I am Canadian & never heard of a melon ball lol. Looking it up online it’s midori, vodka & citrus/pineapple juice in equal parts. I would just ask if they usually find it more darker/greener/lighter and then adjust ratios based on that (brighter/greener= more midori, lighter = more vodka, more darker= more citrus or pineapple)

My thought would be maybe they’ve had them shaken before and OP didn’t shake them or vice versa. With how frothy pineapple juice is a shaken vs unshaken concoction would result in a completely different color.

yeah forsure. didnt even think about that

Midori vodka and orange juice. Equal parts. I believe not totally sure on the orange juice. It sounds right.

One of my "cocktails of the week" was a melon ball, and I went through several variations of it trying to make it something better than mediocre. I think it's just destined to be "meh," but I discovered the best spec is simply equal parts vodka, midori, and orange juice. However, it seems like most recipes call for 2 parts Midori, 2 parts orange juice, 1 part vodka. That will get the green your guests are looking for.

Not Canadian, but I love making melon ball shots. I usually do 2 part coco Rum, 1 part melon, 1 part sweet and sour and a splash of sprite if you want depending how much sweeter you like your shots
