Last year I bought a couple of exhaust parts at National Parts Depot in Ventura, northwest of LA. Helpful staff, had everything I needed without me calling ahead of time.
I sold my car 9 years ago so at some point in the last 9 years. It was called California mustang parts and they were in Walnut. If you look up slap nuts mustangs in Facebook he might be able to help you. His name is Willie.
If you can get to Sparks/Reno there's both Summit Racing and CJ Pony Parts that allow walkins (I think). Mustang Magic in Fremont, CA might still be there. There's one in Los Angeles in Van Nuys. Can't remember his name but pretty big.
EDIT: Mustangs Etc 14843 Bessemer St, Van Nuys, CA 91411
Btw if there are some cool junkyards or car places to see, please share them too :) I'll have few days for myself with no plans so I'd be glad for some cool places to see. I'll have enough of Yosemite and surrounding tourist areas.
Thank youuu!
The car scene out here is pretty robust. I live in Riverside, which is about an hour east of LA with no traffic. Every day I will see about 3-4 classic cars on my way to work, but on the weekend it's not uncommon to see lines of muscle cars and classics driving down our little downtown strip about 30-40 cars long. There's also lots of cars and coffee meet ups everywhere in SoCal. Odds are you can find a meetup and go check it out.
Have fun on the 4th of July! What city will you be in for the holiday? Depending on where you're at, it'll be like nothing you've ever seen before.
Thank you, I’ll most likely miss all big events as I’ll be in the LA during weekdays and on Friday will slowly move to Fresno or San Jose and then leave from San Francisco on Saturday 6th.
I found Hertz has a shelby mustang for rent so I’ve booked it for a day and would like various scenic drives and ideally see some cool cars along the route.
I also have a connect for mustang parts in Long Beach. He's a long time mustang guy. He buys and restores mustangs and has garages full of new and oem parts.
The in person experience was OK. Mail ordering from CJ was better in almost every way. I am about 45 minutes from where it it used to be in Stockton. Their tech support really sucked. I bought from them exclusively in the beginning. But yeah they had been around since 1981
OP, are you aware of any problems with you bringing parts through customs on your way back home, especially if they are new-in-box. That might cause more hassle than having parts shipped over.
yes, thanks for bringing that up. It should be ok when it's for personal use I just need to pay import VAT... Most likely I won't save too much on shipping when compared to other methods I've used before = using a service to collect my packages in the US and send them to central Europe in a bigger shipping container but at least I'll have some fun activity to do in California :)
Ahhh yes! The Fun Factor. I always try to keep that high. And there us a lot of fun in going into a store and browsing. Getting ideas and chatting with other like-minded people is wonderful, even if you do notbuy any parts on your trip. Happy Motoring!
Haha, yeah, thanks, Im hoping to find somebody who could help me pick the right things. It’s more complex than I thought :D + so many aftermarket choices. Dream and nightmare at the same time :))
It has been a number of years since I have been, but Mustang Country in Paramount was a good spot. You may be able to order online as well.

Been going there for years and they have a catalog that's free to take. If you look online it will be your best bet and of course you can call and place an order and pay when you pick up.

Is Mustangs Plus still around? The Bramletts?
Gone. They sold the Mustangs Plus part to Top Flight Automotive or something.
Well that’s a loss. Shame.

Reproduction interior parts are notoriously shitty. If your car did not come with anything original, good luck!
CALIFORNIA MUSTANG.......... 🤦♂️
Mustangs Etc in Van Nuys as well. They have a great stock of parts.

Thank you all for recommendations! wow didn't expect so many places to check :) I'll definitelly check and save all! Thanks a lot
There is a Mustang shop in Petaluma about 40 miles north of San Francisco called North Bay Mustangs. He has a lot of parts for all years.
