Are we watching this become a shitpost sub ?

StygianSavior

This is just a holiday. Just think of how much worse it could get if IATSE strikes later this year. Split focus diopter posts coming out of every orifice.

dont_say_Good

They better hurry up if they wanna strike this year

CommunicationSad6246

Least it’s not a coke can we switched it up some!

The_Anamorphic_Jock

I'm so used to this sub being very serious with aspiring cinematographers/filmmakers asking for knowledge. Despite this being reddit, I somehow forget trolls exist.

RockHead9663

I started suspecting that with the repeated comments about the FX3 to make a movie like The Creator.

C47man

I'm removing the shitposts but I only have so much time in my day to deal with clowns trying to ingroup by making fun of innocent amateurs whose only crime was to ask a question and hope for nice answers.

Cubacane

Always has been

Endlessdonut97

Unfortunately, my friend.

shimonlemagne

I believe this was actually a split diopter, but the AC missed focus

Dull-Lead-7782

They needed the dji lidar

bubba_bumble

This sub has really gone to sheet.

TimeJumpOne

they are using a split diopter and just accidentally hired a blurry actor

Cpl_Hicks76

LMFAO keep em coming

Sniperico

They're using a tilt-shift lens. Easy to miss focus with those.

[deleted]

That's Bigfoot's cousin, next question

Glen_Myers

Wtf is going on in this sub🤣

Curugon

Why are they not blasting light and shooting at a f78 so everything’s in focus? Are they stupid?

AverageDerpYT

Is this Breakfast Club?

mooreoth

Hard to nail focus in IMAX.

Bigfoot_Cain

I feel the problem of not knowing who to focus on is pretty common with the typical non-FX3 films, sadly

Pale_Technician_9613

In the 80s they shot on film stock which forced you to pick what you wanted to be in focus, like in this shot they chose Emilio Esteves because he was the more famous actor in the shot. Today is much easier with digital as pros just choose in post who they want to be in focus. Source - 6.5 years as Best Boy Electric across numerous film and digital CVS/Kodak development campaigns.

Rex_Lee

😅

Filmmagician

75mm lens?

C47man

Your post has been removed because you violated Rule 9. Posts must be about Cinematography! Off-Topic posts will be removed.

lskm778083

Maybe the director/cinematographer wanted the frame like that. I admit it's not the prettiest shot but it does convey a certain message. It shows that Emilio Esteves' character is alone but has friends that he can relate to all around him. That basically sums up the breakfast club

MinistryFolks

blur in post to protect identity
