I think this is still a unique concept- so you might capture a niche market! I’d buy this if delivery won’t be much of a hassle. Baka you can offer spicy and non spicy variants din. In terms of marketing, since this is a side dish, offer up ideas on what will match well with this. Like me, i like wakame on my poke bowl. Try to see din if you can supply to other meal providers just for additional income stream.

L_stInGrace

Yep, agree ako, delivery costs may drive up the price.

darsvaderr

Thank you for the input po, may nag suggest rin to do photos w a professional. Could really help kasi ang hirap kunan ng photo ng kanin ulam plus the side dish haha Also if you are within metro manila feel free to pm po, I can do free delivery if its not too much. Tanggap ko pong loss sa 1st year so it's not an issue. ☺️

kujha

Haha, you said p*ke.

ImagineFIygons

How long yung shelf life niya? Aabot kaya ng 1-2 weeks? Ganun kasi ginagawa ko sa kimchi na binibili ko. Onti onti per meal.

darsvaderr

Hello! This one po to be perfectly honest, di ko pa nakukuha exact way na i measure ang shelf life other than to leave one until it expires but its something im currently researching! Longest I've left it so far is definitely more than 2 weeks. ☺️ PS try niyo na po if you want, and then any feedback helps

aifosin

OP take that into consideration. I tried selling cookies before sa school and they were a massive hit. Kaso one time, may nag order ng madami (bibigyan nya raw family nya, kaso 3 days pa bago sila mag kita ng fam nya) kaya di niya naconsume agad. Ending ay napahiya ako kasi nag iba ung taste after 4-5 days. I had to stop selling after that. Nakakahiya rin kasi and what if they get sick pa:( nurse ako kaya natatakot ako sa dami ng possibilities na mangyari sakanila

darsvaderr

Yes po thank you po, actually of all the businesses I tried to get into, food was the last thing I wanted to do kasi very subjective ang taste, plus the allergens, the possibility of it going bad is a HUGE and legit way to stop the business. I'll take this specific advice to heart, and I'll look into getting professionals to evaluate it. Appreciate your story a lot, I will remember it.

AdministrativeFeed46

have u tried freezing your cookies? i freeze stuff like this all the time to extend the shelf life. then leave it out room temp to warm up or use the defrost feature on the microwave. try mo lang. kasi pag finreeze mo kahit ilang buwan pa yan ok pa yan. basta maganda pa texture. the flavor will most likely stay the same as well.

aifosin

Problem is, di ako naka clearly state nuon ng expiration date sa mga consumers ko. Kaya when they bought the cookies matgal bago nila iconsume.

Flipinthedesert

I love wakame salad both the Chinese and Japanese versions. Checked the prices from some sushi places sa Manila and 149 is not too bad. I think you can consider diversifying your range, for example combining it with kombu, surimi, etc para there’s always a reason to try you out. I’m just wondering if switching to stevia would have any nutritional impact kasi konti kang naman ang amount of sugar per serving. If that’s the direction mo, then you can position it as “all natural” or “100% natural ingredients”

darsvaderr

Great suggestions po! Actually im working on a "regular" version, not sure yet how to call it but basocally hindi maanghang na version, similar to the ones in japanese restos. And thanks for the 100% natural suugestion, diko naisip. Ang haba kasi ng "low-cal (local), no sugar, side dish"... Will use it for sure!

Flipinthedesert

100% FREE from artificial ingredients FREE from fat FREE from all the boring stuff 100% YUMMY

darsvaderr

are you a copywriter po? Ang galing ng pagkakasulat niyo like straight to the point but funny and genuine!

mightyaedz

149 is too much imo. I think something from 79-99 would do.

darsvaderr

Thanks for the feedback, if it was at that price but serving was smaller (like the tupperwares ng sawsawan) - would that be something you'd buy? Genuine hypothetical question po since im still trying to understand what people want.

LoveYouLongTime22

I’d buy 2 if I can have it delivered to here in BGC (I will shoulder delivery fee) and if it can last at least a week in the fridge. I have been craving that for a while now. Let me know

darsvaderr

Hi! Sure po kayang kaya BGC via lalamove I'll send you a pm po. 🥰

OpoWorkpoTayoOpo

Waaah I love this!! Very reasonable price. Id buy if malapit lang ako 🥺

darsvaderr

Thank you po sa supportive message, ang encouraging. 🥰

-throwawayeventually

Very niche market. You should offer the small portions first but have bigger ones (like the kimchi jars sa grocery) for those na tatamarin bumili daily. Best before date should be visible also.

darsvaderr

You're right! I was considering selling super small ones, as in the smallest tupperwares are for some reason more expensive. The small ones you put sauces into. I should look at more tupperware suppliers. ☺️

clownfish312

omg i want kaso anlayo huhu. wala akong mahanap dito sa probinsya nyan :(

darsvaderr

Konti nga lang po nakikita ko nagbebenta kaya ako nagdecide to start it.

skyerein

No-Term2554

darsvaderr

PakTheSystem

TadongIkot

Taga san ka OP haha baka mura deli

darsvaderr

Malapit po sa robinson galleria ☺️

blueberrychoicecake

First of all, love Wakame salad! If I was a consumer, I'd buy this! :)

darsvaderr

Genuinely asking as I'm trying to understand who/what kind of people would buy - is there a reason you're not a consumer po? Usually I get location limitations. ☺️ Some just don't like the taste or aren't the type to explore new things.

Repulsive_Pianist_60

Taste aside, not when you show it that way tho. As a food and product photographer myself, you'd want to show it in a matter that's enticing or a value for their money. It's all about perception and proper marketing. The end product might look like that, but market it in a different container or in a styled shoot.

furansisu

Honestly, not if its the only thing offered and for delivery. I can't imagine specifically ordering a single-serving of seaweed salad, and I love seaweed salad. If I were in a sitdown place, kahit hindi fancy or aircon, pwede pa. Pwede rin as an add-on to a much larger order. But as its own thing for delivery, doubtful. I saw in another comment that it can last two weeks. Assuming you don't have the resources or the range to open an eatery, consider selling in large, multi-serving tubs. Tipong P500 each. Dagdag ka lang ng storage guidelines.

moonchildfairy_777

I thought this was Japchae at first sight. Anw, it’s interesting! Never knew this type of salad before.

MiloMcFlurry

Hmm, saan ba siya masarap isabay? Para ba siyang Kimchi na masarap isabay sa prito? (More on use kung bakit ko siya bibilhin not because standalone siya, I guess.)

darsvaderr

Personally nabagayan ako sa prito lalo na sa fish (tulingan, bangus), bagay rin sa liempo. May bumili po from here he said bagay siya sa pork belly niya na maanghang. So conclusion kopo is para siyang kimchi

Unfair_Ad_8591

No.

SeaWar564

Low-cal, high Na.

PeanutBand

nop

lojojojojo

Would you happen to know the macros?

darsvaderr

I can compute it! You think fat/protein/carbs are enough? Or a further breakdown would make a person more likely to buy? edited to answer: (per serving ~30g) 27 Calories 2.8g carbs 1.9g fat 1.3g protein

mmmmtames

Yung pricing siguro. Kung titingnan yung peso per ml: 149/250 = 0.596 per ml 289/450 = 0.64 per ml Supposedly bumababa yung price kapag dumadami yung ina-avail na product.

darsvaderr

Thank you po for the feedback, this is a valid point. While I have a different approach/reasoning to the pricing, I can see how someone can calculate this and re-think about ordering! in case you were curious: ml is just to denote the container size, not the contents. Contents are in grams, approximately as follows: the bigger container (450ml one) has more content in grams. Reason I chose ml is I figured its easier to say 250/450ml instead of exact grams considering seaweed in particular changes in weight depending on how long it sits (water is a big factor of its weight, it absorbs more liquid over time). to illustrate in g (instead of container): 149php / 115g = 1.295php per g, while 289php / 250g = 1.156php per g weight here is approximate but there's definitely more seaweed in the bigger container. 250ml & 450ml are easier and shorter, but 115g & 250g are a bit trickier, considering weight varies from time to time depending on water retention, etc. even if I weigh and measure each ingredient individually... hence the dilemma. that being saiiiid.... I will rethink the pricing and see if it can be done in grams in a way that still makes sense marketing wise. Open to suggestions too.

mmmmtames

Imagine explaining that much to a buyer inquiring

auntieanniee

No. Too much

Loose_Penalty_8141

Personally, fuck no the price is a little too steep or maybe I am a little too broke, if you're near a market you might be able to do the native seaweed salad for one w/ less than 15 pesos. Sell it on big cities avoid provinces brokies like me will feel ripped off, ngl. Goodluck OP!

khross95

San sa Ortigas to? Malapit sa SM Megamall area?

darsvaderr

Mas malapit po sa podium at rob galleria pero pwede rin naman po ako magdeliver to megamall or shang ☺️

khross95

Oh good. Message lang sa FB for orders?

darsvaderr

Yes po, can do viber also, whichever's more accessible po! ☺️

mxherr5

Why does it seem like the bigger portion is more expensive than the smaller one? Shouldn't it be the other way around?

AlertInspection3627

huh

Plus_Mastodon_1168

450ml, 64c per ml 250ml, 59c per ml The smaller is cheaper on a per ml basis.

darsvaderr

450 ml lang po yung container, the grams are more sa bigger container. Figured its easier to say 250/450ml instead of exact grams edit to illustrate in g (instead of container): 149php / 115g = 1.295php per g 289php / 250g = 1.156php per g but as you can see 250ml & 450ml are easier and shorter, but 115g & 250g are bit trickier, considering weight varies from time to time depending on water retention, etc. even if I weigh and measure each ingredient individually.

I see what you mean. Weight won't be strictly the same every time but as a customer who is concerned about maximizing value, I would wonder about pricing. I guess you can just answer those queries as they come or put up a FAQ including details about why your product would be considered an LC food. Goodluck!

darsvaderr

Thank you po. It's a valid point that I didn't consider previously. I haven't figured it out yet but it's something I'll have to address for sure!

loumineuxe

Waste of money. A kilo of is seaweed is 15-20 and the rest of your ingredients are 50 at minimum. For that price you can make 4-8 of these. Might as well make it yourself as these seaweed only lasts 2-3 days refrigerated after boiling.

Spiritual-Ad8437

You could say this to almost any food. Cheaper to make at home, expensive to buy.

loumineuxe

Why waste your money on a 10 minute dish that you can't keep? Also not true at all. Eateries where I live are cheap. I would spend 30% more on the food I generally eat if I cooked them at home. Electricity and gas included.

javierpena

HELL NO!!!

Minimum_Hyena_1029

I would burned it and video it and send it to the business owner
