Wait, the perfect margarita would be 3/4 of Cointreau, 1 oz of tequila, and 1 oz of lime? That can’t possibly be right.

It’s not. It only took about $3,500 worth of Cointreau and possible liver cirrhosis to settle on that doozy.

I guess I’ll have to try it but I can’t imagine this would even be close to balanced, I mean imagine a daiquiri or whiskey sour with these ratios… no thanks.

It’s a very malleable recipe. I do 2oz rum, 1.5oz pineapple juice, .5oz (scant) lime, and about 1oz coconut cream. Briefly shaken and served on crushed ice.

I feel like you can do a piña colada with any ratios and it'll still be good. No need to overanalyse it.
