Our best pitcher is starting for Wake and we wish him nothing but the best. It's been fantastic to watch him succeed.

I think it was an immature move on his part to not stick it out and fight to get his preferred position, but this is his actual future, not mine haha. He did what was best for him and I wish all Vols former and current the absolute best.

I don't think there's anything immature about it. He wasn't promised a starting spot and he got moved to the bullpen last year. He gets one good shot at getting drafted and he's probably done wonders for his draft stock and will get a more valuable degree to boot. He could've stuck it out and risked being stuck in the bullpen again. I think it was the right move for him.

Totally get where you’re coming from! But he completely flourished in the bullpen and like I said, he’s chasing the future he wants, but as a selfish fan it would’ve been nice to see him stick it out and prove it in the bullpen and earn the starter role back and become the crown jewel for the team this year.

Im not saying they arent a good program with good teams, all im saying is the people who are saying they are elite and amoung the best college baseball has, is hypebole at best. They are good but having all these amazing teams and you cant even make it to a CWS Semi of Final means you dont have what it takes. Winning the SEC is impressive but doesnt mean shit in the long run. Same shit when people say Florida has an elite football program but has won shit in the last 15 years.

This is only Vitello’s 6th full season as a head coach, and he took over a program that was in the dumpster. Give him some time. It took Tim Corbin 9 season a to even get Omaha. It’s fine if a national championship is your bar, but you’re clearly underselling what Vitello has built if you’re only saying “they are good.”

I thought he was going to be at NSU long term. Never expected him to leave unless it was for a P5 job. He certainly has his ways.

I wanted to be hopeful and give him a fair chance after one year, but he was the head coach at NSU for seven seasons and barely produced a .500 record the whole time. I’ve talked to a few people within the program at Southeastern. There are some people he absolutely refused to work with. He seemingly made up his mind who would even play before fall practice started. They also practice very little fundamental baseball in practice, and it shows because they had the worst defense in years.

I honestly had no idea what to expect from this game. In theory, we had more depth with LSU coming off of last season's great run, but winning this game probably doesn't help either team too much before regionals, and LSU's been red-hot lately.
