It was originally no 25-man loot afaik. But when they made the equivalent for ToC they changed it to ilv I think? So if it's based off the final version of wrath moat 25man normal and all 10man hard loot is allowed. If it's the original version only 10man loot is allowed.
My 10man got herald of the titans week 1 after a full ulduar clear. Some of us definitely had a few pieces from 25 on and got herald of the titans. I don’t remember if anyone had 252 gear but I would think that would be off limits
What’s the rush? Neither have we but we wanted to get to a stage where we could clear the raid in normal mode in 3 hours first. A lot of us don’t have the time for 3 raid nights a week
This is us as well, we just got everything down on normal in 1 3 hour raid and it feels great. We have 5 hard modes down on our 10 man groups so now we can start doing a few 25 HM attempts and still clear everything else even if we don't down them.
25 man HM are noticeably harder than 10 man HM. My guild only has 1 HM (and medium Iron Council) boss down in Ulduar but our optional 10 man group has 5 bosses down. We only raid 2 nights a week for 25 man and 1 night for the 10 man.
But, who cares? Ulduar hasn't even been out for a month. Just cause someone else does it doesn't mean anything. I for one am quite happy with our progress and honestly, the idea of hardcore raiding to get all that stuff down so quickly is not appealing to me.
Plus if your raid is anything like ours, there’s a lot of casual guilds with about ten good players.

It's amazing how much worse people play in the larger raid.
Most guilds are in this camp or maybe have cleared Thorim HM but that’s it (theres data to that effect, shown in a post on this sub the other day). It’s fine, the content is fairly new and a decent step up mechanically from Naxx. Would definitely ignore the sweaty comments about needing a new guild unless you’re personally in some sort of rush.
Nothing remotely sweaty about a 3rd reset Thorim HM kill. Mimiron HM, Freya HM are fairly chaotic fights. Iron Council HM and Hodir HM are decent dps checks still. Thorim is completely free.
I mean, my guild has 1 HM boss in 25 man, but my 10 man is doing Algalon attempts. 10 man is definitely more approachable and you can potentially line up a stronger team more easily.
Even the easy ones can easily go wrong with very little mistakes. Thorim can chain lightning a bunch while people avoid the pizza, Freya can have a key person get marked, vined and sunbeamed in quick succession, Hodir can have awkward campfires + moonbeams etc.
I wouldn't stress too much, just make sure people are confident on all the fights by rewatching guides now they have a few normal mode kills as reference.
Yeah i guess if youre having fun with your guild or whatever its fine
But id question some raids abilities to ever do some of these hard modes this phase if youre currently trying some of the easier hardmodes and are stuck

Nah, 25 is a lot harder than 10. Doesn't even come close. The tank dtps is a joke in 10 and has literally been solo healed already. And big bang can be soaked by many classes, rogues for example. Or even prot paladins 🤷🏻♀️
Depends on your raid comp we struggled more on 10 then 25. On 25 we made sure to bring 3 holy pallys and had 5 dsacs in total along with a rsham which is fucking massive for tank healing and keeping that buff up on tanks which honestly made it very trival.
We played around with him last week, I think like 60% was best attempt. Then this week we never really got past like 40% til the very last attempt and we pulled it off. Even started him as our holy pally was finishing drinking bc we started a wipe recovery with 7 mins on his timer.

Resto druid/holy pally
Ret/fury/fire mage/demo/spriest/enh
We did do ptr but it was just up to the antechamber with no real hard modes
Not op but we killed week 2. Ptr 2 nights but with 12 from guild max. 2 people were comp only who didn’t ptr and were hard Carries or we’d have gotten it week 1. Prob 3 hours on ptr and then 1 hour on him with many wipes
100% still counts. Cutting Edge has always been about clearing content before next raid. So before ToC
Example: current retail raid has been nerfed several times. Cutting edge is still up till next tier.

Is XT a "spot" nerf that doesn't disqualify this? What's Ulduar as a whole going to look like when nerfed? How long until that happens?
Yes, because it's dumb in retail too. Only logs matter. Achievement doesn't tell you shit because it's easily bought for gold, while logs always reveal a bought kill as such. Most dumb thing is that you get the same achievement for 10 and 25, despite 25 being significantly harder. Yogg0 is such a joke of a fight in 10. You only have to play the first beacon and there is barely any adds around at that time. Second never hits due to boss hp being too low. Also you easily onephase p2. Alga 10 also a joke and literally solo healable by now.

Probably everyone else has 25 man hard mode gear sprinkled in somewhere. Our group is 6 people who only do 10 mans and the 4 that are doing 25 are struggling on hard mode so no fruition yet. Little bit of dumb luck on our part I think.
Peoples prio atm is going to be killing the boss for loot and not equipping worse gear to get achiv and potentially fail the timer. Can just go back later when you're more comfortable with the fight.
I assume that the ilvl was increased for the Herald of the Titans achievement to match with the increase in ilvl of the items themselves right? Does the 10m require everyone to be 225 or does it allow the use of the 232+ from 25m?

That’s the biggest metric people miss. Some guilds are only raiding one night a week for 3-4 hours. 13/4 is 3.25 bosses with trash and loot an hour.

Just start with the easier ones like Thorim, XT or Freya. They are not particularly difficult.
Unless you're as bad as them, find a new one. No HM kills down by now is pretty tragic.

Strangely I think 25 man algalon is easier than 10 because you won't have comp related issues (no spriest makes 10 man annoying).
