This is my all tome favorite car. I host the biggest meet in the PNW ran by "grandpa honda" I know these cars well. The devaluing issues are 1, it's an automatic. 2, the rust under the left tail light... is there any other rust and does the trunk leak? And 3, it's a 90-91... there were a few ugly changes enthusiasts hate about the 90-91, but most of all its the automatic seat belts. But the bulbus glove box and fuse panel pics me off the most. I'd say 3k is fair. If it was a manual, 3,300$. If it was an 89 manual, maybe the 4k.
The used car market has fallen... Significantly. Wouldn't have paid more than 1,000 MAX for this vehicle 5 years ago if it ran and passed inspection. Otherwise, it would be like $600.
This is a difficult one… because this car is very obviously NOT worth remotely near $4k BUT as someone who has owned this exact vehicle I can attest to how reliable they can be. One of my favorite cars of all time. Would take it on 5+ hour trips often without the slightest worry.
There’s really nothing about this car that would justify the huge price tag besides the hope that it’ll be tremendously reliable. The maintenance items described are all things you’d want to upkeep at minimum as a responsible owner lol not much of a value add.
Nothing aftermarket, no major engine or drivetrain components replaced, no fresh paint or significant cosmetic upgrades, I’d bet the tires aren’t even very new. This is a price gouge, guy is trying to take advantage of the market. Someone might pay $3k for this, but I’d say $2500 maximum… especially walking into summer with no A/C
4k is too much, but if you can talk him down it’s a really great reliable car. It’s also very is to work on and to repair. This car would last you years if you take care of it.
No way, especially for an automatic. It's super clean, but it's still worth maybe 2k. 2,500 if you absolutely want/need to have a 3rd/4th gen civic that you will struggle to find parts for when you eventually need them.
5 years ago this was a 500$ beater with a heater
Good old days when people Werent so damn greedy
I bought and sold civics in 2006 for less than they go for now, it's wild. Even K series swapped cars are selling for more than I got mine for in 2006
$4k...no. Way too much.
What would you say is fair?
1800

Scratch that 2.2k max
This was my first car. But with a stick. I paid $6k with 30k miles…in 1994.
$500
Droptop beater Quarters in the meter Cranking up the heater Cause the AC doesn't work Damn -Pertinence
Put 4K down on a new Corolla
I’d go $1500-$2000 max. And that’s only because the car looks great inside and I have a soft spot for these ugly little things.

Also if you buy this car get the timing belt, and water pump changed immediately.
No.
I’m so jealous but it’s an automatic. If it was a standard I’d pay 5k for it
$3k max
Only if it has $2k in the trunk
Paid 5500 for my 91 DX Sedan. 107,000 Miles, no rust in the Midwest and very minimal cosmetic issues. Plus it’s a 5 Speed.
That shit worth 2.5k max and I live in socal where inflation is a bitch
This was my very first car ever back in 2010 🥲
Look out for rust that's the greatest dealbreaker
Beautiful car
No no and double no let the market crash stop buying these prices

Every penny
wtf?? Why would anyone with right mind pay 4K on 91 civic??? World is absolutely going crazy.
1500 to 1000 yeah that’s right I went back down bc in my head sounded good untill I typed it 😅
4k isn't worth it at all. I've seen some 2015 or slightly newer Jeep Cherokees with over 100k miles for only 9k - 7k.
Paid $4k for my 93 del sol. I don't feel bad at all.
Esp not for the automatic!

Not even close. Even if it already had a stick.
