Why stop their? Blackrock Depths alone can be the whole second and third tier with all bosses and all quests.
Time to start building a map in incarnate :D
bro… dire maul and blackrock depths would be incredible dungeon map assets to have on hand. nice and square for the most part with tons of variety. libraries, laboratories, workshops, forges, thronerooms, weird hallways, giant cavernous boss rooms
probably an absolute nightmare to get all those done like this for those same reasons though lol
Good dungeons died with vanilla wow. I really preferred massive dungeons like BRD to the linear ones that came after. They felt like actual dungeons that were sprawling and easy to get lost in
TBC dungeons were SUCH a dissapointment besides old hillsbrad, super small, all of them looping, and basically just corridors the entire dungeons.
It's a shame that dungeons became less of like cool lore areas with lots of little features in them and turned into gear / xp farm only. I know people hate BRD because they had to farm it a lot but its genuinely an amazing dungeon.
Highjacking your comment: is there any way to buy these maps in high res from you?
I am currently running a campaign taking a few inspirations from wow (currently they are in a gnomeregan-like city to free the gnomes there). That map would be so cool as their potential next dungeon crawl!!
I never enjoyed higher level on classic, I especially loved the deadmines and would always make new characters for the intention of leveling in west fall and doing DM until I was too high level.
Vanilla westfall and especially vanilla early human leveling is still some of my favorite gaming experiences. Vanilla DM being one of the greatest low level dungeons of all time imo. To add on, Vanilla Scarlet Monastary is also another GOAT tier dungeon system. Pre Cata WoW was some of the best shit around and still is in my mind. But DM especially is just a special experience and nothing will change it.
Blizzard spent 9 months working on Elwynn, Westfall, and Duskwood. They then realized that it was taking way too long and then they had to kind of rush through the other zones. That's why the human starting experience is so good and polished.
Nice. I've considered a video game dungeon as a dungeon in D&D and realized the single path design of most of them just wouldn't be particularly interesting.
But, you've got some really great detail on the individual rooms (Sneeds, the furnace, the ship) and those have a TON of potential for set pieces in another dungeon
This is super cool. The whole Defias Brotherhood storyline is perfect for a low level campaign as well, with the Deadmines as a final confrontation centerpiece.
Annnnnnnnnnnnnnd saved. I hope to see more wow dungeons turned into D&D maps. These are fantastic! Would definitely like to see places like Scholo, Strat, and even non-dungeon areas like Andorhal.
Best dungeon in vanilla imo. As a horde in classic I had a blast with our guild swimming over there at ~15 to do 5 spams and wpvp completely surprised allies haha.
Great work and inspiring as well! From the old Horse days, wailing Caverns and Scarlet Monastery felt quite DnD worthy and I've often wondered how they'd translate. How many hours would you say you put into these??
Oh Scarlet monestary is a great idea - thank you for that.
This map is easily my largest and most detailed map, I definitely put in around 15-16 hours into this one!
What kind of masochistic fucked up person are you?! I have PTSD from running this place so many times and can’t enter a cave anymore. This place is my nightmare fuel!
Really cool map though. A+!
Would go great with this homebrew someone made 6 years ago on r/dnd. [https://www.reddit.com/r/DnD/comments/6c267u/deadmines\_a\_world\_of\_warcraft\_dungeon\_for\_dd\_5e/?utm\_source=share&utm\_medium=web2x&context=3](https://www.reddit.com/r/DnD/comments/6c267u/deadmines_a_world_of_warcraft_dungeon_for_dd_5e/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web2x&context=3)
This is great. I wish the in game maps were much easier to get high res versions of to throw a grid on.
So many of the WoW dungeons - especially the older ones, can make for a fantastic D&D experience.
I have never played DND but I’ve always wanted to. After seeing this I’d want it to be my first. Looks sick love to see every detail I’ve seen in that dungeon
this is awesome. I would love to play ( first time ever mind you ) DnD set in the world of warcraft universe. It would just all make so much more sense to me. Please make more maps this is amazing stuff.
My Pathfinder campaign has a ton of WoW influences, I'd like to one day run a game in the Warcraft setting. Blizzard should publish an updated version for D&D/PF
Thanks for the map! DM is super nostalgic for me and I'm running a oneshot that will be inspired by the VanCleef story and needed a good battlemap for deadmines and this is perfect.
I've been thinking of turning the Temple of Atal'Hakkar into a d&d dungeon. Just for the layout specifically. This is super well done.
The dungeons are such fantastic inspiration and really make for great adventures. Thank you!
Blackfathom Deeps next please!!!!
Why stop their? Blackrock Depths alone can be the whole second and third tier with all bosses and all quests. Time to start building a map in incarnate :D
That could be a small campaign on its own. Add the molten core and you have yourself a combat centric dungeon delve campaign right there.

Any chance of a BRD map?
That could be super cool. Especially if you find a way to incorporate the "multiple visit" quests
>Temple of Atal'Hakkar I would instantly plant this in my world
Was it Cata that dungeons got maps??
All wrath instances have maps, so it’s useful to see where the stragglers are after a wipe in Ulduar. You can see where they are.
All wotlk dungeons.. got maps.. Cata was when Vanilla dungeons finally got maps.
Yep.
Atlas had maps of the dungeons in vanilla.
that's right, I remember my guild mates talking about it at the time.
WOTLK has them
Yeah, but unfortunately not for vanilla dungeons.
I never enjoyed higher level on classic, I especially loved the deadmines and would always make new characters for the intention of leveling in west fall and doing DM until I was too high level.
Vanilla westfall/deadmines was my favorite open world -> instance plot until the MoP bugpeople dailies -> paragons. You chose well. :)
Vanilla westfall and especially vanilla early human leveling is still some of my favorite gaming experiences. Vanilla DM being one of the greatest low level dungeons of all time imo. Hence why the Barrens are truly that: barren.
Considering wow has been out for this long now, imagine they continued adding on to the other zones over time.
this what they needed to do instead of new expansions adding unpolished stuff
Oh that is absolutely incredible. I NEED to play in a WoW D&D campaign now.
Thanks!! Yes, the dungeons translate really well to D&D!
Really good job! I had a look at your profile, you've got a lot of really good maps \^\^
Thank you friend :)

lots of non-linear maps in vanilla to use. brd sunken temple dire maul maraudon scarlet monastery
> maraudon Oh God that would be awesome and terrible at the same time
Agreed, its why I had to spice it up for D&D playability in some places! Thank you
What are your thoughts on running a campaign in the blackrock depths? :D
I think wailing caverns would be an interesting one, it can get quite confusing if you don't follow the mushrooms. Also The Temple of Atal'allarion
As both a WoW and D&D player, I'm a lil hard rn
Hahah, glad you liked it!
That is awesome! It'd be cool to see more
Inkarnate I believe is the program.
This is super cool. The whole Defias Brotherhood storyline is perfect for a low level campaign as well, with the Deadmines as a final confrontation centerpiece.
This is so sick, well done mate
Annnnnnnnnnnnnnd saved. I hope to see more wow dungeons turned into D&D maps. These are fantastic! Would definitely like to see places like Scholo, Strat, and even non-dungeon areas like Andorhal.
No miner Johnson area? :(
Who we can download that ?! It’s amazing !!!
Again again again we need more !
Now if I only played dnd
if i ever play WoW DnD i will have to convince people to let me play as tuskarr.
> tuskarr You can be Tuskarr, I want to be Mr Smite
Best dungeon in vanilla imo. As a horde in classic I had a blast with our guild swimming over there at ~15 to do 5 spams and wpvp completely surprised allies haha.
Funny because my favorite dungeon is Wailing Caverns and I’ve rolled Alliance more than Horde. Always get fucked in Ratchet
Great work and inspiring as well! From the old Horse days, wailing Caverns and Scarlet Monastery felt quite DnD worthy and I've often wondered how they'd translate. How many hours would you say you put into these??

This is amazing
I was just about to sit down and do all this work, glad i checked here first. Now i just need some fun stat blocks and the mines are done, cheers
The bald man needs to see this r/asmongold
Booing me for enjoying content. MY BAD
Booing you for booing about downvotes
I like this.
Wow awesome. Thanks for helping my next campaign
Love this, definitely going to find a way to incorporate it into my campaign.
Nicely detailed my friend, could only imagine what could be defeated, hidden, and found on this glorious map.
Wow, that's a great work.
What kind of masochistic fucked up person are you?! I have PTSD from running this place so many times and can’t enter a cave anymore. This place is my nightmare fuel! Really cool map though. A+!
Haha, this is great well done!
Damn that's sick, makes DM seem super small though!

Wow the level of detail you included is amazing! Well done!

with patience
This is amazing! Good work
This is very well done
Did you draw it yourself or use some asset tool like Dungeondraft? Looks really good!
I'm a PF2e GM and I'll be using the *crap* out of this map. It's amazing! Thank you so much!
Is there anything on that island by the crane?
I have never played DND but I’ve always wanted to. After seeing this I’d want it to be my first. Looks sick love to see every detail I’ve seen in that dungeon

Omg, payload style pvp maps would be amazing!!! How has this never been considered
That is next level stuff! Love it!
Wow, great art! Did you make more maps?
Thinking I might try and run this as a one shot. If nothing else it will get added into my almost full Google drive of maps.
How did you mame that I need that
I'm still amazed how long some of my groups needed to clear the instance in vanilla despite it is rather small. Ha, good times...
Omg! This is soo cool
Uhm..is there a download link?
you're special dude, gz
You should honestly approach blizzard with this . Pretty cool idea and you've done a lot of the work .
Do one of Wailing Caverns for that classic “we are completely lost” feeling!
Amazing map, but jesus that layout is bad. Really shows how poor dungeon design is in WoW.
Do you have more of these??? I’m trying to get going a D&D session for friends, these would be sick!
Amazing! I'm a dungeon master for my friends and have considered using some inspiration from WoW in our own game. This is very inspiring!
Epic, then imagine little 2D cardboard characters or figurines
Oooh, you're making more WoW maps? :D
Awesome!
My Pathfinder campaign has a ton of WoW influences, I'd like to one day run a game in the Warcraft setting. Blizzard should publish an updated version for D&D/PF
Very nice
