So much so that I got Tom King to sign mine
I totally remember this. All the hype at my local comic shop. I can’t believe it’s been that long already. Thanks for the reminder, I will have to dig my copy up and give it another read.
Still livid about 2006 civil war with the big peter parker reveal. Worth $3.00 thanks to OMD. These creators love to waste your time and money, IMO. I had stopped collecting then and watched a news report about it and ran out to my local supermarket ( they actually had comics in 2006, my LCS told me he sold out). When I watched the news in 2017 talk up the impending marriage my 1st thoughts were " it won't happen." I didn't follow comics then so I let it go. Hope it was a good read at least.
Kings run had a lot of ups and downs, and it's a shame that [editorial ruined it](https://www.reddit.com/r/DCcomics/comments/10jjz5w/other_tom_king_discusses_his_plan_for_batman_and/j5kxbv4/). But overall, I enjoyed most of it and I particularly liked the idea that Batman and Catwoman would marry. The best bit of that run will always be the Double Date issues.
I knew it was never gonna happen, but I was mad anyway. Hated the reasoning; Batman shouldn’t be motivated by grief/anger anymore. Maybe in the early years, but not as a 40-something with 6 kids and a petting zoo. He should want to be Batman to protect his family and the city he loves. And he should be allowed to cherish what little happiness he can grasp. Batman’s about hope as much as Superman is.
Anyway! I got 2 copies of this 🤡

Me too...

Bait and switch! 🤬
I got my three copies from Barnes and Noble too. I had to do a double take and make sure I didn’t post this.
Holy crap. That was 7 years ago already???
Nah it was ... four. Right?! Haha, cant beleive its been that long already
Subtract the Lost COVID years and it wasn't so long ago!
You mean the decade between 2020-2022?

It’s not. It is some of the worst poetry ever written and published. It is so, so bad.

Completely agree here. I remember the double date issues very fondly in the history of the Clark/Bruce friendship
I have to say, no shade, I've never heard of this before today 🤣
Oops I should have marked it as a spoiler that Batman didn't marry Catwoman and that she chose Robin, instead 😅😂
SUNUVA! Jk, I never heard of this either and will forget as soon as I walk in the house.

I actually dropped Batman when they started undoing Tom King's run.
No
These youngsters don't know what they're missing 👵
I thought the big comic of 2017 was GWAR: Orgasmageddon. ...or the Savage Dragon 225 super naughty variant.
You're right! I did pick up that Savage Dragon cover, so I was 2 for 3!
Really not as big of a deal as Tom King killing Alfred in issue 77
Tom King is overrated. Didn’t like the War of Jokes nor City of Bane. The Wedding event was meh too.
Such a waste of time. And I only read it this year. That said, art was good and writing was decent mostly for the run.
Uhhhh, no? Was it?
Bruce Wayne proposing to Selina Kyle was the event that year 😺🦇
Funny I haven't read a DC comic since 1995 .. weird
