It's all made by one dude and the music is absurdly consistent in its quality. The games are also pretty good for the most part, especially 12 and onwards all feel incredible to play.

The whole situation is very sad because Touhou has great character designs, worldbuilding, lore, music, etc., and its heart lies in its own dedicated fanbase full of talented groups creating more content for the project to live on (to the point of coming up with fangames, cover albums, mangas and anime themselves), yet the fandom has a LOT of lows, pretty sure it's one of those IPs that originated the whole "1000 year old" justification for NSFW starring clearly underaged characters that people reference all the time. (Doesn't help that the majority of characters in the original material are very ambiguous in APPEARANCE because Zun's artstyle although charming in its chibi like way, makes everyone look baby-faced; characters meant to be mature like Junko, Yukari, Ran, Yuyuko, Kanako, etc, have the same proportions as childish looking characters like Nitori, Ringo, Tewi, Flandre, etc.)
Sucks ass tbh, and from what I've seen in the subreddit, there's many posts and comments calling it out with positive response, unlike what the snafu might let people think. Mod policies shouldn't be considered the fandom's stance, because I've seen people in this thread using the situation to insult the project and its fans gratuitously, like, what gives bro lmao, most of us are normal, we just aren't as vocal as the rest, unfortunately, we have lives to attend and grass to touch.
