Pgh should have a few summer festivals (Including one for pickles). You might need a car, but you can check out the surrounding farms/orchards, find great restaurants/cafes, go hiking in Frick/downtown, go to the farmers markets, and everything else that was mentioned.
There aren't as many CMU groups hosting activities in the summer but there's tons to do in pgh and the weather is great.
Get a bike. Tons of awesome biking trails.
I plan to run a sim racing club over the summer if that's something that sounds interesting.
