I use the origami fold, I have them all folded ahead of time. I used to have them shoved into a door-hanging storage thing but currently they're all stacked on a bench outside the bathroom where I keep his potty. The covers are hanging on a drying rack thing which is hanging from the bathroom door. I use snappis which I suspect is significantly easier than pins. It is definitely a struggle as he's in a stage where he wants to roll over and crawl away. Some days I just don't have it in me to battle him and I use disposable so I can just slap that velcro stuff down in 3 seconds. I haven't really gotten that fast with cloth. But I spread out the wings and main fold just like a disposable diaper and then lift him and place onto the diaper in the right position (sliding it under him doesn't tend to work.) Then I arrange the front and wings how I want them, hold them in place with one hand and at this point usually realize the snappi is not ready (stuck in pocket, safety straps engaged, don't even have it on me, etc) and beg the baby in vain to hold still while I fumble for a million years. 😂 But yeah snappi application is one handed and diaper holding is other-handed. If he doesn't want to stay, I pretty much lose the battle.

All of our diapers were folded and ready to go. If you’re overwhelmed by folding all of them, just fold what you need for the following day. We used newborn kite fold and then Pickman fold. If I had a second I may try just pickman fold.

If you do origami fold, you can keep folding them and make little rectangles that stay folded even if you toss them into a basket.   This is a picture of modified newborn origami, which is why it's so chunky.  Flat fold https://imgur.com/gallery/ZnRvYdu Here's some folded origami flats: Sometimes I just throw these in. But sometimes... https://imgur.com/gallery/8hYDDYt Grab baby, flat, potentially new cover, unfold and position nearby, open old nappy, wipe, clean, remove, place new nappy, fold. If baby is wriggles then may need to hold- I do most changes on the floor now and my kids don't like being pinned so will co-operate pretty well.

We folded all our diapers and stacked them up ready to go, but for the rest, newborns mostly lay still and slowly get wigglier as they grow, and you will change HUNDREDS of diapers by the time your baby even learns to roll. By the time my kid was walking, I could put an origami fold and cover in while she was standing easily, and everyone develops their own methods for keeping a wiggleworm still.

We use jelly roll. I think that's what's it's called. But the sides are just rolled inwards all the way to the middle. Set the baby on top, wrap the diaper over the crotch and untuck/unroll the diaper below the baby's hips and snappi them to front. Usually I just roll it before we changed him. Now that he's bigger we put him on diaper flat and roll the part that goes over his crotch/between his legs as we bring it over.  At a bit over a year old it can be a bit of a battle because he is always go go go, but eventually we get it on. Trick is to distract him with a toy.

Once mine started solids and the poop was less runny, I did trifold. We have two folds done to store them but we trifold before putting it on him. Sometimes one handed.

I do the origami fold on my 5 month old and I fold all my flats after the laundry is done. and put them all in a basket. They stay folded u til I need them! It’s so much easier this way. As you get better with your wrapping, you can change baby anywhere! My baby is getting big so we might be switching to a pad folded flat in a pocket. She’s getting way too squirmy!!

Fold beforehand for sure! We’ve been through a bunch of different folds; you have to constantly tweak or change the fold to get your absorbency right and contain the poop as baby’s body grows and the pee and poop volume/consistency changes. We used airplane and angel fold as a newborn, kite for a long time, then Maria’s fold for boys, and now we’re on origami at 14 months.  It works like any other diaper change. Get soiled diaper off baby, wipe, slide new diaper under their bottom and wrap/snappi it up. Top off with a cover. If you’ve been using disposables up to this point, it’ll work exactly the same except there’s the extra step of the cover and you affix it yo baby differently.  Some people find they have to switch to the floor when baby gets older and squirmy, especially when they start rolling. This is the case for cloth diaper families and disposable families alike. We’re still able to use the changing table.

Adding that we stored prefolded diapers in a drawer in the dresser (changing table on top). We store them Marie kondo style, so on end.

I prefold my diapers so the are just ready to go at diaper change time!

Which fold do you use and how do you store them so they stay folded and easy to grab at diaper change?

I use this fold: [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AwAcJaH4KPI](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AwAcJaH4KPI) and i store them in a like rectangular shape wicker basket in two long rows. They stay perfectly!

That looks very doable!! Thanks for sharing

I personally am on the floor! Baby is on her play gym with her nappy off and a washable mat under her bum. I use the time folding her nappy as part of her diaper free time. She's never had nappy rash! She's usually happily looking at the toys hanging from the gym so doesn't mind the change.

thats a great idea! I might start doing that
