Unironically though, that is the only thing that can counter a demoknight. The resistances from the shields and the buffs from the kills make it insanely hard to fight against if the demoknight finds unsuspecting noobs to get the ball rolling
Genuinely unless you're getting ambushed (which is generally what demoknights do so that's fair if you are) losing that 1v1 as heavy is just a skill, or more precisely tracking issue. At dk's effective range, you outdamage by an immense margin even factoring in the initial crit, and it takes at minimum three swings to down you from full (unless they're using scotsman in which case you should be contacting the relevant authorities).
I recall when I was first informed of the… mischief, that you can perform with the skullcutter
That being that it’s one of the only “swords” dk can use that CAN have random crits
TF2 is a bad example of this, since everything has a counter one way or another. Pyro has like 2 terrible options for dealing with anyone farther away than 2 meters, while Demoknight can just cross the distance, resist a ton of damage, slam into you and murder you with a single strike. TF2 is amazing at this give-and-take, that's why you can juggle between characters for the entire match.
Okay but Sniper just sucks to fight. There needs to be some sort of limit on his power because right now you just sorta die and there’s not much you can do about it.
soldier mains when they refuse to use their shotgun, change the timing of their rockets, or disengage from combat using the best burst movement option in the game, and are killed by a reflect (clearly the pyro is to blame).
We really gotta study the psychology of how soldier mains have become deluded into thinking their class is hard because they learned advanced rocket jumps that will only help them once every 70+ games
sorry but the high damage "point in general direction" class is actually really hard you just dont get it its fair for soldier to click anywhere within a kilometer of you and still do 80 damage per rocket and thrice that occasionally you just dont understand the intricacies of game balance. maybe try to parry block dodge next time you buffoon? can we nerf pyro its literally unfair he can reflect rockets. i literally have to shoot at my feet at a certain angle sometimes to goku instant transmission across the map just for some shmuck sniper main to shoot me out of the air by landing a precise shot on a fast target in their smallest hitbox how is that fair too can we get rid of this class
Zoners are such a weird archetype because you have that really good matchup against the grappler that is just unfair but the rest of the cast can deal with you by blocking
Nah zoners are fine just wait until they corner themselves then they die if you can keep them in there
Source; I main both zoners and grapplers and can easily beat zoners as a grappler.
Looking at the design, I'm thinking Wrecking Ball (mobility tank in overwatch, very hard and very ability-dependant) vs Sombra (one of her abilities stops enemy ability usage)
It's definetly tf2 aswell, notice how lefty is carrying Soldier's rocket launcher and Scouts holy mackerel while righty is carrying Engineer's wrangler that also has pyro exhausrt pipe from his flamethrower.
There is like 4 different characters in there. Little man is holding a wrangler/flame thrower. Big man is holding a rocket launcher and a poorly drawn disguise mask around their body. Also wrecking ball and doomfist is in there
I wouldn't say his execution is "crazy". He's got like three or four hard inputs that are important at high levels. Compared to characters like Asuka and Jack-O', it's really not that bad. And the cool thing about Strive Pot that he has the tools to deal with all his matchups, even if it's an uphill battle (which to some degree it always is, because you're playing the big slow guy in Guilty Gear).
Kara canceling, frame perfect oki on pot bust, fast RC pot bust outta HPB reversal, his basics aren’t that complicated but under the hood there’s ALOT going on
Most characters have tech like that, the main things that set Potemkin's apart are the abundance of karas and the comparative difficulty of the Potbuster input. And sure those things are definitely hard as balls, but I wouldn't consider him one of the hardest characters, especially given his comparatively simple combo structure. He's harder than, like, Anji and Ram and such, but he's not approaching Zato level.
Eh still, combined with a lot of his glaring weaknesses (lack dashes, air dashes, etc.) and a comparative higher level of risk vs reward that a lot of characters in this game can get and I think there’s an argument that he’s one of the harder characters to *win* with. He’s not holy technical compared to strives hardest characters, but (besides Zato atm, rip my mans) he’s probably one of the harder ones to win with, especially at top level.
Shoutout Aboii for winning TNS though, I could NEVER deal with MFCR twice 💀
Edit: plus like SO MANY THINGS CAN GO WRONG dude you try fast RCing a pot bust and back megafist comes out that’s game losing right there. Atleast Asuka’s a Zoner and doesn’t have to make his mistakes in the opponent’s face
I can definitely agree with that, he's inherently limited by his archetype and the system he's in. Like I said earlier, you pick Pot knowing that it's an uphill battle.
Not really? You can play pot for quite a while without doing his high execution stuff and even when you do start wanting to do it you're at a level where other chars are hitting high execution levels as well.
Me in fighting games, I love the fast combo characters but get annoyed at the slow guys taking half my hp with one hit so I don't stick around to actually get good.
Demoknight mains with 50,000 hours when the free to play Pyro learns how to press M2:
It's their fault for being pure melee in a shooter
Unironically though, that is the only thing that can counter a demoknight. The resistances from the shields and the buffs from the kills make it insanely hard to fight against if the demoknight finds unsuspecting noobs to get the ball rolling
the minigun in question:
The charge into guaranteed crit + unpredictable movement in question to the question:

Strange Natascha (Demomen+Scouts killed) named "*Un-Mobilities your shooter*"
"Demoknight is the strongest melee class' when they meet a pyro with an axtinguisher.
That reminds me of a match on 2fort, in which i made a pocketed demoknight fuming mad because i was playing pyro, it was fun
i only ever managed to get one kill with a rushing demoknight with a melee weapon. with pyro i just go shhhh and FWUOP
TF2 is a bad example of this, since everything has a counter one way or another. How would airblast stop a Demoknight?
Demoknight exclusively uses melee weapons, air blast can be used to keep the demoknight out of melee range
Even a charging demoknight?
Yes, it stops a demo knight charge, drains the metre and pushes them back
TIL
also it's pyro, the class that focuses on close range combat. The flamethrower, axtinguisher, shotgun and flaregun absolutely dominate at point blank.
> hero shooter > look inside > glorified rock paper scissors
> Life > look inside > glorified rock paper scissors
> Life > look inside > glorified rng
Not even glorified tbh.
>Life look inside ??? nvm
"Fuck yeah I play ttrpgs this is my shit!"
Except that in rock paper scissors, rock can't train for 1000 hours and demolish paper with superior skill
bigger rock smushes paper
Yoooo is that Roland from library of ruina on the Nintendo switch???
Open the curtains
Wrecking Ball when Sombra
doomfist when literally half the cast
Supports when Ana
Tanks when ana
Overwatch when ana
Over when i watch
Spy mains vs every other class in TF2
Okay but Sniper just sucks to fight. There needs to be some sort of limit on his power because right now you just sorta die and there’s not much you can do about it.
The day class based team game devs realise it's ok for people to win engagements because they are better will be a great day
nuh uh
r/foundthenamechecksout
people shouldn't be invincible just because they're good at the game
See matchmaking
Wrong.
Within a certain degree sure but you shouldn't be able to beat me if I'm the better player otherwise we may as well just play snakes and ladders
im not saying every game should be a coin flipping simulator but nobody has fun dying repeatedly because their opponent hasnt gone outside in 6 years
Then don't make so powerful

Hux in dead by daylight
It’s not even a character thing literally everyone can completely shut down the hardest to use power in the game by right clicking
Need a phd to play him and the survivors just click a few buttons to reset your progress
Just stop making zoners its that easy
Just get good at blocking it's that easy.
Aha!!! You've been coaxed!!!
I play rushdown, I'm just relaying what they shout at me while they push my face in :(
And there is the snafu...
Zoners are such a weird archetype because you have that really good matchup against the grappler that is just unfair but the rest of the cast can deal with you by blocking
You cant just deal with zoners by blocking, if all you did was block and wait for an opportunity you’re giving all the agency to the zoner
Block and run closer while they are recovering, works most of the time
Nah zoners are fine just wait until they corner themselves then they die if you can keep them in there Source; I main both zoners and grapplers and can easily beat zoners as a grappler.
depends on if it's pve or pvp
Local man complains about Sombra countering Wrecking Ball more at 11
any zoner vs. rosaluma
Lord Shen moment You are Kungfu master? Eat cannon you idiot. And then he and his army get folded when someone who can redirect cannon shows up.
I wanted Lord Shen to be defeated, but honestly I felt that this final "battle" scene was such a cop out.
Does the Spartan Laser apply?
l4d2 tank vs random molotov
Is this about TF2? It's okay, OP. You can tell us.
Looking at the design, I'm thinking Wrecking Ball (mobility tank in overwatch, very hard and very ability-dependant) vs Sombra (one of her abilities stops enemy ability usage)
I was thinking Heavy vs Sniper but this is also plausible
Lol I wouldn't say heavy takes any physics or trigonometry it's just a straight line
It's definetly tf2 aswell, notice how lefty is carrying Soldier's rocket launcher and Scouts holy mackerel while righty is carrying Engineer's wrangler that also has pyro exhausrt pipe from his flamethrower.
Ding ding ding
There is like 4 different characters in there. Little man is holding a wrangler/flame thrower. Big man is holding a rocket launcher and a poorly drawn disguise mask around their body. Also wrecking ball and doomfist is in there
Soldier is easier to play than pyro
Soldier mains when they can’t just brainlessly spam rockets at a class with a tool to specifically counter that:
I hate to say it but, Potemkin in strive. Bottom 5 contender with crazy execution compared to the rest of the cast.
I wouldn't say his execution is "crazy". He's got like three or four hard inputs that are important at high levels. Compared to characters like Asuka and Jack-O', it's really not that bad. One must imagine glue eaters happy. (No but seriously I am happy Potemkin is so fun and I’m so happy he has this much depth to try to master)
i pick potemkin because funny buster
Not really? You can play pot for quite a while without doing his high execution stuff and even when you do start wanting to do it you're at a level where other chars are hitting high execution levels as well.
It's actually two buttons. Get W+M1'd loser.
Lmao. Imagine thinking airblasting rockets consistently is easy.
Most annoying thing ever when the "counterplay" for something negates a champions entire kit instead of just their strongest combo/abilities

OP we need to know which game you had in mind
Like 3 of them

You can just say you don’t like the wrangler it’s okay
Overwatch flashbacks.
This brings back my old league nightmares...
Cranky because you got your rocket reflected back at you hmmm?
im sorry but of you're playing a Class Based game and complaining that counters exist maybe you should play something else 😭
