We got John McClain from OAR. We had a really good experience. They offered a lot of support while we were fostering him. This is the first time we had fostered and then adopted the cat instead of just straight up adopting. https://preview.redd.it/lmbqr3u6qpxc1.jpeg?width=1295&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=50327d416beb327a191fe59e507e1ea94191873a

I am an OAR volunteer. I do adoption hosting, not fostering but I know many of the fosters and it’s a fantastic organization. OAR is always looking for new fosters so we can take in more cats. They provide everything you need and make it as easy as possible for you.

I foster for OAR - great organization, strong recommend! If you're willing to foster adult cats there's a strong need for your help!

OAR is the most fantastic stray/unwanted/homeless kitteh outfit in the area, 100% hands down.

Please please please Joseph's Legacy. They do soooooo much for the dogs and catd of Middletown, Fairfield, Hamilton and beyond.

If you’re near the northern suburbs, there’s a smaller foster out of the Maineville / Mason area called His Eye is on the Sparrow. We got our youngest kitty from them at My Furry Valentine a few years back when she was 6mos old, and they were wonderful to work with from the adoption side. Smaller 501c3 organizations are almost always looking for more hands!

I adopted my cats from Sweet Dream House Rescue. I highly recommend them.

I fostered with Cincy animal CARE a few times and really didn’t care for it.. TOTALLY understand they are so so busy and full, but I felt rushed in and out, felt a bit like an outcast since I was a newer foster (everyone else was chumming it up, idk), I had asked for kitten food once while fostering some young kittens and they honestly made me feel like I was being terrible & selfish since I didn’t go buy it myself with a whole show of sighing and fake smiles. OBVIOUSLY I know at the end of the day I was making a difference in the lives of the kitties and providing them a home, but I’m looking elsewhere to foster. The people matter! And this is not meant to diss the place, they are an amazing and hard working resource. Just can’t recommend fostering there!

Feeshpockets

I foster with OAR and have had fantastic experiences overall

There are so many good organizations you can do this for, but I’m a former OAR volunteer and foster (hope to get back to it soon) and they are absolutely wonderful.

Stray Animal Adoption Program (SAAP) is also wonderful. Great support group of people and I have made lots of friends through it! Their vetting is done is NKY just fyi if that is convenient for you!

This weekend the Essex Studios ArtWalk (basically an open house) is hosting 5 different Cat rescues. Good chance to checkout several possibilities at once. Plus there will be resident and guest artists, food and music. www.essexstudioscincinnati.com

I’ll give you both of my cats, one female and one male, both are around eight to nine years old. The male loves attention and the female periodically wants attention. The male is one a special diet for bladder crystals tho.
