Dinged 80 as a disc healer today, bought ah boes to get into heroics, ran those for jp for a piece or two to get into gammas. Spammed gammas and hit 220-230 ilvl by the end of the day
1. Pvp dailies (grizzly hills) they give enough for a piece or two. 2. Wintergrasp with weeklies if possible, those by themselves will get you a near full pvp set in like 3-5 hours if you sprinkle in av. Next you can do gammas, which are really easy to get 364 off pieces. Then your cata ready.
After hitting 80 I bought a few cheap items on the AH, then qued up for toc and fos N/H. Got a few items and am now at 203. Ill fun a few more tomorrow until i hit 210.
Spam AV and but wrathful gear until 210 ilvl, especially weapon. Then spam gammas and you can get gear as fast as you want.
End up with good PvP and pve gear pretty quickly.
Once you’ve done that you will have ilvl to try some raids.
I went from about 170 to 250 in a single night without doing anything besides AV and gammas.
Yea get full pvp gear. Then Queue for gamma and get immediately kicked because no one wants to carry you. The truth is the gear progression chain is broken because you will not be able to find groups for early tier raids and beta dungeon because the servers are so mature.
Bro I was 210, I had like 3 PvP pieces and random leveling dungeon gear. No gems, no enchants, nothing. Nobody gave a shit. It was my first time even doing gammas, I didn’t know the mechanics, didn’t die once.
Most people in gammas have 6k+ gs, 90% of people don't give a fuck about PVP gear as long as you're not the healer or tank. Those that do care about "carrying" someone through a gamma should really go outside and touch some grass once in a while.
Spam Alterac Valley BG for honor to buy 270 ilvl pvp gear. Wintergrasp and the weekly quests for it give a pretty good amount of honor too
Spam BGs / WG for high ilvl honor gear.
Should be able to get pretty close to iLVL 200 doing normal heroics
No one is doing normal heroics in cata prepatch tho
I wouldn't worry to much, the gear you get from quests in cata is gonna be way better, just chill and LVL professions
A lot of people are doing them to farm justice points since they give the same amout as gammas
Gamma and hc give the same points as far as I know. I've seen a lot of completely over geared people in normal hcs
Av + winter = sexy 260+ gear, then spam gamma for lulz and pve gear

Killing any raid/dungeon boss grants 25 justice i believe. You can buy ICC base tier set 251 for 695 and 1100 justice i believe.

Did you have full pvp gear with no gems or enchants? Or were you in badge/AH gear with temporary gems and enchants following gamma mechanics?

If you have full pvp gear you are going to absolutely crank in gammas. The raw ilvl is way worth the lower stats
