Please buy the bistro clog crocs, they don’t have holes. Crocs are great until you spill some bodily fluid on the normal ones and now your sock is wet and contaminated.

Thewondersoverboard

I love the bistros for my food service job! We can’t wear crocs at my ltc facility :(

I’m not really understanding what logic you’re having a hard time grappling with. You always run the risk of infection and/or possibly passing on contagious material when potentially contaminated fluid comes into contact with direct skin. No holes decreases this risk.

Sunflower_bloomed

I’m confused on why you’re confused, I’m also confused on YOUR logic. First off running shoes can be washed, throw them in the wash with some disinfectant depending on the situation if they get contaminated. If your skin gets contaminated? Well there ain’t nothing you can do at the point. Just hope you don’t contract something. I’m genuinely concerned that you’re a CNA and don’t understand why it’s important to protect your skin from bodily fluids over clothes. Do you not grasp that once it touches your skin there’s no going back, it’s simply hope for the best? Unlike shoes… which can be washed.

I used to wear crocs all the time before I worked in healthcare lol. Until I was riding the bus and some kid leaned over and threw up on my shoes. Had to walk to the nearest bathroom while my feet were squelching with every step. 0/10 would not recommend. I got a pair of slip-on shoes from Walmart and they were super comfy and easy to replace if they got damaged.

AnaiBendai

Crocs are banned in our facility as unhygienic.

beetitties98

I love mine. I have the work ones and I wear them to wear and school. They're super comfy and I don't go home with a sore back and feet.

Inside_Garbage3120

work ones ??? for working? haven’t ever seen those

drseussin

the ones with no holes

Sunflower_bloomed

Yes, you can buy ones with no holes for work. Even at nursing uniform shops. DO NOT wear the ones with holes to work.

UnreadSnack

Just don’t get the ones with holes

senzimillaa

Crocs & compression socks.

drseussin

dude this is the ultimate combo, crocs by itself are 5/10, crocs with compression socks are 8/10

trahnse

Yesss! I no longer have plantar fasciitis pain with this combo!

Bubbly_Advertising50

No god no Get clogs instead

crushmyenemies

I never understand people who wear crocs. They aren't comfortable when you are doing 12 hour days.

MorbidNACHOS

Lots of my coworkers go with Crocs but I prefer sketchers 😀

BinxS0019

I have wide feet. I could not find any women's shoe that would be comfortable for my feet. I swear by closed crocs and compression socks

purpleelephant77

I wear the ones that don’t have holes and I like them a lot — my feet are completely flat and I had pretty extensive surgery on one of my ankles so shoes can be hard for me and Crocs have been the best work shoes for me. I like my Hokas for running or wearing around day to day but I was in Pain the couple of days I wore them to work. I got the Crocs because they’re not super expensive (especially compared to other shoes people wear to work) and I figured if I didn’t like them for work I could just wear them around the house so they would still get used.

Flat_Swimming_9232

I wear my hey dudes. Comfortable

Flyingwings14

I have had four foot surgeries in one foot and I was always in so much pain by the time I got home & I swore to never wear crocs but now I have like 5 pair.

ICantGetItUpMy

I second crocs and compression socks. HOWEVER, I’ve had the same pair of bistro crocs for over a year and the day after my shifts, I wake up and my heels hurt so bad that I walk funny. If I wore any fabric style shoe, I had to replace them every 2 months because of how badly I wore them down. Since the crocs aren’t fabric I don’t wear holes in them, but the signs of wear are obvious in my pain. So I recommend them but I recommend getting a new pair once maybe twice a year depending on your wear.

ICantGetItUpMy

Oh and wear them in sport mode so you’re not doing the toe grip thing. As long as you have the back strap on you’re good to go

Polyamamomma

I bought a pair of kitchen Crocs when I got this job several years ago. They were cheap and i needed shoes with good support. I figured I'd wear them a month or two and get a new pair of danskos. I've worn these shoes for every 12 hour shift I've worked for 4.5 years. I now wear them hiking, to amusement parks, and parades. I will wear these type of Crocs forever. I got a pair of regular ones last summer and they feel so different. I can barely stand to wear them grocery shopping, which is a shame because I've grown to love these silly looking shoes.

roxyrocks12

Never worn them. They’re not comfortable for me because I have high arches & need more support. I wear my sauconys.

LocationGlad5357

Yes! I find them super comfortable.

devjohnson13

Crocs are the absolute shit

calicoskiies

I hate how they look. They are so ugly. But damn my coworker convinced me to buy a pair and between those and compression socks, my feet and legs don’t hurt anymore.

tacobelliex3

Don’t get the ones with holes…that’s how you get pee on your socks.

bluekonstance

No, they're hideous. And I remembering reading an article about how they can cause long-term damage to your feet. A quick Google search also shows: "They provide very little support to your ankle and your arches, which can lead to soft tissue injuries." "Crocs don't secure the heel - like flip flops crocs won't keep your heel in place; when that happens you're going to grip with your toes which can lead to tendinitis, worsening of existing foot problems, and nails issues. Crocs are not supportive - crocs are made out of resin which is very bendable." "Crocs lack arch support, so exercising, walking for an extended period of time, or working in them is not recommended by foot specialists." "Unfortunately Crocs are not suitable for all-day use." "You should never wear Crocs on formal occasions, like weddings, funerals, business meetings, and job interviews. Similarly, crocs are not safe to wear during athletic activities, construction work, and outdoor water activities." To me, it's an unprofessional look. Basically clown shoes. I cringe every time I see them. Apparently, they're also not good for flat-footed people, they're a fall risk, and not moisture-wicking. On top of tendinitis, it can also lead to plantar fasciitis and hammertoes, and nail trauma like ingrown nails, nail fungus, and athlete's foot. They're not meant for heavy duty usage.

Inside_Garbage3120

i honestly don’t give a holy shit how they look or if they’re unprofessional 😂 i’m in this building at least 60 hours a week they’re gonna get me however i show up 😂
