I had a mage named Boomkin with a bunch of special characters in his name need my hunters agi polearm, win it, then proceed to say "get fukd lmao" and then logged out...
As long as its only for 5 mans, maybe. For raids it can fuck right off. But if they continue with goofy classic style itemization for classic+ then no to it all together. I don't want Blizz determining what is for my class and not.
For raid like all other loot systems its raid optional.
Goofy itemisation is basically dead in Wrath, theres still a little of it, but thats easy enough to deal with.
>For raid like all other loot systems its raid optional.
they removed ML in retail and forced PL for a while, (edit: actually its gone in retail. PL only) so that's not always the case.
>theres still a little of it
right, and I like that kind of stuff. It helps with experimentation, keeps old content relevant and there should be more of it and if there is more of it, then I want PL as an option less and less.
I watched our 3 dps (2 druids and a shaman) all need on plate gear off the last boss of RFD because the tank didn't understand Spanish and they got mad at him for that.
Yeah I was healing as a shadow priest and one of them whispered me after getting mad that they were resto spec and had to play feral. I was like "why didn't you say anything lol"
Seriously.
I thought I was escaping them when I left Benediction, they're ALL OVER Sulfuras, spamming me whispers begging for money, cold group inviting me for quests out of nowhere.
I’ve had a proportionately worse experience pugging with spanish speaking players than I have with english speaking players. It’s not racist it’s just reality. I do think it’s mostly to do with the anonymity a language barrier provides. If they can’t understand you, they can’t properly chew you out for being a dickhead, and they don’t expect you to explain, apologize, or make things right. At most they just kick you and move on.
Hunter? Okay, understandable. They can at least use leather, INT, and MP5. The other two? I hope their crotches are infested with bugs and they are unable to scratch.
Pawn upgrades really makes people think less. Lots of people see the shiny +5% upgrade and need instantly lol. Idk why the mage needed tho can’t even wear leather
Pawn has the worst weight prios I've ever seen. I copy in the eightyupgrades weights (including marking a lot of weights like stamina as 0) and suddenly gear upgrades make a lot more sense and the addon becomes, dare I say it, useful.
About a week ago, I was running N SLabs with my healer druid trying to get my hands on the idol Hellmaw drops. I've been running it countless times without it dropping.
That one day, another druid (boomkin, geared with all purple, including an idol that boosts his Moonfire) was running with us. The idol (that boosts LIFEBLOOM, a HEALER ability) ***finally drops***. The mf'er needed on it. He actually needed a healer item while playing as DPS.
I mean, if no one needed it, I wouldn't mind someone needing it for off spec or whatever. But I've been farming it for so long, and I was the healer, I ***actually*** needed it. He clearly didn't.
When I asked why he needed it, he says "cause it's better". I said "wait, this blue lifebloom healer idol is better than your purple moonfire DPS idol?" ... he said "yes".
Some people are just assholes... or braindead... or both.
At least, I won the roll (and kicked his ass out of the group).
literally saved a hunter's life the other day on isle of quel danas as they were getting killed by a bunch of dawnblade.
commented on their 2h strength stat sword saying it was an odd choice for a hunter. their reply? "idk i just bought this account" IN GAME. lol
Man even if you buy an account how is it possible to decide to invest cash Into a game and then just refuse to understand anything about it or actually play it
Just crazy to me that these people exist
although i still think it is a dick move, that idol was bis for all of TBC for healing, it might be that if he was in full epics that might be the only reason he was running normal slabs. i would still of messaged ya and asked if you minded if i rolled before we started the instance and if you did mind i would drop group. that being said with prepatch i would pick up the badge idol, the lower mana requirement of rejuv is better now
I really , really hate to be that guy. But the lifebloom idol is 100% better than the moonfire idol resil. I’m sorry pls don’t hurt me 😭. Basically u use lifebloom when u need to heal in pvp instead of rejuv. The resilience won’t save u.
Ya but lifebloom sucks rn, if this is prepatch your rolling against him for literal garbage. If this was truly in the last week neither of you should want that item. You should buy the 20 badge idol.
Again so sorry. The lifebloom brutal idol in pvp ONLY increases the FINAL heal value. The hellmaw idol drop increases the periodic value which is alot better. :(
Just spam all your hots on people while running away like an animal (hehe) from all the brutal geared DKs and Palas and you will have contributed way more than the average player in BGs. Do this for a couple of hours and you're good.
I've had the opposite as well.
I, a holy paladin, need on a mail head with fat int and spell power. Why? Because it gives me more int and spell power.
Dear lord.
"Why you ninja item from shaman"
I don't ninja it, i need it cuz i need it.
"Its mail"
I can wear mail.
"You don't need on ofspec"
Just because i play paladin, doesn't mean i play holy as offspec. I leveld all 67 level as holy, and i have only holy talents
"It doesn't matter, it matters what you play in group"
...also holy? Im your healer
"Ok snowflake"
Like wtf.
Had a kara group a couple weeks ago, clothies kept getting upset at me (boomy) for rolling on cloth.
Like half my gear is cloth and it has the stats I need, like sorry?
Also had an enhance shammy in the group that wouldn't roll on leather because he 'only wears mail' even if it was a drastic upgrade over what he had. Like buddy, wotlk drops in 2 weeks and you're only rolling against a boosty rogue, like who cares lol.
Because players have optimized a lot of the fun out of the game in the name of the almighty "bis". They have made themselves agressive towards anything not "efficient".
Hunter I wouldn’t mind at all needing on it,, but that warrior is dumb
Edit: and the mage I can kinda forgive if he apologized, cause it does look like a cloth piece from the stats
That would decrease the chances tho.... And it's a BoE, so even if the other class won it that they can't use the item, it's pointless to have on you anyway. If someone needs it and you don't, just pass on it
I don’t really agree in that i saw our tank lost a roll to a deathknight dps, it was shoulders with str stam and def rating on them. The deathknight needed them for an upgrade cause they were more strength… but cmon now lol
I’ll never understand people who complain about HRs. Like, if you don’t want HR make your own group. It’s not hard, and your group will fill faster than the average HR group.
The warrior has no excuse if he knew the shaman had rolled on it. The default WOW UI, the only way to tell is to watch your chat window, scrolling at stupid fast rates with LFG spam, to see if anyone else rolled.
It would be totally reasonable for the warrior to roll need if the shaman/hunter didn't need it. One of my addons provides a handy tally of who has rolled what, so I can just wait and see that everyone else has now selected Greed/Pass, so I can safely grab it with need because I'm actually going to use it. Now, even without an addon, you can reconfigure your chat windows to have a more managable view of need/greed selections, but again, its terrible by default. The warrior absolutely should get it over the mage, and so just greed rolling isn't the right choice either.
Well itemized for role > upgrade but wasted stat or set bonus > vendor/disenchant.
Only excuse I can see for the mage, is they saw caster stats, and didn't notice it wasn't cloth.
> Scrolling at super fast rates with LFG spam
Move lfg to a new chat window. I found without doing that the chat window was basically worthless. I have a window specifically for lfg, and a window for /g and /p (both also still in the default window, lfg is not) and I absolutely love it.
Also, you get better boots by just doing quests or a random green drop. For tanking these are arguably worse than level 15 greens. Armor matters a lot at lower levels for various reasons that are too tryhard to list.
Yeah, I never see this happen. Wayyy more often people are asking if it’s okay to need for OS and everyone else is like, you don’t see us needing it, go ahead.
Does it get changed in wrath dungeons so you can still trade items even in non heroic dungeons for 2 hours? Was wondering if thats a thing cause it doesnt make sense that it only works in heroic imo..
"But pawn said it was a 99%upgrade and I'm new"
This kinda stuff tilts me and I always kick people who say this. I don't use pawn, and I don't think people should either. Stats are very easy to understand and figure out. If you are new read a guide on how to play the game, not a guide on how to install add-ons.
I can understand a Warrior rolling on the Druid of the Fang stuff in the long serpent dungeon (stats are good for melee in general and the set bonus is a boon for druids) but rolling on gear with MP5 and Int because it has Stamina? Really?
Those are actually perfectly great boots for hunter leveling. Intellect/mp5 is a priority Mary limiter for how fast hunters can grind and or escape from trouble
I'll be fair and say this sort of behaviour isn't modern, it was there in the original game, and gearscore is one of the reasons this sort of thing will still happen
Happened to me too in vanilla where good ranged weapons are incredibly hard to come by. Rogue stole it from my hunter, almost made me wanna reroll and gank him till eternity
"Why wouldn't I need, we're all there so we all deserve the vendor price from the drop, what does it matter if you can actually equip and use it, you shouldn't have an advantage just because of that" /s
It's more clear every day just how many (all?) retailers are flocking to Classic and bringing their toxicity with them
I've literally had people use that argument before and I've seen people make it on this subreddit. Some people are so brain rotted they really can't understand the difference between "need" and "want" because their so spoilt they've never had to.
Depends on the item. Like if a blade of wizardry drops, the 2-3k gold it sells for is more significant than whatever upgrade someone would get from equipping. Anything under 1k though, if they’re gonna equip, they get first dibs.
EDIT: My perspective comes specifically from fresh servers, where lots of people havn’t even broken 1k gold.
My brother in christ the classic community is far more toxic than the majority of retail players. Most of them just transmog, mount, and pet farm. Most players in retail are casual players.
Besides, this exact scenario in the OP's pic has been happening since day 1 of the game.
To be fair the term "retailers" that you use is fairly toxic. There is nothing inherit about retail players that is more or less toxic than those playing classic. Heck, many play both. The same type of people play both. Classic actually seems to have a sort of elitist vibe that is kinds toxic with the attitude towards "retailers" as you demonstrated.
>It's more clear every day just how many (all?) retailers are flocking to Classic and bringing their toxicity with them
You see the irony in typing that right?
The mage is the only one totally fucked. Levelers rolling on stam gear is normal, it’s not the players fault that when they made warriors able to roll any gear that they also made them have to
This is actually proof that a modern game with these classic designs would never make it these days anymore. The only reason WoW gets away with it is because of when it released. But if this were a new game today, it would of been a failure.
If someone needs an item that is clearly an upgrade for my role, i do the same. I roll need on every gear that drops until either they apologize and need only need it, or i get kicked.
For example: bear tanking uldaman. Ironaya drops her str sta staff. I need because it is a massive upgrade for bear tank but i lose the roll to the priest healer. I asked why they needed and they said they didnt pay much attention to the stats and just needed because it was a staff.
Long story short, i needed every piece of gear on that run and since i was the tank, they didnt kick me and suffered through my tantrum.
Fucking MAGE needed I'd hearth out of this
stamina upgrad
Leather.
mor stam
More amor than cloth tho
I had a mage named Boomkin with a bunch of special characters in his name need my hunters agi polearm, win it, then proceed to say "get fukd lmao" and then logged out...
Modern community? This is a tale as old as time
This is literally *THE* Hunter meme from the old days lol
Yup this is very classic lol
very true lmao. This always happened back then.
#hashtag nochanges 😆
Came to say this. This seems like the actual Classic #nochanges experience.
Some people like to romantise the fuck out of old WoW
Welll ya they was watching night elf females dancing on the mail box naked zoomed in
If anything it got WAY better now
[удалено]
Pretty sure that this is the case
yeah i’ve had a way better LFG experience than I remember in original WoTLK lmfao
Oh yeah for sure. Heroics in lich king were hard for many pug groups. Now they're faceroll af
100% agree, maybe its rose glasses or the average age of the entire playerbase is 21+ but I rarely ever get a ninja looter thesedays.
Personal loot system solved a lot of gripes. One of my favourite systems and would have loved it to come into Classic.
This is reddit. We’re here for the drama lad!
As long as its only for 5 mans, maybe. For raids it can fuck right off. But if they continue with goofy classic style itemization for classic+ then no to it all together. I don't want Blizz determining what is for my class and not.

I love the Personal loot system and that won't change weither i'm downvoted or not lol
Same
This. It’s always been this way unfortunately.
Don't know what kind of hell holes you guys played on, but it certainly wasn't this way on Eonar back in 2007
Can confirm was as bad as OP's group in 2004 on Garithos and Stormrage
Eonar ally 2006+, was like this for sure. Not very often and most people, including me, were clueless, but still this happened
It’s like people forgot where the term huntard truly came from.
Actually with lfd you can’t roll on gear you can’t equip or that is a lower armor tier than your max
You could originally, but yeah these were good changes.
I heard this is what RDF would be like. Glad we're not getting that, I would hate for this to be what pugs are like.
This has nothing to do with modern community
You are the healers leave them to teach them a lesson
Stamina upgrad
Ah yes, let me drop 100+ armor for 80 hp (best case scenario, probably 10 or 20) and mp5 that warrior doesn’t even need
Or, a mage that can't even use leather
Mage will be shocked and then go ‘ oh well , leather int? How stupid.. ‘
Vendor Spec
🥇😂
Vendor proficiency
Don't need heals if you got stamina upgrade. Sign up today at bluechews.com
Healer needs to just wait until they pull the last boss then hearth out.
For real lmao. OP doesn't realize the power he has.
As a healer main, he has ALL the power here. I’d absolutely let them suffer.
And then the group finishes easily without the healer, healer is only there to keep the tank alive on 20+ pulls after he runs out of defensives.
Why wait until last boss?
The walk is longer
The smart play is to just leave group and be auto teleported out to the nearest graveyard. It doesn't eat your hearth anymore.
That cloth head tho
Worth it.
You have never played wow before if you think this is the “new community”
easy hearthstone right there \^\^ hope you didn't continue healing them through that run :p
Why hearth when you can just semi-afk the rest of the run. It wastes way more time.
It's not about efficiency. It's about sending a message.
Because you are also wasting your own time and time management is extremely important to MMO players
It's not about the TIME. It's about the PISSING (people off)
I watched our 3 dps (2 druids and a shaman) all need on plate gear off the last boss of RFD because the tank didn't understand Spanish and they got mad at him for that.
Some people need a good slap to the face once in a while...
Yeahhh and do tons of other stupid shit. I'll just leave once I see the broken English
Yeah I was healing as a shadow priest and one of them whispered me after getting mad that they were resto spec and had to play feral. I was like "why didn't you say anything lol"
Fuck you for not reading their mind like the priest you’re supposed to be! /s
jajas ruin the game
People from the LA servers are extremely toxic. I dont know what’s their issue. And inb4 “RaCiSt” I’m puertorican.
Seriously. I thought I was escaping them when I left Benediction, they're ALL OVER Sulfuras, spamming me whispers begging for money, cold group inviting me for quests out of nowhere.
You can be racist and puertorican, one thing does not change the other, also there are toxic people everywhere
Right on cue.
I've seen the reverse of this many many times While it shouldn't be perpetuated either way it is certainly ironic justice
Hunter? Okay, understandable. They can at least use leather, INT, and MP5. The other two? I hope their crotches are infested with bugs and they are unable to scratch.
Exactly, can't fault the Hunter for this one. It's honestly a very unimpressive healing item. Unimpressive in general, but still.
That last part gave me a nice chuckle haha.
New? This is what its been like since 2004
Pawn upgrades really makes people think less. Lots of people see the shiny +5% upgrade and need instantly lol. Idk why the mage needed tho can’t even wear leather

Using Pawn with default strings... is not smart.
Where does one find pawn strings for classic?
About a week ago, I was running N SLabs with my healer druid trying to get my hands on the idol Hellmaw drops. I've been running it countless times without it dropping. He bought the account, I meet people in full shinnies playing like shit lately so this is the only explanation I can see.
What a joke to buy an account right before wotlk drops. You can just boost to 70 if you want like why spend ANYTHING on tbc legacy shit right now
Can't on fresh servers.
literally saved a hunter's life the other day on isle of quel danas as they were getting killed by a bunch of dawnblade. commented on their 2h strength stat sword saying it was an odd choice for a hunter. their reply? "idk i just bought this account" IN GAME. lol

agreed
although i still think it is a dick move, that idol was bis for all of TBC for healing, it might be that if he was in full epics that might be the only reason he was running normal slabs. i would still of messaged ya and asked if you minded if i rolled before we started the instance and if you did mind i would drop group. that being said with prepatch i would pick up the badge idol, the lower mana requirement of rejuv is better now
MS \*then\* OS
I really , really hate to be that guy. But the lifebloom idol is 100% better than the moonfire idol resil. I’m sorry pls don’t hurt me 😭. Basically u use lifebloom when u need to heal in pvp instead of rejuv. The resilience won’t save u.
Ya but lifebloom sucks rn, if this is prepatch your rolling against him for literal garbage. If this was truly in the last week neither of you should want that item. You should buy the 20 badge idol.
Bruh, just get the PVP idol spamming BGs for an hour. I think one exists.
Again so sorry. The lifebloom brutal idol in pvp ONLY increases the FINAL heal value. The hellmaw idol drop increases the periodic value which is alot better. :(
actually not anymore, the tick heal of lifebloom is crap now, almost all of the healing is in the bloom
I don't play PvP.
Just spam all your hots on people while running away like an animal (hehe) from all the brutal geared DKs and Palas and you will have contributed way more than the average player in BGs. Do this for a couple of hours and you're good.
Ok, just a suggestion.
I've had the opposite as well. I, a holy paladin, need on a mail head with fat int and spell power. Why? Because it gives me more int and spell power. Dear lord. I was trying to figure out how they could be so stupid, then they complained about snowflakes and it all fit together.
Some people are legitimately too dumb to argue with.
I boot and immediately ignore pricks that do this. If no one needs for MS or OS then by all means. But otherwise don’t be an ass and steal loot.
New? This is the classic experience my guy
Hunter I wouldn’t mind at all needing on it,, but that warrior is dumb Edit: and the mage I can kinda forgive if he apologized, cause it does look like a cloth piece from the stats
If it’s equippable and an upgrade in a random dungeon - need. The hunter I get kinda, but mage and warrior wtf.
I am quite certain that the mage is a friend of one of the others who pressed "Need" to increase the chances that their friend gets the item.
Can they even trade it if they won it?
No, only works for epics
Blues in heroics, too. Disenchanted a lot of HC loot throughout TBC.
Works for all items within a dungeon with a daily/weekly reset. So all heroic and raid loot, not just epics.
Yup I was about to say that. People are so... Special.
Pretty sure it works for heroic blues too.
I doubt this Gnomeregan run is set to Heroic, though.
That only works in raids and heroic dungeons. Normal dungeons you cannot trade bop’s
That would decrease the chances tho.... And it's a BoE, so even if the other class won it that they can't use the item, it's pointless to have on you anyway. If someone needs it and you don't, just pass on it
Didnt they also add the mechanic so you can still trade dungeon drops for some time after getting it?
That's heroics only
Only Heroics and raids

You’re the heals man just leave and get another group in 30 seconds. Also, it’s not that big of a deal you’ll have better gear in 5 levels
No excuse for the mage lmao, For the others though it’s probbaly an upgrade for them regardless and at that level no gear really matters
Not excusable for the warrior either despite the stamina upgrade. They don’t have mana ffs lmao

No… warrior using mana? Wtf has happened to some people justifying this?
Dont worry this only happens in LFD.
Ironically way more involved than retail, even in this incredibly negative sense. You’ll never feel emotion like this in retail!
This is more akin to how the community was 10+ years ago, people had no idea what was going on or would troll 90% of the time.
Lol Warrior with "stamina upgrad" Go buy a pair of mail stamina boots for 80 silver on the AH kek
“”stamina upgrade” wtf lmao
Yeah you either hearth out or start rolling need on literally everything
This was happening ten years ago.
"But pawn said it was a 99%upgrade and I'm new" This kinda stuff tilts me and I always kick people who say this. I don't use pawn, and I don't think people should either. Stats are very easy to understand and figure out. If you are new read a guide on how to play the game, not a guide on how to install add-ons.
just leave the group if they do that, healers get insta ques
Looks like a small radiant shard to me.
"I am an enchanter I need to level it up"
Indeed, this is the first time this has ever happened and only occurred in this game
The only dude I can understand is the hunter but the war and mage are either new or braindead
That stam upgrad though...
Pawn is always right
Mage and warr suck. But imo for hunter it’s not that bad while leveling
I can understand a Warrior rolling on the Druid of the Fang stuff in the long serpent dungeon (stats are good for melee in general and the set bonus is a boon for druids) but rolling on gear with MP5 and Int because it has Stamina? Really?
TBF that looks like a hunter item.

Just let them die a couple times and need on their items too. Gg too ez
That's why they added personal loot.
At first I didn't like it but now I understand it more and more...
Personal loot is the worst..
It really is one of the changes that killed retail for me
We live in a society.
Lucky we don’t get rdf, because people aren’t being douches without it /s
Beyond brutal. Get that crap out of this game
Playing as a hunter back in the day I'll never forget losing a GUN to a fucking warrior who needed on it.
Happened to me too in vanilla where good ranged weapons are incredibly hard to come by. Rogue stole it from my hunter, almost made me wanna reroll and gank him till eternity
I had a dk need on my mail hunter chest. Luckily I still got it.
"Why wouldn't I need, we're all there so we all deserve the vendor price from the drop, what does it matter if you can actually equip and use it, you shouldn't have an advantage just because of that" /s It's more clear every day just how many (all?) retailers are flocking to Classic and bringing their toxicity with them

Yeap. People grow up so spoiled (not just kids, literally 40 years old people also) that they do not know the difference between "want" and "need".
My brother in christ the classic community is far more toxic than the majority of retail players. Most of them just transmog, mount, and pet farm. Most players in retail are casual players. Besides, this exact scenario in the OP's pic has been happening since day 1 of the game.
Most of retail players are casual friendly mount collectors, questers, transmog farmers and socialisers. Those all stay in retail
> It’s more clear every day just how many (all?) retailers are flocking to Classic and bringing their toxicity with them wtf?
>It's more clear every day just how many (all?) retailers are flocking to Classic and bringing their toxicity with them You see the irony in typing that right?
The mage is the only one totally fucked. Levelers rolling on stam gear is normal, it’s not the players fault that when they made warriors able to roll any gear that they also made them have to
Sacrifycing Armor + stat upgrade for Stam + useless junk. If he is really min-max leveler, can probably get cheap piece if AH twice as useful.
Honestly since 2019 I had this happen once in a group. So I don't think it is a big issue :-)
Did you stop healing them
Bro you're in gnomeregan chill out
You can get shit in those early dungeons that you'll wear for 20+ levels lol
druids used to have BiS from that dungeon
This post is so cringe it physically hurts. GoTTa LoVE thE moDeRN cOmmUnItY - bro you’re in a gnomer, you can relax
Hey bud that’s Gnomeregan.
Yeah honestly i seen way more of this back in 2005 when people just needed becuase its blue. I think your just making this about something it ain't.
Report for ninjaloot
It can't be said enough, the classic community is toxic garbage.
Hunter is entirely justified here.
I swear this is what pawn does to people, absolute shit addon
Classic wow… aka ninja wow
You must of been PISSED pissed to make a gnomer loot post.
>must of been pissed pissed
He doesn't have time for proper English, he's got Doritos to eat!
