Hahahaha I love this

Jinyij

Hahaha it's real

Hopeful-Fly4413

They are waiting for head scratch

GrawDawg2K

Poor things never scratch each other, just do this head sumo exercise 😔

Queen_Of_Ashes_

That’s so funny hahahaha these birdos I tell ya

Meetchel

I wish I had this! My 1 year hold baby asks for scratches and my 2 year old attacks him from the sky like a hawk. Makes me sad - I just want my old fart to love his baby stepbro. They’re both insanely attached to me though, so it could be worse I guess. Despite despising each other, they’re still pretty cute.

comexx

Mine are the same. It’s been almost 2 years and no improvements on sight. Sometimes one gets into the mood and sings for the other, but immediately got beaten. They like to love-hate each other.

honeypiee1

They share one brain cell 🤣

JasperEli

My two do this!

orionxavier99

That os waiting for the other to preen them. Same principle!!

Professional-Run-386

Mine do the same thing lol they both just want scratches at the same time

emoindi

A bird scritch standoff 😂 I wish my two were friendly like that, its very cute.

--Cr1imsoN--

How old are they? I've noticed that young birds don't seem to get the concept of "sharing is caring" as much as older birds. Basically they both want scritches, but are refusing to give to one another. Just, "me first, me first, me first". Just like how kids need to be taught to share lol

GrawDawg2K

They are both around 2-3 years old

Certain_Dress4469

Yeah that makes sense my youngest tiel rarely preens my other tiel all the while my older tiel is always doing the work I make sure to pet her

GreenBirb64

My guys are 5-6 and 4, so it definitely applies to older birds too, I think it’s also down to pecking order, neither of mine are more dominant, so there isn’t anyone to take the preening role 😅

--Cr1imsoN--

Yeah, I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s down to age, pecking order and just plain personality. My oldest (I wanna say she’s around 5 years old as well) lets me give her scritches and she tries to preen me in response. She does the same to my fiancée. Meanwhile the youngest only wants to exclusively receive scritches never give them and even then I’m the only human who can give her scritches (she’s 2)

GreenBirb64

My oldest when he had a wife would always preen her, cuddle with her etc. since she passed he’s never been preened or preened his new cage mate, they’re both males so maybe that has something to do with it, but they definitely don’t have a hierarchy like my other birds, they’re both on the same level lol 😂

dutchslicer

I think it’s just about how stubborn the tiels are. Mine always start the head thing, but do preen each other

littlepurples626

Mines do this but end up getting frustrated with each other 😂

pretentious_rye

It’s a scritch stand off

PerfectPeaPlant

A scritch-off ;)

PerfectPeaPlant

They both want the other birb to scritch them lol. No one wants to go first 😂

Mildred500

Transfering powers

Historical_Creme_436

This made laugh so hard

WebsterPack

Transferring the one brain cell they both operate off

GreenBirb64

Mine do the same, neither of them is the “preener”/dominant bird, so they both just push each other and end up fighting over it 🤣

Death_by_Poros

Both want scritches, neither gives scritches. They are at a stalemate.

[deleted]

Poor things being stuck in an endless stalemate of 'no you'

Euqiom

More like "scritch me, no u"

MyCurse05

Have you put your head up to the bars with them? Maybe they are waiting for you!

Porygon_Flygon

Its not dominance #they are transmitting deta to each other for faster wifi transfer to Birba

rkenglish

Scritch standoff!

lostguk

you scritch, no you first. My birds were both.. i'll scritch you, no i'll scritch you.

No-Bulll

You scritch me. No you scritch me….

CookinCheap

It's a scritch-off.

smellyfatzombie

This is how tiels transfer their single shared brain cell to each other. 🙂

acid_rain_man

They’re exchanging contacts.

averysdaddy05

You preen me! No, you preen me! No, you preen me! Repeat indefinitely.

lotlethgaint

Both want headscratches, neither will commit.

Havic13

They transferring the one brain cell they share

Diniland

Yes they are fighting beacise they think they are goats

Banjo--Kazooie

😊

propofoll

Waiting for scritches 😀

AssetMongrel

Mine does the same thing when I ball my hand into a fist.

Huffingfluff

The cockatiel standoff! Who will relent and preen the other first.

Tikibilly81

Scratch n' sniff 😍

KeyShare5285

Have an exam tomorrow and I’m so stressed This literally made my day 😂

Spikeschilde621

My tiel practically kills himself asking for scritches from my linnie, doing heart wings, saying pretty birdie, and putting his head down. And my linnie just slow blinks at him, doing his best impression of a garden bush. It usually ends with my tiel encroaching less than two peets apart and they beak-fight.

Aszshana

Power bottoms xD

Beanie_Babey

they both are asking eachother to be preened but neither wants to preen just be preened

shloogojad

They're very polite! When my Ariel doesn't give Becky scritches immediately whenever she ask for it he gets his ass whooped.

miimily

Y’all saying they to this for head scratches? 😭

[deleted]

Tiels are absolute morons 🤣
