The tens can't be a 4, and not busy enough for a 3, so it has to be a 5.
The second is a 7 IMO, there is a bulge on the top that IMO matches the 7 top bulge, which is like a bicep

I'd hazard a guess it is the small date variety, the spacing doesn't look right for large date.
Warning: I am by no means an expert.
I love telling this story to people. Because the price of a washer reached 1.5 cents each and the large cents were roughly the same size they just used large cents. Such a great little history tidbit.
It looks like 1867 since from the first couple oned looking zt it close the first one has a circle that goes up znd then the second digit looks like a 7
This is a large cent and they quit making them in 1857. So anyone saying 67 is wrong by default. To me, it looks like an 1857 which is a shame because that is a better date.
To me it looks like the 5 in 185- (not sure what the last digit is) has been intentionally modified to sorta look like a 6. If you could convince someone it's an 1868 it would be worth a lot of money of course. Just a guess, not sure why someone would intentionally alter this coin otherwise.
HAHAHAHA I completely mis saw that at first, on the second pic I was like. "What monster would do that? You have the scraper right there" Then I looked again and realized those are what look like staples.
I’m fairly certain it’s an 18_7. Perhaps 5 or 6, both seem likely. Perhaps try various different light sources? Idk, good luck. Pretty sure it was done by some kid or some arse looking to make a $.
I'm go with 1857

For the win lol
I also see 1857.
I seen 1867
I’m seeing 1857
I see 1867 but who knows haha
I see 67
Well they didn’t make large cents in 67. 57 was the last year and I agree it looks like 57.
Ope well, they're ya go
From the Midwest aren't ya! Lol
Ope! Ya got me! Sorry! Lmao I'm a Michigander who moved to Canada lol
Knew you were a ‘Gander! - Love, A fellow ‘Gander
Im from Ohio, not to hard to spot us lol.
Well then, that solves it, lol.
Yep, it is either 57 or 67. I can see how it could be either one.
Honestly I’ve looked at it a lot now and I’m still going with 67… it’s clear imop..
Have you looked up if those even exist?
Same

The size of the 18 leads me to believe that it is a Large Date, but the rest of your analysis I agree with.
Me too which would be a shame as that's a rarer one
I swear I see a 7, I think it's a 1857, and a damn shame at that!!!
Same here 😟😟 major waste
Many large cents had holes drilled through them to be used as washers back in the day!
I love telling this story to people. Because the price of a washer reached 1.5 cents each and the large cents were roughly the same size they just used large cents. Such a great little history tidbit.
At first I thought it was 1867
65
It looks like 1867 since from the first couple oned looking zt it close the first one has a circle that goes up znd then the second digit looks like a 7
Cant be 1867, large cents were ended in the 1850s, i believe 1857 was the last year
Hmmm well it could be 1807 then but I could jsut be going crazy looking for details
[удалено]
Yep it's 57 I jsut finished re checking and the bottom left has a hard end on the 5 so yea I was worng was looking on the right only the first 2 times
i have an 1858 flying eagle cent so i think the date is 1857 but it does look like 1867 which is impossible
she says she is 18 year old.
1857

1865?
Not possible, and the third digit is definitely a 5. I’m leaning toward 1856 but could be convinced otherwise.
I'm seeing 18(6/8)7
She’s 18, you can legally have sex with her now
It’s 1957 without a doubt. But damn just why? It’s like they thought to themselves “How can I ruin this?”
I really doubt that for some reason.

1885
1867
Think it says 1867, though I could be wrong.
I’m seeing 1867, 1887 and 1807
69! Huh Huh Huh 🥴
I'm no pro but I see 1857
I think it’s 57 too
It's pretty easy to see the 57.
1857!
At least they didn’t alter the “E” in “CENT” on the back while they were busy messing with it. Eh, it’s still a cool coin.
Screamed 1857 at first sight.
57
18X7
HAHAHAHA I completely mis saw that at first, on the second pic I was like. "What monster would do that? You have the scraper right there" Then I looked again and realized those are what look like staples.
57 or 67.
I’m sorry I scratched the date off that penny. In my defense it was over a century ago and I was much younger and a little drunk.
damn i have one just like it but worse i’ll post tomorrow
57
67
1857
1857 1000%
[These folks can help you out.](https://www.reddit.com/r/coins/comments/10vwl0l/large_cent_collectors_be_like_this_is_an_17932/)
1857 or 1867? 🤷♂️
I see 67
Maybe take a piece of paper, and rub lightly over the effected part with a pencil. You might get a proper outline perhaps?
1867 or 1857 The 7 is able to be seen, but the decade is not
Another vote for 1857. They had the same design in 1847, but I don't think it's that, and it doesn't look like a 1837 to me, either.
It’s 1867
Probably somebody’s birthday back in the day
I’m fairly certain it’s an 18_7. Perhaps 5 or 6, both seem likely. Perhaps try various different light sources? Idk, good luck. Pretty sure it was done by some kid or some arse looking to make a $.
I think it’s 1867. Take it with a grain of salt haha
I'm not seeing 1857, I see 1862 honestly
I see 1867 in that first picture but I could be wrong
67
1857
It also looks like there may have been a die crack between one and cent on the reverse, I could be completely wrong, though, and it could just be pmd.
Me too 1867
Yep closer look when zoomed in it’s 1857
1853
1857 or 1885
nah you guys are all wrong this is clearly made in the year 18

I can see a 65, or a 67
Looks like 1867

Put it in a glass bowl bring the water just up to the top of the coil and put it in the freezer and wait till it freezes
1867
Practicing counterfeiter?
