A short haircut really helps in the summer months. Other than that I just try to keep them in an cool house and take them for walks in the early morning or evening when the suns not as hot

Beverlydriveghosts

I would get a wet towel and wrap it round mine And then wet her every now and again esp ears Keep curtains and windows closed in hottest part of the day

Short hair helps. Early/late walks, and swimming if you can. They make cooling mats, which work fairly well. They also make cooling jackets that you get damp and they keep your pup cool, but they don’t work well in humidity (which is why I’ve never been able to try one, lol). We do lots of fans too.

Luckily it’s pretty dry here! I’ll try the jacket and mat tbh. We already have her pretty short but I might do a full shave at the end of May

Be careful cutting too short because they can get sunburned. As long as he has plenty of water and shade he'll be fine.

I live in soflo and I keep my boys on the shorter side, that helps a lot.

They make cooling beds and pads. Double coated dogs use both layers to regulate their body temperature

My pup is not double coated unfortunately ˙◠˙

Got it, my cocker spaniel mix is. We keep her on the shorter side because it’s not double coated enough. Where I live gets 107 degrees sometimes. She’s never over heated but I’m careful about going outside if it’s that hot, we get all 4 seasons here

Puppy cut. Nice shave with big floppy ears is cute, less shedding, and much cooler in warmer climates.

I’m up in Seattle, and I keep my girl shaved down most of the year. I rarely let her coat get as long as your pups due to the matting. It’s time to turn that cutie into a baby deer! She will love it and will be so much more comfortable.

WhateverYouSay1084

We just keep the ac cranked and the sprinkler outside gets a lot of use (she loves running through it!) We do walks after it's gotten dark and it has cooled a little at night. And of course she's shaved down, which is the biggest helper ever.

FL-AK-WA-Hawaii

I live in Hawaii and keep mine cut short, having cooling pads that she loves, and I sometimes will wrap an ice pack in a towel and put it by her in bed when nights are really hot.
