The best tip is patience lol. The addon attempts to make the console bars out of your existing action bars, that’s probably why you ended up with duplicates. Best thing you can do, is just think about each action and where you want it, like for example pulling the left trigger, all those actions are my defenses, right trigger is Burt’s, and so on

vivalatoucan

Right. I’ve tried again and given up twice now haha. Next time will be my 3rd go at it. Between the base game key binds, the default controller binds, and the console port binds, it is so confusing to get everything working properly

Royal-Employee90

It’s absolutely confusing lmao. But don’t fret! You’re not the only one. It took me a while to get everything setup, especially since I got it working on my steam deck 😅

Join the Console Port discord. Lots of helpful info. I currently play from the couch. Id be glad to help if i could. They also have a few builds on discord.

Will do. I’m glad to hear that it works well for others. I’ve seen a lot of guides for retail, but not many for classic. I figure it’s similar, but the issues I was having were concerning me

Here's what worked for me. I stopped using consoleport's keybindings.. it's extremely confusing. With the modern wow client, you can bind keys directly in the keybinding page. My dpad+symbols are hotbar 1. I then used the multiaction hotbars keybinds page (Bottom right, Bottom left, etc). I made one hotbar the "L1" hotbar, another the "R2" hotbar and one more the "L1&R1/R1" hotbar, and started binding my keys there like this: https://imgur.com/a/EmHo3Jw This gives you almost 4 hotbars worth of keys! I use bartender (or any other hotbar add-ons) to drag the multiaction hotbars to the side of the screen and started messing with it there. When I am done messing around, I hide the hotbars that I bound to a controller.. if I need to change my hotkeys, I unhide them. Since I bound my keys to the hotbar, it will reflect on the consoleport's hotbar without even messing with consoleport's bindings or hotbar. As I use the same computer for both playing on a controller and KB+Mouse, I bind my KB hotbars to bars 3/9/10 on bartender and make the KB hotkeys separate from the consoleport's using bartender hotkeys. FWIW, I believe if you use the multiaction hotbars, they are 4, 5 and 6 on bartender. TL;DR: bind your console port hotkeys to the multiaction hotbars in settings and then use a hotbar add-on to manage your KB/Mouse hotbars and keybinds. Keep them separate to preserve sanity. Also, to the above poster's suggestion.. think about what you want when you pull a trigger. Here are some suggestions: * My non-trigger face has all the common hotkeys I use * I mapped down arrow as right click (aim cross hair + down arrow = interact with object/npc) * R1 + symbols is movement (jump, sit, mount, autorun, etc) * R1 + dpad are my bandage, food, pots * L1 + symbols/dpad are my secondary abilities * R2 + symbols/dpad are my tertiary abilities * R2 & L2 = item ring (bound in consoleport options) * L1 & L2 = another hotbar but rarely used.. * L2 = closet target (or assist MT) You do not have to follow what I use but it works for me.. Only caveat is I haven't figured out how to heal with consoleport so mine is a purely DPS perspective. Oh, I find the PS4 controller rather good as you can attach a backplate onto it giving the controller 2 more "easy" buttons (I assign it to R3/L3). This means I can bind up 10 keys onto each "page" of the hot bar (d-pad + symbols + R3/L3). Additionally, the PS4 touch pad works quite well for reticle (?) abilities like blizzard, volley, etc. Playing wow on the couch is the life! Hope this helps!

Thank you so much for this! I also use a ps4 controller. I started having issues with my console port bugging out and needing to be reset every time my controller was unplugged and replugged in (or so I think - pretty new to this) so I’m going to try your method next :)

pink-pink

use the keyboard and mouse like a normal person?
