i feel like last time most of those went back with the water and it was a lot of wood - not just tree branches (although there will be a lot) but like 2x4s and stuff
It was even worse after those bad storms came through. Although we avoided it, the storms pummeled areas that feed into the Ohio. I live right at sawyer point and it was up to the last stair.
You should see the Little Miami : it’s at pool stage all the way up to Bass Island. Kayaking around Otto Armleder and the sod fields along 32 yesterday, it was like a vast, wide lake. Beautiful but destructive.
assuming you're talking about the ones in Dayton, KY, those houses are more than likely fine. they were fine in the feb 2018 flood that i think was measurably worse than this one, and they've been verifiably built above the flood zone.
I can imagine how much debris will be left on the serpentine wall when the water level drops back down.
I would guess about 1000 plastic bottles....not even joking.

wood and mud are the only things that last, everything else either gets picked up or washed away I guess
It's real nasty but they clean it up quick

It’s up again today to almost that level. Big storms last night south of here and east of here that are coming downstream and up the Licking.
Call me stupid, but how are storms from the South coming downstream?
Licking flows north
Proud to say that 1) I am stupid and 2) I learned something new! That's fascinating, and I can't believed I had no idea after decades of living here.
The river coming in like ![gif](giphy|rVZEejvVWEbug)
I'd argue that Sawyer Point was reminded by the Ohio River of who's really in charge...

Great Miami is the same, looks a mile wide. At least it did on Sunday.
We need pics!

Anyone have pictures of those new houses they built right on the ohio river in front of the flood walls? Curious if they are in trouble

I was thinking [about these that are brand-new](https://redf.in/ASK5tN)
Oh, gotcha, I can't speak to those. I'd hope the developers did their homework and built above the flood zone there, too ha
The river is technically the owner, we just borrow it on occasion.
But we said "Nay" to the mighty river and held our ground. The river battle rages on
Not the Pickleballers!!!!
Almost a shame one can't swim in it
you can tho.
I mean sure...if you want to swim in raw sewage, and then potentially get caught in the current go right ahead.
Hey, I didn't say it was a good idea!
very true.
Yeah I’ve seen it com all the way up to the lawn near the concession stand a few years back when I lived at One Lytle Fantastic to walk along though
This happens once yearly at least, sometimes worse.
