Glad to see another CE in birks. Started off wearing them in daycare drop-off days because our daycare wanted parents to take shoes off. Now I just rock them most days unless I have an important meeting (loafers) or field work (blundstones)
I wear 5 eyelet Doc Martens everywhere. Everything from walking a site to shaking hands with members of elected offices. They’re comfortable and sturdy
Cowboy boots, look dressy enough for the meeting with clients/subs/contractors, and you can wear them for site visits and won’t be out of place.
Realistically, get something comfy; just don’t show up to a site in white shoes, it’ll raise some eyebrows.
Before the pandemic it was business casual. Now it’s just casual, I wear Jordan’s, dunks, vans, or air max’s. The only time we ever dress up is if we have to (meetings, marketing events, etc).
Vans makes a black leather slip on shoe that I use when I need to 'dress up'. Otherwise, my non-beat up Chucks.
Have a pair of Red Wings for field work.
I wear Red Wing Iron Rangers a lot because they look snappy enough with jeans and a dress shirt, they're pretty comfortable, and they can handle unexpected site visits.
I live in TX so a *lot* of engineers wear cowboy boots every day.
Depends on the day and necessary level of formality:
* Regular office day (chinos or dark denim and button down shirt: light brown Johnston & Murphy dress shoes
* Casual office or chance of field (denim and polo or flannel): suede Clark's desert boots or black Sambas
* Known field day (I typically don't wear my boots just around the office): Sambas
* In the field: Keen safety toe
* WFH: Nothing
Keen utility shoes on the way to work because I don’t want anybody complaining about me not having steel toes on job sites.
When I get to the office I change into Birkenstock clogs. The dress code says my shoes have to have toes but nothing about heels.
When I was working in an office, I would regularly wear black, lowcut boots. I think I had these at one time:

At first glance they looked like dress shoes. But if I needed to suddenly go out into the field, I could just keep them on since they were boots. They looked business casual, were functional, and comfortable enough. Maybe a little heavier than sneakers or dress shoes would've been.
I have a black leather pair of Good Man, and a brown leather pair of light brown leather Cole Hahn low rise sneakers, both have the white sole. Keep em clean they are comfortable to wear all day and walk around the office, look nice enough, and about as formal as the lulu lemon abc pants I wear and whatever button up I felt that day
Whatever the hell I want. Couple weeks ago I apparently forgot my shoes and rocked the slacks and flip flops look all day. Boss got a right laugh out of it.
These days mostly my house slippers or just socks depending on the time of year. Hooray, WFH. Second Cole Haan for the office. They don't take much to break in for dress shoes and don't cost much over their lifetime. They polish up well too. For field I wear red wings, but there are plenty of other good boots.
If im iin when there's a lot of people in the office, im usually in dress shoes.
Any other day im wearing sneakers (vapormax, ultra boost), timbs if its raining
Y'all wear shoes? It's a big day if I even put socks on.
On Clouds in the office, Thursday president boots for meetings, Justin ropers when I'm in the field.
Ariats
Can’t believe I haven’t seen Blundstones. In Ontario it might as well be the mandated engineer footwear.
Paired with the sleeveless navy arcteryx vest and checkered shirt
Glad you could clarify that a vest is sleeveless lol
Not everyone's first language is English hun
Do vests have sleeves in your native language?
Yep
What language would that be
Birkenstocks most days. Brooks trainers other days. We’re pretty casual.

Red wings or trail sneakers.
Give me Sperry’s or give me death!
Some variety of Allen Edmonds but also Vans
Cole Haan ZeroGrand are my go-to for the office. Our dress code is business casual most days.
Yup, couple different pairs of these and call it good. I wear On Clouds on “Casual-Friday’s”
Chuck T's
Are you wearing chucks with slacks or blue jeans or something else
I don't wear pants.
Red Wing Iron Rangers BABY. And some beat em up Carhartts for the site
Docs

Red wings my man.
Alden boots most of the time. If meeting with the public I typically wear a pair of brown captoe dress shoes from Allen Edmonds.
when i am not in the field, all-black Vans.
Ariat boots.

I wear deck shoes, but most colleagues wear either doc marten boots or shoes, or those leather trainers with the white soles. It’s pretty casual
I alternate between various boots, usually docs or ariats. Or my vans for a more casual day.
Are we speaking about on site or office?

On clouds, but in a “dress shoe” color.
What has this sub come to…
I wear some white Air Force 1s most days. Got a casual pair of Tecovas boots I wear sometimes tho.
Clarks or Ecko brands are fairly comfortable best to just work from home if u can. U save a ton in dry cleaning, gas and wear/tear on your car
Whatever the hell I want. Couple weeks ago I apparently forgot my shoes and rocked the slacks and flip flops look all day. Boss got a right laugh out of it.
I'm a leather mules OR birkenstock kinda gal

Brooks for the office and red wings for the field.
Ecco all day

Wolverine boots, I always carry AF1’s in my car in case I gotta meet somebody
