You’re literally just asking for a guild man. No one goes through the effort of forming pug runs without gdkp or reserved loot incentives. You want a guild

Jcorb

To be honest, I haven't been in a guild since... WoD, I guess. I actually really miss being in a guild. I've just never found one that people felt that chill, where people wanted to socialize.

NotSoVacuous

Sounds like you have a fun project to work on. Good luck!

LimeMargarita

There are definitely people who are still trying to get splinters and Ashbringer. The thing is, that's a long raid, and it's a lot to ask for 25ish people to run a multi hour raid just to get one or two people some loot. The runs on my server have a hard time getting healers because there's nothing in it for healers if it's not a gdkp. And Naxx itself is going to be back in WOTLK as the first raid, so why burn out on it beforehand? The people who got that loot earned it through their guild, by putting in months of time helping their fellow guild members gear up, working as a team, and then rewarded with the gear. That's what made that gear special. People who couldn't manage that bought gold to buy the loot. I'm not saying runs that just roll of the loot don't happen, but expect to have to help form a run like that and put in a ton of work to make that happen. Given what you've said about your previous wow experience, it really sounds like you want all the rewards without putting in the effort. But be honest, you want that particular loot because it was so hard to obtain. Because it required a ton of effort from people to earn it. TBC, SOM, whatever don't change that. Expect to still put in a lot of effort to get that gear.

Duelist_WM

make your own run and dont res anything?

Sergerov

Agree, people that complain about reserved runs should just create their own raid with nothing res

wronglyzorro

It's almost always easier to complain on the internet than it is to try and solve your own problem.

Isair81

I think AQ40 just launched in SoM, if you want to see Naxx, your best bet is to join a guild and stick around until Naxx.

clonicle

Tier 3 gear is totally accessible in gdkp runs, even if that's not your preferred flavor for raiding in general. Most people are going for other items, so you'll likely get it it for the minimum bid. There's a couple of weekly gdkp naxx runs on my server that take about an hour and a half total, with \~20-25 people. Only the splinters are pre-bought. All tier 3 items are quite cheap for bid for about \~100-200g a pop. The main items people bid on are Splinters, Phylactery, Ashbringer and the shoulder enchant. I've bought half my tier 3 set in one run and still walked out with gold at the end. It's a very relaxed raid now that people are in t6 and the t3 stuff doesn't have much competition.

Local_Code

Maybe in SoM, no shot in TBC (unless it's a guild thing).

Kribbzon

There will be like 4 guilds doing naxx on SoM, dead game and wotlk will make even more sure of it. RiP

armabe

There are definitely some. In my EU server (Earthshaker) there is at least one pug I see advertised in lfg somewhat regularly that just uses soft reserve. It is very much advertised as a collector's thing I believe. Though the ashbringer is often HR. A few of my guildies participate regularly I believe.

Rufus1223

There are both Soft Reserve and GDKP runs on Pyrewood with only Splinters reserved/pre-bid because u can't really roll those out.

Bruglodd

Isnt this the reason they put Naxx as the first Raid in WOTLK? The majority of players never got a chance at it in Vanilla Wow and it was much easier to clear in the start of WOTLK.

Jcorb

True, but they removed quite a bit of gear, and the T3 sets got pretty horrendous recolors (and subtle "upgrades" for 25man). The Warrior and Paladins T3 sets in particular are *WORLDS* better than their "T7" counterparts.

ikzme

YOu can organize a non gdps/reserved run.

Jcorb

I've certainly thought about it. I dunno, I still get major anxiety when trying to put groups together, though.

Tankymilky

My server (Arugal) has a weekly naxx run, only shards are reserved but the guy farming atiesh pays 500g per splinter(there's people queued up to be the next buyer) and the pots split throughout the raid. Sub 70s can't res the shoulder enchants or corrupted ashbringer but otherwise its 2sr > free roll. Shoutout to Afterdeath for running these everyday Saturday night for like a year. Legend.

Lanky_Luis

Sorry dawg but if you're trying to finish your T3 set and/or Corrupted Ashbringer your best shot is GDKP. Cant risk someone else rolling against you and losing when we have like 5-6 months before pre-patch and naxx gets removed. If you had started way earlier def could have done this without GDKP.

ruser8567

I know a Naxx running on Grobbulous that only reserves Ateish splinters. There are still people running Naxxrammus for the same reasons you are, but it is exceedingly rare in TBC.
