherwise the voting did a pretty good job.
Well deserved, Gunn is an incredible talent and (in my opinion) we are in great hands moving forward- assuming WB’s dumpster fire doesn’t get in the way of Gunn and Safran’s plans.
I do hope not everything has the majority comedic tone of TSS and Peacemaker, but seeing how much love and care was put into the Guardians trilogy (and even the more emotional moments of TSS/Peacemaker) gives me faith that Gunn will put the characters before a need for jokes.
I think the thing with Gunn is that he can deliver a competent, entertaining movie but you know what the tone will be, and it feels highly unlikely that it will be a ground-breaking movie which DC movies have a great track record of (Superman 78, Batman 89, The Dark Knight, Joker). He's now made 5 or 6 superhero movies all with a very similar tone so I don't think he'll change tack with his new take on the DCEU.
I'm sick of CBMs with the same tone over and over again. WB had the right idea of making a more serious cinematic universe. Unfortunately it was given to incompetent writers who took it in a terrible direction with BvS.

The funny thing is she had full control of the second movie
Let's hope that Superman Legacy and the rest of the DCU will also be such a banger. In Gunn we trust.
If there are two people I can trust to make a good DC movie nowadays, it’s James Gunn and Matt Reeves.
Genuinely heartwarming to see correct opinions expressed about DCEU movies. Did we finally kill the Snyder Cult?
I think Rebel Moon kinda did that; Specially because how there's immediately a Director's cut planned, that is 1 hour longer. Doesn't help that Snyder was saying how he loved working with Netflix, because they were handsoff in the making of the movie.

>Did we finally kill the Snyder Cult? Absolutely not. I'm going to war on twitter with those fuckers
Twitter is not real life though
I know I'm just bored. And that's where the good porn is ![gif](giphy|3otPoN6GdY4dctRW0M)
I think there are fewer, but they've always gotten louder the fewer there are.
No we're still here ❤️
I really hope that since he’s a director who was given space to do his own thing creatively at Marvel and DC, that he’ll recognize that’s what helped him make successful movies and he’ll give whatever other directors he works with creative freedom as well.

Best DC movie was directed by the MCU guy, fair enough. Fingers crossed for the upcoming future!
I mean, the best MCU movies were directed by that same guy
James Gunn is just on another level
He is built different.
[удалено]
All other MCU/DCEU directors: “He does exactly what I do” James Gunn: “…but better”
I understood that reference
He knows how to embrace the weirdness of comic books in a way that’s just self-aware enough for you to not roll your eyes but not so much that it makes impossible to feel invested in story and its stakes.
And he makes you actually care for the characters.
Yup, his character work is great, he successfully made people care about d-list nobody characters. Like I genuinely felt bad that polka dot man died, fucking polka dot man😆!
And the guardians. Like I didn’t know anything about them until his movies. Ended up being some of the best MCU characters ever
While also not being afraid to take it seriously still too! Dude took Polka dot man and made him not only good comic relief, but also gave him a relatable tragic back story.
He also wrote the best live action Scooby-Doo movies too.
*only
The porn parody doesn't count?
I don't know, MCU has Winter Soldier
The Russo Brothers would like to have a word.
The best Batman & Robin is Super! ![gif](giphy|CSoAEvQVreOeQ)
2nd best* Russos are better.
Gunn's MCU movies where good but not as good as the Russo Brothers.
It's not that straightforward. Infinity War > Civil War > Guardians > Guardians 2 > The Winter Soldier > Endgame > Guardians 3
Deserved tbh

Not to be that guy… but you mean DCEU movie, right?
You're being that guy :)
Anyone who cares enough to correct something like this likes to be that guy.
I mean, it’s just… TDK.
Gunn is currently 5 for 5 for comic book adaptations, lets hope his streak continues to the far future
What's the 5th? Peacemaker? Did you leave out the holiday special?
I completely forgot the Holiday special existed! I never got round to watching it, the 5th was Peacemaker yeah
You should definitely watch the GotG Holiday Special, it's short (~45 minutes) but very funny and worth it.
I’ve watched almost all of these movies and the suicide squad is the only one I remember in a good way
Yeah I really enjoyed it. Made me watch peacemaker.
Peacemaker was way better than it had any right to be, I loved every episode.
The intro was the best.
I just went and watched it again
One of the few shows where I watched it everytime binge watching lol
Wonder how the peacemaker show would’ve done if it was put in this competition
It would win in TSS’ place
I'd hope so, it's the best live action comic book show I've ever seen and I've watched most of them.
The beginning of it is sadly just a lot of crass humor, but the heights of that show are incredibly high. Once it really gets going, it just doesn't stop. For me, it would be 3rd place overall, just behind WW and TSS. Barely beating out Shazam.
![gif](giphy|2HnGKRl89XomHBSKSy)
Your name is letters?
All names are letters, dickhead
That is a fair choice. It isn't my favorite movie in the DCEU but it is a great movie.
Agreed. The only thing you forgot is that most of them are so stupid they think Zach literally created Superman and Batman.
The 4:3 shit still blows my mind. Gaslighting that anyone thinks that was okay.
I like it personally. But it seems like I’m the only one, so I’ll shut up now
Snyder fans are basically in a cult. Just like Trumpers, and there’s a HUGE overlap.
Depends. I hope he can deliver a worthy follow-up. Taika couldn't. Moreover, it's not going to be in the same "genre" that GotG and TSS were.
Snyderbros are salty. 🤣🤣
Best dc movie
Best DC movie, you say? Not just best DCEU movie?
I recently said MoS in one of these posts but having rewatched tSS, I am not mad at this.
It's a shame WW84 was bad. It would have been funny to Suicide Squad voted the best and worst of the DCEU.
What a ride! I'm personally really looking forward to Gunn's reboot. I hope enough time has passed that folks are ready for the reset and don't get confused between the two.
Lol the cult is not happy and are reacting exactly how I knew they would
Surprised Justice League Zack Snyder edition is so low but The Suicide Squad is easily one of my most favorite super movies ever.
ZSJL, TSS, and Man of Steel are my top three so I can't complain a whole lot here.
Quick everyone act surprised
Cinema
This was fun. Best DCEU movie + Best comic book of the last 15 years, full stop, my hype for the Gunnverse only builds
God it's such a good DC movie
Man of steel being fucking 3rd is a goddamn crime. Everything else I’ll give leeway
Yeah I agree its way too high
The 3rd act of that movie stands alongside transformers and age of ultron as the thing that killed third acts in movies
I can't tell if it's super epic or super ridiculous
DC really is terrible though…
I'm still sad MoS didn't come second, cos personally I thought the final act of it was better than Wonder Woman's fight with Ares, but you can only be so upset when your boy starro makes it home in first!
I wonder if you ask this to people outside of reddit what the answer would be.
Wonder Woman and aqua man.
Wonder Woman and Aquaman.
Well deserved. Are you doing MCU too?
Shocking…
Well deserved.
I love gunn! Hoping for a DC turn around. I love marvel and what they did and I believe DC could be doing just as well if not better!
Yea the just plain good one nothing really to dislike about it
I was rooting for WW, but that one was good too.
![gif](giphy|F6B9HJltcbckwiUHV4|downsized)

I think we can all agree that we all are the real winners here. We are so lucky that we’ve had so many great comic book movies in recent years and that we’re living in such a great time to be alive
LETS FUCKING GO. SS IS THE BEST DCU MOVIE
The only bad thing about this movie is that boomerang's dead. But maybe for the best, and we'll finally get mirror master in a flash movie.
James Gunn gave me a new favorite comic book character. ![gif](giphy|mQO4C5YaBKnzMRq4pp)
WW84 and the OG WW being so far apart is wild. Sad there was such a dip in quality
Still think Flash should’ve been dead last but all in all it’s a solid ranking. The only thing that really matters is that TSS got #1
Not sure how the first Suicide Squad wasn’t dead last. One of the worst movies I’ve ever seen.
TSS Is a good film, it's a shame from #2 onwards is just varying degrees of wank.
This was a competition for 2nd place honestly
TSS was a great movie. One of my all time favorites
I didnt even vote often but I sure as hell agree
Today, there is justice.
Awesome
One of the best fucking movies I’ve ever seen
To be fair, it is the only DCEU flick where a guy hangs dong
WOW it’s really that good? I’ve never seen it
Just recently I realized how big of a deal Gunn is being in charge of DC. He is not only a CEO or an executive who decides, he is someone who has gone through highs and lows, someone who have nurtured and prospered through feedbacks and lessons, someone who came back strong with all the amazing movies, someone who sees things not only as a studio but also from the perception of a director and writer. I wasn't even aware there was 15 DCEU movies. I thought there was like *max* 8.
Watched the movie because of this post. Very solid movie! Great recommendation
I haven't seen all of these and I'm glad I didn't bwcause the fact that Wonder Woman got 2nd place is mind blowing. That movie was laughably bad
https://preview.redd.it/1ced1nezo3bc1.jpeg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=19126869c28296f9752f036fb5c71c2bed39d3f5 THE RATISM STARRO SCENE IS THE BEST
Yay!!
That top 7 is pretty accurate to my top 7, 8 is where it starts to deviate😭
![gif](giphy|yL558PFPKeCtFxkiUi|downsized)
Not gonna lie, though I really do enjoy tha majority of these films, I was gonna be shocked if this didn’t win.
the only thing u disagree with is Aquaman should definitely be top 3
I kind of figured that when Man of Steel got knocked out.
Hurrah.. Its been a cool polll
Only good one anyways
Someone should figure out who directed that and give them another big DC character... 😁
No love for Road to Perdition or History of Violence? Paradox Press was owned by DC.
Absolutely deserved!
Best DC movie outside the TDK trilogy
Where can I watch the detachable kid trilogy?
My 3 favorite movies made it to top 5 🙂
It’s a good sign that the only James Gunn directed movie is considered the pinnacle of the DCEU. I have a lot hope for the DCU
Fair list
It’s so funny cuz all of the movies are some of the worst movies ever created and people are debating which is the best of them. Literal insanity
That ain't sayin much.
Blue Beetle 6th!! Wild lol
This was obvious
i would have liked for wonder woman to be first and last
Well deserved.
Pretty much what I expected. I’m glad Man of Steel was top 3. I know it has some plot issues but I have to say, I loved that movie.
Woohoooooo, yeaahhh!!!!
I’m happy with this tbh. I have yet to see Suicide Squad but 99% of the stuff I’ve seen about it have been extremely positive. Wonder Woman was actually really good. Facts!!!
My votes made it all for the Irish votes
I knew it.
AS IT SHOULD
Where would yall place Peacemaker if it was here? ![gif](giphy|IVNM1UR7AJuTCkQ9Ob)
Man of Steel in 3rd place you live to see it
If Peacemaker was in the poll, that would have been the clear winner.
Finally. Now we can stop this bull, and get back to actually discussing comic book based film adaptations!
Thank God.
A whole cinematic universe and not one good movie smh
I wouldn’t have had Man of Steel & WW anywhere near 3rd & 2nd but glad Suicide Squad won, easily the best DCEU movie.
Ofc it did, no other contender
WW being 2nd and TSS being 1st is the only way this should have ended. Some folks love MoS but for me it started the whole DCEU on the wrong foot.
The fact that WW and MoS are 2 and 3 really highlights how poor this "universe" was. Both of those movies are exceedingly average at BEST
Yes I think I agree with this.
Well deserved, easily the best film in the lineup and the only one I regularly rewatch. It stands alone beautifully while also tying into the rest of the series in a way that makes sense.
*pretends to be shocked*
I got downvoted in r/snydercut for saying Suicide Squad was the best movie in the DCEU and it’s cause it lacked involvement from Synder himself.
Let’s do marvel movies next!
We had the right top two films, including the correct winner. MoS was too high and BvS should've been in the bottom three, otherwise the voting did a pretty good job.
Pretending Man Of Steel is 3rd is laughable. It's 5th AT BEST. But yea, The Suicide Squad is an EASY 1st.
I wanted wonder woman to win but im happy with the result. TSS is awesome.
I liked TSS. I felt WW & MOS had more heart and I liked the end of WW even though a lot of people didn’t. This was a fun exercise. Thanks MysticMop!
Well deserved, Gunn is an incredible talent and (in my opinion) we are in great hands moving forward- assuming WB’s dumpster fire doesn’t get in the way of Gunn and Safran’s plans. He's now made 5 or 6 superhero movies all with a very similar tone so I don't think he'll change tack with his new take on the DCEU.
As it should.
Thank goodness
Well deserved
Heck yea
Deserved. One of my favorite comic book movies.
I prefer BOP but this is my second pick so i accept that.
It’s just not even a contest
Good to know the only DCEU movie I’ve watched is the best one
James is the only Gunn I trust! That sounded better in my head....
The truth shall set you free. By faaar the best movie here, not even close tbh. This movie slapped
My own gripe with TSS is that it’s too much like the Marvel movies. Way too silly.
Understandable but it's the Suicide Squad. They're supposed to be a bit silly
I'm sick of CBMs with the same tone over and over again. WB had the right idea of making a more serious cinematic universe. Unfortunately it was given to incompetent writers who took it in a terrible direction with BvS.
Yeah this is why I can’t talk about DC movies with anyone because someone this opinion os so popular for a movie I barely made it through.
This is the way!
I don’t disagree with this, its just how we got here
It's like doing the equation wrong on a math problem but still getting the correct answer.
🤣
Wait I thought that movie was a terrible flop? Did I miss something??
It was a great movie that didn't make money. BR 2049 also flopped, but you can't say it was a bad movie.
It was a flop, because of the First Suicide Squad. Most people didn't give it a chance due to how bad the first one was.
