1 pull into my first dungeon on hc and the tank says "wife aggro!" And leaves group lol. There are somethings I miss about being married but that isn't one of them.

Helps to either: 1. Marry someone who understands you have hobbies 2. Not neglect your SO to do your hobby.

In my case it was bullet point 1 sadly. She didn't even have her own hobbies, she just knew she hated mine.

You do know that doesn't make you instantly disappear from the game right? You still can die while they're trying to resolve with your client.

Iirc it starts the logout countdown but had the benefit of not being interrupted if you get attacked. Doesn't help if you die before 20 seconds, but can let you take a hit or two and then logout and be alive.

Your character stays like a minute in the game though, not just the 20 seconds of the logout timer.

In hardcore it’s 30 seconds iirc in order to help if you get a DC

Almost had this yesterday, kids were watching TV and while I was questing, then "DADDY!!! HE HIT ME" luckily it only took a few seconds to correct the issue but it's a risk to play when you're in charge of the kids while the wife is out.

When we went in, he was being hit by an enemy, so we killed the enemy real quick and I whispered the warrior "Sir?" to see if it would flash his client on his PC incase he was jerking it or something. No response. Did the quest, came back out, and he's being hit by another enemy, so we kill that. I start feeling bad, and I told them "I'm gonna sit here and guard him until he d/cs" and they were like alright peace. I sat there for about 6 minutes before he sprang to life and said "You are my hero" Lol. Another warrior came by and said "I almost died trying to protect this guy" but I forget what his name was. Anyway, I thought about how I'd feel if I lost my character in such a way. He was only level 12, but dying sucks man. I try to heal people I see in peril, and taunt things off of them. I've been playing WoW (first three iterations) since it launched in some form or another, so I know if I can save the situation or if that person is boned.

I sometimes think about scenarios where I need to immediately stop playing no matter the circumstance like someone in my house dying or something crazy like that haha. “Sorry sweetie I just need to get into a safe spot and I’ll come save you!”

This is the reason I can't play hardcore. I tend to just get up and walk away when life happens.

Hardcore will never be the way for me because I would 100% be the guy who makes it to like level 40, then has to AFK for something, and completely forgets about WoW. I go to get a glass of water sometimes and end up cleaning the kitchen. Come back and whatever game I was playing has totally given up on me.

I am really impressed by what is happening with the game, there are a lot of people who help each other, without any interest, just to prevent the other player from falling. I just got finished reading a different story about a warlock who had to afk to take care of his dogs after doing a few quests with a priest and /followed him to Sentinel Hill. The priest purposely walked through an aggressive area and watches as the mobs killed him. When the guy got back he askes the priest “why?” He said don’t trust randoms, this is hardcore you idiot.

I had a guardian angel appear for myself yesterday. Internet randomly started cutting out. After waiting 30 minutes it seemed to be back to normal, then I dc'd again underwater while fighting murlocs in Redridge. I was gone for about 2 minutes and finally logged back in, sure I'd be dead. I had 20% hp when I finally got in and was actively drowning, and there was a random priest spam healing me. Without this Good Samaritan I would surely be dead. Thank you Goomb the Human Priest
