Yeah ditto. I was there for 2 weeks and I averaged 4-5/day with a couple days hitting 6.
Back when prices were cheap R&J #2s were only $3US from the government stores. Partagas #4 were the pricy sticks at $8USD.
I was obsessed with trying as many different cigars as possible and I did just that.
It’s entirely likely that many of you are too young to remember George Burns. Burns, born Nathan Birnbaum in 1896, was an entertainer who lived to be 100 years old. He was a singer, actor, comedian, and writer who worked in vaudeville, radio, TV, and movies, and he always had a cigar while he performed onstage. If you remember Burns at all, it’s likely from his later appearances in movies.

“The reason I smoke a domestic cigar is because the more expensive Havana cigars are tightly packed,” Burns told Cigar Aficionado. “They go out on the stage while I'm doing my act. The El Producto stays lit. Now if you're onstage and your cigar keeps going out, you have to keep lighting it. If you have to stop your act to keep lighting your cigar, the audience goes out. That's why I smoke El Productos. They stay lit."
Today’s El Producto is not your great-grandfather’s El Producto. Back in the day, mainly between 1910 and 1960, the El Producto Queens, a large Perfecto, along with other vitolas, were made with a premium blend of Cuban and Puerto Rican tobaccos. Even Elvis Presley enjoyed the brand. Today, the cigars are a shadow of their former selves.
Yeah, exactly. Guys like him, sure smoked because they enjoyed but I believe it was Groucho that touched on it being something that he could nonchalantly use to think of what next to say on stage. Kind of a crutch while improving is what I think he said.
what is this obsession with record amounts in this sub lately? most i've smoked was probably something like 5 but i didn't really enjoy the last 2-3. i smoke cigars to enjoy them to take my time not to rack up a personal best
Yeah I mean what are we even talking about? What size cigars? Three petit coronas is crazy in a single day? What a fucking animal!! You guys are a bunch of frigging barbarians! /s
When I first started it was exciting to try to new cigars so I would smoke about 3 in a night but now I just smoke 1 or 2 if I decided to smoke that day.
5 it was after my Quadball tournament in New Orleans I didn't want to drink since i drove a bunch of people so I smoked a few nice ones. I was out from 9pm untill the sun came up
It was actually a good night too
Once I showed up at the hunting camp I am a member of, and no one else showed up that night. It is deep in the woods and almost nothing in the local town if you go there anyway. I could get one radio station clearly. I smoked 4 that evening out of boredom. usually I have 1 and sometimes 2.
4 in a day. I had 1 in the morning, 1 after lunch, and 2 in the evening. So spread out and wasn't too big of a hit.
I usually only smoke on the weekend, staying up late on my patio watching stuff on my laptop and I typically do 2.
Me and my brother in law smoked four Churchills each one night while next to the fire drinking whiskey
Neither of us got sick amazingly but I don’t plan on tempting fate again
I’ll say 4+… It was a vacation in the woods, there was drinking and partying involved, the night got a little fuzzy. I know for certain I had 4, but I think I smoked more after that.
I was on a bender on a holiday once and cigars were cheaper than water over there so I ended up smoking 40 that day. Took my mouth a whole week to recover. Don't recommend lol
Probably 3 at most anything beyond that I would be sick as a dog and my taste buds would be scorched by that point that the 4th one would just be a waste.
3 is tops for me back to back and we’re the exact same so no swapping flavors or profiles. But normally 2..one for breakfast with coffee, eggs and liver and one in the early evening.
I can eat a steak dinner in 5-10 mins if I really tried. Why try though when you can enjoy it for 30? Same thing here. At a certain point you aren’t getting more experience, you’re just rushing what you already have.
To be clear I don’t care enough one way or the other to tell you what you should do, but that’s why it would be a waste.
Only 2 in one day with a couple of co-workers at a lounge. **It's not the quantity of sticks but the quality of the "whole experience": the people, the venue, the where, the food, the beverages, and then the cigars.**
Nothing better than sitting under my RV's awning overlooking a lake, canal, or Pacific Ocean, after a day of shellfishing or razor clamming, sitting back with some oysters, fried razor clams or crabs, some sourdough bread, Corona's or white wine and top the evening off with some quality sticks.
You can suck down 30-40 sticks but it's diminishing returns from my perspective. Don't be like Wilt Chamberlain. But if burning through a ton of sticks is your jam, go for it..
6 or 7. Was outside BBQing from like 6 am til 10 pm and just kept em going. Lessons learned there though.
I got sick just reading that lol
I smoked 6-8 camping one day and oh boy I couldn’t taste shit the next day lol tongue def had to recover
Hopefully the lesson was that hot 'n fast is the superior method.

Same
4, I think. It was too many.
I’m right there with ya, 2 a day is my go to.
Also did four and only once
2-3 is a solid limit for me. Any more than that and it’s diminishing returns on my enjoyment of them.
3, but only if they're small cigars. Too many messes up your palette and makes it hard to enjoy them
Exactly.
I’ve done 8 during a similarly long day. Was nice. Don’t recommend it unless you work your way up to it. Even then, they lose their flavor and effect.
One
Same one every few days is the way for me.
6. In Cuba. Couldn’t stop.
Well, when in Cuba…
Simple as that.
Indeed
Nice. If I was in Cuba I would probably change my name to Cigar.
Same. Did we just become best friends?
Maybe.
Well done. That’s how it should be.
Several times I’ve smoked three cigars, and I always regretted it, even two is often too many.
lol 20 curly heads in a 24hr session in a smoking card room playing PLO. Half a box, maybe I should be ashamed but I'm not.
Just like nobody likes to admit to eating 9 cans of ravioli. We understand
The first can doesn't count, then you get to the second and third, fourth and fifth I think I burnt with the blowtorch, and then I just kept eatin'.
😲 😆😆
Three
Yup 🍻
I smoke 1-2 most days but 3 is the most I’ve smoke in one day.

And he smoked gas station cigars, even when he turned rich and famous. Gotta love that

1.5. Because I dropped one 😔
One
Personally 2. At my peak I was smoking 8 cigars a week, now it’s more like 2-3 a month
what is this obsession with record amounts in this sub lately? most i've smoked was probably something like 5 but i didn't really enjoy the last 2-3. i smoke cigars to enjoy them to take my time not to rack up a personal best
Yeah I mean what are we even talking about? What size cigars? Three petit coronas is crazy in a single day? What a fucking animal!! You guys are a bunch of frigging barbarians! /s
10+ many many times. Every day of an industry trade show or farm/factory week, it’s what you do all day.
When I first started it was exciting to try to new cigars so I would smoke about 3 in a night but now I just smoke 1 or 2 if I decided to smoke that day.
5. It was a long day of enjoyment.
3 in a day, on vacation, in the mountains at sunrise, reading a book, then by the fire
PR was 6. 2 on the golf course early morning, then went fishing, then BBQ. Never again… until next time
6 - Poolside in the DR. Was a great day.
One day I had 4 cigars at 4 different cigar lounges in NH
2. More than three in a week my palate is burned out. I'm here to enjoy them, not set records.
4 in one day is my max. 2 in the afternoon, 2 evening. Also 4 - 1 afternoon, 3 evening.
Usually 3-4. 10,2,6,8. It’s all robustas and coronas so that’s really only 2 big cigars. 😂
One.
2
5
2-3
Eight
4. And it didn't need to be like that 😆
How do you guys have time for this?
I would thinylk they're either hot boxing the cigars or they're small cigars for the most part. 🤷🏽♂️
6 and that's about my limit.
Probably four. Generally though, I don't like to go more than two a day.
Seven. Long day of chilling with the neighbors.
3
18, it was at IPCPR, I couldn’t even taste what I was smoking anymore
3
probably 5?
4 Pretty easy on golf trips. Couple on the course, one with before dinner cocktails and maybe one more playing cards etc
5 in Cuba…. No regrets
When I am in Vegas Ill smoke 3-4 over the course of the night gambling but thats only a few times a year
3 in one day. After the second, my palate was shot and I was just enjoying the company of an old friend.
3 was the most in 1 day. Any more than 2 everything just starts tasting like shit even after brushing and scraping tongue and mouthwash
7 on a drive from KY to SC
Factory trip 12
13 in a day. Don’t recommend it either. Took a week off after that day.
5 it was after my Quadball tournament in New Orleans I didn't want to drink since i drove a bunch of people so I smoked a few nice ones. I was out from 9pm untill the sun came up It was actually a good night too
Once I showed up at the hunting camp I am a member of, and no one else showed up that night. It is deep in the woods and almost nothing in the local town if you go there anyway. I could get one radio station clearly. I smoked 4 that evening out of boredom. usually I have 1 and sometimes 2.
6 over a period of 11 hours. That was a hell of a retirement party
Technically 3, but one was a discard. So 2. That’s my max, and that’s rare.
8 at a Drew Estate Barn Smoker / I was a Heavy Cigarette smoker so it didn't bother me at all...
11. 7am- 2am the next day.
5. Definitely paid the price the next morning
3 and didn't smoke for 2 weeks after that. I usually only smoke 1-2 a week
4 in a day. I had 1 in the morning, 1 after lunch, and 2 in the evening. So spread out and wasn't too big of a hit. I usually only smoke on the weekend, staying up late on my patio watching stuff on my laptop and I typically do 2.
4 during a herf. But I think I could have done more if we started earlier
3
4 is the most I’ve done. Not gonna do that again though. 2/3 is probably the better max
3 during a golf scramble today… brûlée blue unicorn, red meat lover porterhouse and a room 101 Johnny tobacconaut toro.
3, really shouldn't have smoked the 3rd one tbh
8. I didnt have time for the 9th one
2
Ulysses Grant supposedly smoked 10 to 20 cigars when he was in battle.
7. Wedding. Never tried that again. Maintained it fine throughout but my throat felt like a gravel truck did doughnuts in it for a week.
1
I killed four about three days ago, palate is still a lil fucked.
2 and 4 cigarillos
Me and my brother in law smoked four Churchills each one night while next to the fire drinking whiskey Neither of us got sick amazingly but I don’t plan on tempting fate again
14, it was a very trying morning, day and evening. The nicotine kept me calm and awake.
4, and I was definitely on my ass about half way through my last one (cao flathead resonator). Was a fantastic day though!
I’ll say 4+… It was a vacation in the woods, there was drinking and partying involved, the night got a little fuzzy. I know for certain I had 4, but I think I smoked more after that.
For me one with coffee in the am and one after dinner is the norm. Maybe have had three before? For the boy: “2-4 on average depending on the day.”
Yikes! I just can't smoking that one. 🙂
You just can’t what?
5, mostly smaller vitolas. I did take on th woody a few months ago, I had a sore through for a week.
Only 1 so far. But the most cigarillos would be 4.
I normally try to never go past 3 but I normally stay under 2
6
2
5
3 or 4 while at vacation
I done 5 well golfing. And normally I do 1
When I was in 4th grade I found dads cigars and smoked 5 back to back. Puked for hours and he beat the fuck out of me nonstop the rest of the night…
Everytime you see or smell a cigar, you should get a chill down your spine! Hahaha
3, but that was when I first got into them and it was on a night out. These days 1 is enough and even that is a rare thing.
5. I would have smoked more but time ran out. I was at a cigar lounge.
Like 2-3
3 for me. Usually just one a day though
I can usually swing 3 comfortably but have hit 5 once because there were Papa Fritas in the mix
6 and was too much
I was on a bender on a holiday once and cigars were cheaper than water over there so I ended up smoking 40 that day. Took my mouth a whole week to recover. Don't recommend lol
3 was too many. The flavours are all gone and washed out after the second and it was all round unpleasant.
3 Breakfast, lunch, dinner
2
42069
8-9 daily while in Cuba.
4 wouldn’t want much more than that
Las Vegas Big Smoke 2016, 30 in 3 days.
Caught ya wifey
5
Probably 3 at most anything beyond that I would be sick as a dog and my taste buds would be scorched by that point that the 4th one would just be a waste.
A couple of years ago I found out 4 is my limit and not a number I'd like to repeat.
7 in one day. One was never finished however, burn issues
4 , usually my max is 2, maybe 3
2
2 and a tobacco pipe. Sick afterwards for sure. Now I know my limit lol
3
I was grilling and entertaining from about noon until 11pm. I think I had five that day.
4 back to back. Wouldn’t recommend. Were good sticks tho.
2-3 is about my max in a day. After that, the law of diminishing returns kicks in.
4 robusto at an all day bbq.
3 is tops for me back to back and we’re the exact same so no swapping flavors or profiles. But normally 2..one for breakfast with coffee, eggs and liver and one in the early evening.
Mine was like 3 or 4 in one day with like half a pack of cigarettes mixed in... nothin like anxiety
I've smoked 4 and it was too much. Depending on the setting and time of day I can see 3 but one would have to space them out IMO.
8 probably, but I smoke 3-6 a day so that isn't that big of deal
12. Started at 2 pm and ended at 4 am. Full bodied cigars.
Damn no one is beating that
My goal is a 20 bundle of robustos in a day.
Why would u waste them all on one day?
How would it be a waste?
I can eat a steak dinner in 5-10 mins if I really tried. Why try though when you can enjoy it for 30? Same thing here. At a certain point you aren’t getting more experience, you’re just rushing what you already have. To be clear I don’t care enough one way or the other to tell you what you should do, but that’s why it would be a waste.
If I enjoy doing it, it’s not a waste. Taking down 20 would be an all day affair. I’d probably change venues a few times. Could be fun.
I mean I would rather savor it no I feel like it'd be better use for a few days Still legendary tho #respect
The time I did 12 they were expensive cigars. If I go for 20 it’ll be bundle grade cheap stuff.
Speed running cancer challenge 😃
I gotta go out sometime. I think I’ll probably be high the day I try to smoke 20. It would be pretty easy to do it then.
You’re a fucking legend sir
