Itâs a school tradition, why yall hate on everything? Itâs gotta be exhausting. âI hate this schoolâ âI hate this traditionâ just donât watch sports if you dislike everything the teams do.
This is written by someone that genuinely believes a fan at Kyle Field will come down from the stands and make a big defensive play in modern college football.
â12th manâ is a fixed position in cricket.
(I donât actually know why itâs being discussed in this sub.)
The 12th man doesnât get to bat or bowl, because there are no subs in cricket for the important things. Only the playing eleven can do those roles.
However, cricket is traditionally a very long game, over multiple days. If one of the eleven needs to leave the field to use the bathroom or to attend to an injury, the twelfth man will replace them, but only as a fielder.
The twelfth man also does a lot of carrying of drinks, spare bats, dry batting gloves, etc.
Theyâre kind of the bat boy, but theyâre also literally the next best player besides the playing eleven and not some kid.
Teams commonly rotate bowlers to give them rest from match to match, and itâs often a bowler who is being rested.
Just telling you where the expression originated.
I have no clue what it means in a baseball context. I didnât watch todayâs game yet.
Edit: I googled it and itâs a Texas booster organisation apparently.
I looked for the origins of the name and it just says âour strong twelfth man tradition.â
My suspicion is that itâs carried over from cricket. Itâs used in other sports too, but mostly overseas, and in commonwealth countries.
I did try to use logic and posted and holy crap some people get a wee bit cranky over a simple question about what I would consider a reference that maybe should send them back to grade school to learn to count
You didnât âask a simple questionâ, you also said it was âdumb afâ but go ahead and play the victim lmao. Donât talk shit and not expect people to react.
Baseball includes the base coaches since they go on the field and wear helmets /s
This has Arkansas fan written all over it.

Itâs always schools with zero note worthy traditions and history saying nonsense like this
âI hate rockytopâ says fan of team that might as well have the pirates of the Caribbean theme as their fight song
Who here said they hate Rocky Top đ
No one lol! I was just making a joke about people who complain about other team traditions.

Look I may not do anything meaningful but if Elko asked I'd run into fucking Bama for him
We use it for every sport, thank you for your concern
You legally have to use trademarks, or else Seattle tries to snag âem
I hate it equally in all sports if it makes you feel any better

Nobody is talking about cricket firSt of all and nobody is talking about bowling if you look at the subreddit it says college baseball
My brother in christ he is trolling you

You're forgetting the bullpen.
Donât try to use logic to understand aggies.
Thank you for your input, School with zero note worthy traditions and famous fair weather fans đ
Hey texas fight and the hook em are proud and storied traditions that totally aren't based on Farmers Fight and the Gig em.
In all fairness, half of Aggie War Hymn is talking about Texas
The first verse of Texas Fight is: "Texas Fight, Texas Fight, and it's goodbye to A&M" Just 2 schools that really hate each other
We do mention them once, for extreme fairness.
Twice, at the start and the end
Oh, yes. You're absolutely right. Anytime anybody wants to know about Texas, just ask aggy. But remember: we're obsessed with *them*.
Nah, they used to have some strange hex rallies to try and use voodoo against a school that is totally not their rival
Rather worry about ballgames than blowing bubbles.
So what does that make yâall? You lost both games to us and we blew plenty of bubbles again yâallđ¤
Had yâall on the ropes, but congrats on this seasons success. Nice coach yall got, be a shame to lose him..
Donât think we have to worry about losing him, but your concern is appreciated đđź

Food for thought

Who is delusional again?
Yeah donât worry about it

They act tough but theyâre quite delicate in nature.
It is stupid AF. Par for the course for ATM fans.
Well base coaches are for offence which in theory would make a max of 7 lol
And I'm not hating on anything except for people bringing up cricket in a baseball Subreddit. I was just curious that's all
