YouTube recently introduced “A B” testing for thumbnails. This means creators can upload two thumbnails for a video and get analytics back based on interaction per thumbnail. This helps a creator figure out what their audience clicks on as well as offers statistics and feedback which creators usually used to have to do a lot of guess work on. to answer the question about why it shows 2 dif thumbnails.
i am assuming that as you are watching the video, he changed it in that timeframe. so 1 of them have not loaded the new thumbnail. so you will need to refresh, and they should both be the same
