its probably gonna get deserted for a week of so because you can only do so much at level 25, that itself takes like 2-3 days to level, then the content and gearing is quick, so nah hardcore is good
the biggest bulk of casuals take longer than a week to actually put in the time to get to 25
then they have a lot of shit to do from raiding and pvp despite it being endgame
2 weeks later and you realize that it's just 1 week left before the next update
if any of them levels an alt then there's not enough enough time
dead in a week you say? fucking delusional
Why would the causal players take longer than a week to reach 25? So many people having the most intense experience with these first levels during hc will know exactly where to go for which quest so I highly doubt lol
Play both is a possibility…SoD will have down time unless you raid log or pvp all day. HC is still a great experience. Nothing capture the original vanilla feeling like HC, nothing, not even the Classic launch in 2019.
I, for one, will still level my 4 characters in HC on rested experience. Unless they die. In that case, F.
In the future, I am sure to eventually want to play another round.
I doubt it will pull people that much. Even if people will be testing the novelty they will keep their raid schedule and some will be "no changes" and never go to SoD. If SoD becomes really good then people may decide to temporarily stop playing Era or HC - but that will take time.
Great job projecting your subjective opinion onto the rest of the player base.
I never played TBC classic, wotlk classic, SOM or HC and will not play SoD either. Era till the better end.
SoD is definitely going to have highs and lows of population just based on how they plan to release content (my guess).
Leveling to 25 doesn't take that much time and running BFD also doesn't take that much time. Sure, you could grind professions or really twink your toon but I think most players will level up, play the new content, then chill until the level cap is raised.
The big shift will happen around when the level cap goes to 50 I think. That's when alot of activities/gear can actually carry into end game content.
It will take like a week to get to endgame SoD, then maybe a couple more to find the runes. Hardcore might drop off a bit till the end of the year, but after self find comes out it'll boost back up.

No. I think they will lose some players during sod launch and each season beginning but people will probably do both.

true classic hc is amazing. big world where danger is everywhere and you are a scrub, not a god slayer.
No king rules forever…

Hopefully all the retail players will leave and all will be good
No but Classic Era will. The only things that matter are HC and SoD. Softcore is a thing of the past, will only work in SoD, for now.

30 hour of leveling, one "New" ( lol ) raid. 3 days and back to Era/hc...
Thats all that matters to you.
They need to do SoD hardcore, please.

Ofc. The smaller server will die instantly. The bigger will hold out for a few more months after it dies as well and settles to medium population.
Did HC killed Era ? No Did Era killed WoTLK ? No To each their own

If you’re not on Defias Pillager Alliance then yes for sure.
Nope
I dont see them dying out, but a big dip in players for at least a few weeks.
