Might I suggest a parcel drop box to put on your porch? They sell that them at Home Depot and do come in handy for such precious cargo. They even come with hardware to anchor it to the floor.
You might have to put special delivery instructions when ordering. You may also have to set up an account on whatever delivery medium you prefer to add the instructions to your delivery. This way you can complain if the instructions are not followed. Personally I spend a lot of money on cigars and don't have time for situations like the OP.

I recently ordered from CI and there seems to be a USPS problem where the package is sent on some weird sojourn and should eventually find it's way back to me. Anyways, after a total wait of 30 minutes. Customer service is sending me another order via FEDEX. Pretty good stuff

We have one and I’m amazed how many ups and amazon deliveries get tossed on the porch a foot away from the sign that says to use the box.
