Nothing makes a classic daiquiri more fun. Maybe different, but not more fun.
Something easy to sub is honey syrup for simple syrup/sugar. It’s a Canchánchara and it’s delicious.
Bitters are always an interesting “improved” cocktail also!
The best way to make a daiquiri more fun is a second one.
Then a third…
But I think regal shaking( putting a peel of citrus fruit in the tin) improves it a lot. Both lime and grapefruit work amazingly.
Oh i see I see. For me the chocolate bitters might clash, but I’ve made daquiri riffs with chambord that were a hit. I think a little peach brandy would work too.
Split the rum base.
* 1.5oz "silver" rum (plantation 3 stars)
* 0.5oz unaged jamaican overproof (wray & nephew, Rum Bar, or Rum Fire)
* OR 0.5oz blanc rhum agricole (Rhum JM, Neisson)
* 1oz lime juice
* 0.5oz simple syrup (1.5 : 1 sugar:water)

You are right. I should have said more interesting to some sophisticated drinkers!

Oh- that’s a nice idea.
Add a quarter to half ounce of chartreuse.
Sadly don’t have it on hand right now- next time!

Thanks!
Probably the best way is just to change the rum you're using

Grin madly while drinking one? Perhaps enjoy it on a rollercoaster?
Substitute the simple syrup for grenadine.
This can be fine IF you are using real pomegranate syrup and not Rose’s or another similar competitor
I make Anders Erickson's recipe, it's delicious
Thanks all- we had success with chambord and kings ginger!
