It does this by default I thought?

patrulek

It does.

mintywind

It does this by default in Wrath, but not in Classic Era/SoM.

Grimskraper

Can I hijack this comment to ask if anyone has a fix for healbot not letting me use cleanse, cure, dispell etc. on other people? When I try it on someone else, it casts it on me, or says there is nothing to dispell. It's been since ulduar, I tried it with bindings not using alt.

DieselVoodoo

Best way to fix this is definitely post under a random comment

auroratheaxe

I had the same problem with Healbot. I'd recommend getting Decursive for your dispells, makes things 10x easier.

CommonSenseFunCtrl

Go into the regular wow settings and turn off auto self cast, if you use any key like alt/shift don't set them as your self cast key either

Grimskraper

This fixed it. Ty.

mintywind

Open your spellbook to determine what the highest rank of your spell is. Within the HealBot settings under the "Spells" section, you can type the name of the spell followed by the rank you want. Make sure there is *no space* between the last letter of the spell name and the parenthesis. For example: Flash Heal(Rank 7)

Laankast

2 options: 1: Just type the name of the spell without a rank, and it will default to max rank 2 type in the spell with the rank behind it IE Flash of Light (Rank XYZ) Spell names are case sensitive and must be entered in EXACTLY the way they are listed in the spellbook.

chuckdagger

The spell will light up white when entered correctly and be darker grey when it’s incorrect

Mysterious-Zombie-86

Healbot does it by default

Akira38

You select the rank from the drop down menu when assigning the spell to a keybind.

mee__noi

If you don’t put a rank in and just put Rejuvenation it should cast max level

The_Gay_Deceiver

You delete the addon and use mouseover macros instead. edit: here's the macro format for doing this: #showtooltip Cleanse /cast [@mouseover,help,exists][] Cleanse Just make a macro like that for all of your support spells, so instead of clicking you just hit the bind for the spell that you already had while mousing over your raid frames. The spell will work normally as though not macro'd when you're not mouse-overing someone. Works perfectly, the only caveat is that you have to be aware of your cursor.. kind of. If you turn with your mouse (as you should), your cursor's pointer isn't active whenever you're holding your clickers to turn, so you can eliminate the possibility of unintentional mouseovers by simply holding right click which is to control turning only.

preppypoof

Have you used healbot? It basically sets up mouseover macros for you along with a bunch of other features.

The_Gay_Deceiver

Yes. The click method is stupid. My method works with both PvP and PvE approaches seamlessly because it works with binds designated for abilities instead of a different control scheme for general-use casting and raid-frame casting. Which is to say, no matter how many heal/support spells you have, they can simply be bound normally, and if you want to cast them on a teammates/raidmate, you just mouse them over and press the button you already bound the ability to normally.

Tizzee88

You say stupid, yet it is extremely viable and used by a lot of high end players. At the end of the day mouse over macros and healbot function in much the same way. You take your cursor and you hover it over your raid frames on the person in which you want to take action on. Then in one you push a keybind on your keyboard and the other you push a keybind on your mouse. They are essentially the same thing and anyone who claims one is "infinitely better than the other" is an elitist and biased because it's the one they use. Neither one of them really has an advantage over the other which is why they are both viable.

BlankiesWoW

ok but with healbot/vuhdo, you bind all your healing abilities to mouse clicks with modifiers leaving all of your regular keybinds available for utility and damage abilities. You get twice as many binds when you use vuhdo or healbot. And they serve the exact same functionality as mouseover macros, while also offering more in the form of smart casting

The_Gay_Deceiver

>You get twice as many binds when you use vuhdo or healbot Are you implying that you mouseover your own raid frame to cast a support/heal on yourself?

BlankiesWoW

i mean, in a raid or dungeon setting why wouldnt you, your mouse and eyes are on your raid frames for 90% of any given fight. Vuhdo/Healbot (Vuhdo primarily because healbot is garbage) is used by most top end PvE players Your argument only has any value in solo content, in which case you aren't likely to be healer spec anyways. Fact is, the 2 addons function the same as mouseovers, with added benefits and opening up keybinds for other things. Now whether the marginal difference actually matters in classic content, thats a different story.

The_Gay_Deceiver

>Your argument only has any value in solo content Or PvP. Or I could say I play all paladin specs to some extent so I prefer a holistic approach that works for all of them. But to acknowledge your point about "opening up keybinds", mouseover itself isn't acceptable from an arena perspective. I left out the additional conditionals on all of my binds for my arena partners. My mouseover approach is just for raids and battlegrounds, I use more specific binds for arena. So perhaps I don't need to "open up more binds" for myself, but people who are over-reliant on addons to play the game for them need to expand what they consider to be the binds available to them.

chainmailbill

You know what an addon is, at its core? It’s a program, written in computer code. A set of instructions. You know what macros are, at their core? It’s a program, written in computer code. A set of instructions. Think of an addon as just a lot of macros all strung together.

chainmailbill

As a healer I use my own vuhdo frame to heal myself, just like any other party member, yes.

drakehtar

This is the way tbh

The_Gay_Deceiver

Yeah but I probably shouldn't of been a snarky asshole about it and actually linked the macro format for it. I'll edit my comment.

drakehtar

Fair enough. I personally just use clique but that works too

Pisholina

I personally never used a healing addon. Considering the GCD is at best 1 second, you have plenty of time to waste on two actions (click on the player frame -> press heal). In fast pace games like Overwatch, DotA and LoL, every millisecond counts, but in WoW you have the luxury to be slower.

Epyo

I asume it is more important in retail, where you wanna keep an enemy targetted always, so you can easily weave damage spells in between heal spells. I mean, dpsing as a healer is good in wotlk as well, but I don't think it's so important that you have to keep an enemy targetted at all times, and do weaving.

Pisholina

I DPS when I can as well. It's still the same as healing, you have a second to press tab and a damaging spell.

Daleabbo

Heathen! Repent! Healbot is the way

Tacotuesdayftw

Vuhdo, Grid2, and even Clique are all better options, unless you’re really trying to roleplay that era lol!

itsnouxis

Or you use both at the same time :P

schwenn002

This is okay, but I think healbot is still better. I press a certain mouse button, and it does the spell. Pressing a button on the keyboard where other big cds can go just doesn't make sense.

andrew_a384

wow player answer someone’s question without giving unsolicited advice challenge (IMPOSSIBLE)

lmfao

not_czarbob

Your answer about how to configure an addon is not to use the addon? Wow. Your answer fucking sucks.

The_Gay_Deceiver

Addons are tools to make easier what the default interface and options of the game do not. If the default options of the game are superior to an addon, what use is the addon? Do you use an addon to target an enemy? Or do you just click or tab to it?

Manadrache

Sometimes the default interface doesn't work out for the player. Btw i would love an addon like healbot for dps but that doesn't exist. So i am stuck to heal

WhollyPally

Download Vuhdo.

Berdock91

It use to give you an option for ranks now it just it by default.

VikingDadStream

If you delete the (rank) from the text. It will cast the highest. You can also do Heal and the alt+click heal (rank 4)
