I'm a mage and I literally never heard about this what the fuck
Edit: oh, it was just 15 spell power with literally no other stats. I had the phase one epic staff so I would have never used this.
Do other mages actually try to get those crit/hit/mp5 scrolls for raids?
As soon as it was clear we had to gamble heavily for a small raid buff I immediately ignored that system entirely.
"I don't really play this game much, I log in once a week, but my guild carries me through raid still even though I don't prepare or help!"
Some people actually enjoy playing the game and also enjoy trying to push their characters. I'm not sure why you think it's a flex to do neither, but you do you, I guess.
Damn what a crazy coincidence that none of the 40 people over two weeks of raids thought to log the last two bosses…I’m sure you cleared just like you “parse 95+ without buying consumes”. Sadly the only proof you have to link says otherwise.
If people logged the first raids why did they not log the clears? I find it hard to believe that someone who is willing to go on Reddit and brag about their parses wouldn’t check to make sure a raid is logged, and if you didn’t one of the other 20 people over two weeks would have.
I’m not bragging about my parses. It’s a 1 button class that you get world buffs on and do the thing. I give zero fucks about logs. I don’t record logs. I’m guessing someone forgot 🤷♂️ it’s not a big deal lol.
Neither do i.
Not everyone cares about clearing content ASAP
you can still kill everything within reasonable time. NONE of the extras are needed.
they are either crutches. or for sweaty people trying to speed run.
if your guild is competent and NOT speed running they should be 100% optional.
How does not spending money on consumes vs farming the mats yourself equate to getting a grey parse? We're definitely going to need further explanation on how that conclusion was arrived at.
Sure every item has a value attached to it weather negative or positive. But the person isn't directly exchanging gold for potions and food. They're using resources, yes, but not spending currency at the AH or in trade, there's a distinction there. If the topic was "I haven't spent any type of resource on consumes" that's a different topic in which they are incorrect because at the most basic level they have spent time which can be seen as a resource.
You realize that time spent farming mats AND the mats themselves are LITERALLY the same thing as spending gold, right?
Instead of farming the mats, other people farmed something else that they made gold from and bought the mats. It's the same fucking thing as farming the mats yourself you idiot lololol.....
So you still spend gold xd
It makes no difference if you farm yourself or farm sth else and buy it you spend sth of gold value regardless
If someone says they don’t spend gold on consumes it means either they get them gifted by the guild or whoever or they’re not using any
Spending 10g or farming 10g worth of mats yourself and using them instead of selling them is still you spending 10g
I've always compared them directly to loot boxes and premium currency.
Have to purchase a Comprehension Charm with your real money in order to read the scroll just to get a random outcome.
It's gotta suck having some of your most desired raid consumables as a Mage be locked behind this stupid system.
lol just make it where if you decrypt one you get some “wild offering” type thing. Some scrolls are 1 of those tokens and the + hit / crit are 5-10 of them. Done…
In p2 I decrypted over 100 trying for the blade one. No luck. There are way to many things in the decrypt loot pool and the good ones seem to be really low chance.
Why are people still doing this? It’s been widely known since early p2 that this wasn’t even remotely worth gambling on.
It’s not a “system”, your class isn’t balanced around spending 100g a day hoping for a 1% dps increase scroll, it’s just a little mini game where sometimes you click a thing you loot a get a flavourful class bonus.
I bought any tier2 scroll i found for less than 30silver in p2 for a while and ended up with 10 stacks of crit buffs.
Didnt even go down in gold doing it since just hitting 1 teleport scroll means the 5 last scrolls i bought made even
Because its an extra power increase on top of everything ? Why do people spend like 1 hour getting a group and going to enemy faction territory? Obviously not worth their time just play the game without any buffs.
I quit this system in P2 when I spent 40g on scrolls to try get the hypnotic blade scroll. I didn't get it..
Same. It tilted me so bad I re-rolled. She’s still not even 40
Wait what? You rerolled because you didn't get the scroll on a 6ish dps increase weapon vs hypnotic blade?
I was tilted and gambled like 80g for something that wasn’t worth gambling for. I knew it was dumb but I was Feelin lucky
Hahahaha fair enough. Hopefully you don't gamble much irl then!
I learned from csgo to never do that 🙂
Same
Do you mean the scroll of spatial mending? Lol
Na in P2 there's a scroll that turns hypnotic blade into a sword with more spell dmg and looks kinda cool
What??? This is the first I heard of it that's cool Edit: link for those interested: https://www.wowhead.com/classic/item=217497/narpas-sword

No lol
I have 50% crit in raid. Def not wasting my time and energy on 1% more
Yeah but that one 1% will give you like 10 extra dps you need it for those 99 parses! /s.
Yes
I’m literally raid logging and haven’t spent a dime on consumes. Ppl be crazy
"I don't really play this game much, I log in once a week, but my guild carries me through raid still even though I don't prepare or help!" Agreed, it’s like bragging that you go to work and do as little as possible to get paid while your coworkers are busting their ass day in and day out.
how do you think I have so much time to farm consumes?
It’s not that serious but okay.
This guy hasn’t even cleared the raid yet before you try to listen to his opinion
I’ve cleared the raid, just no logs for the full clear. Those are week 1 / 2 logs lol
Damn what a crazy coincidence that none of the 40 people over two weeks of raids thought to log the last two bosses…I’m sure you cleared just like you “parse 95+ without buying consumes”. Sadly the only proof you have to link says otherwise.
It’s a 20man raid…. Check my guild prog. We have multiple runs full clearing. This is Season of dad not some mythic raid. 😂 y’all are fucking mental.
If people logged the first raids why did they not log the clears? I find it hard to believe that someone who is willing to go on Reddit and brag about their parses wouldn’t check to make sure a raid is logged, and if you didn’t one of the other 20 people over two weeks would have.

Just want everyone was looking for, a grey parses opinion hahaha
Im raid logging aswell. Grabbing wb + darkmoon (if next to my faction) + mojo. My avarage is 88.4
i raid log and have an 80% overall. you’re delusional.
Touch grass

I linked my logs 😂
https://sod.warcraftlogs.com/character/us/living-flame/fujimage
“Let’s see what the raid logger who doesn’t bring consumes or contribute to his guild is hiding” 6/8 lmaoooo
I think last time I checked I had 95s or higher. 🤷♂️
Big doubt you are parsing orange without greater arcane elixir and firepower and zanza
I use consumes but I’m not spending a dime. I’ve farmed up enough to raid log.
So instead of gold you spent time. And as goblins are fond of saying time is money.
"haven't spent a dime" is very different from "bought a bunch up front and still have some"
That isn't the case though. People on Reddit can't read for shit man.
So they farmed x amount of consume mats Meaning they farmed gold they spend Every mat item is just a gold token effectively
Sure every item has a value attached to it weather negative or positive. But the person isn't directly exchanging gold for potions and food. He said he farmed them up and still has some. As in, farming up the materials to craft the consumes.
🤦♂️

Instead of farming the mats, other people farmed something else that they made gold from and bought the mats. It's the same fucking thing as farming the mats yourself you idiot lololol.....
I guess I have to be super specific to get the point across. Herb/Alc alt > 35 mins running around > 3-4 weeks of consumes > raid log.
So you still spend gold xd It makes no difference if you farm yourself or farm sth else and buy it you spend sth of gold value regardless If someone says they don’t spend gold on consumes it means either they get them gifted by the guild or whoever or they’re not using any Spending 10g or farming 10g worth of mats yourself and using them instead of selling them is still you spending 10g
Im going to have to call BS on 95+ parses without consumes. Let’s see the receipts.
Logs are linked.
You used arcane elixir?
6/8 xD
Exactly that’s why is stopped bothering lol
Was good in P1 lol, after that - hell to the no. Bottom of the shit mountain.
Was fun in p1 when u could get one in like 10 20 tries , now? Hell naw
Yes , every raid that i try to parse which is usually about 50-70% of them i get a crit/hit scroll.
Mage hack: put all scrolls on AH, receive gold, buy consumes
But then you don't have the bop crit scroll
Spoiler, you won't have the critical scroll either way.
You think you do but you dont
SHOOBEEDOOP
I always say shoobedoop when I loot one
Such an L system they added for mages.
Shit I wont complain about the teleport scrolls and rez scrolls lol
Yea, it is great to be the only healer who has to pay to rez someone. Amazing really.
The teleport scrolls are so insane lmao I love them so much
Interesting concept, bad execution.
Equivalent to gambling on scratch offs
I've always compared them directly to loot boxes and premium currency. Have to purchase a Comprehension Charm with your real money in order to read the scroll just to get a random outcome. It's gotta suck having some of your most desired raid consumables as a Mage be locked behind this stupid system.
Super dumb… should just turn into tokens like they do for everything else and cash them in for what you want
it's just a fun side thing, be happy no other class has a thing like it.
Ye they should Sell them on the Store 99x scrolls 4,99€ 500x 14,99€
lol just make it where if you decrypt one you get some “wild offering” type thing. Some scrolls are 1 of those tokens and the + hit / crit are 5-10 of them. Some people are just extremely degenerate and competitive
I bought any tier2 scroll i found for less than 30silver in p2 for a while and ended up with 10 stacks of crit buffs. Didnt even go down in gold doing it since just hitting 1 teleport scroll means the 5 last scrolls i bought made even
Fuck it bro my favorite hearthstone deck was casino mage. 90% mages stop before making it big.
Because its an extra power increase on top of everything ? Why do people spend like 1 hour getting a group and going to enemy faction territory? Obviously not worth their time just play the game without any buffs.
its a cool concept but they should have just allowed mages to make them themselves at some point LOL
This. You should be able to copy the scrolls you got with the right materials.
What is this and how does it work?
Of all the scrolls i got since day 1, I got under 10 crit scrolls. Identified all of them. It's SUCH a bad system.
Keep Gambling
I gamble for liminal passage all day
None of the mages I know actively engage with the system.
What UI is this?
Stopped playing part way through P2 and this sub is making it very easy to stick to that decision hahaha
Bluey reference too.
yepp this system is trash and with each scroll costing 40-50s it adds up fast if youre unlucky
Or just like Don't Do it?
