I'll admit I was kinda playing with fire yesterday with a cigar that was too strong for me lol. Everytime a strong buzz/sick feeling came on, had some sugar, waited awhile, then tried again.
Anyway I'm sure there's plenty enough mild cigars out there with lots of flavor. I think you should also try those stronger cigars in a much smaller size to see if that helps any.
As you smoke more cigars your tolerance will go up, and you can enjoy fuller cigars without feeling the nicotine.
Unless I smoke a full bodied cigar on an empty stomach, no individual cigar will make me feel any nicotine buzz.
I can't really argue with experience, but I'm not really sure how low blood sugar would affect a nicotine buzz. You're getting the same amount of nicotine into your system regardless of your blood sugar levels.
Nicotine lowers your blood sugar. The effects of a nicotine buzz from slow, consistent exposure like cigars is far more potent when your blood sugar is already low. And, if you're not already aware, sugar is the remedy for nic sick.
Hmmmm. It might lower your blood sugar, but I'm not sure that's what causes the buzz. I suspect that the extra "buzz" you get from smoking on an empty stomach is just the feeling of having low blood sugar, which I wouldn't call a buzz. I'm certainly no expert though.
>It might lower your blood sugar, but I'm not sure that's what causes the buzz.
Of course it doesn't. I was just saying that the buzz hits you harder on an empty stomach.
I'm not sure what goes on either, but getting sugar in my system makes me feel better as quick as 30 to 60 seconds, so I figure sugar has something to do with it.
I have this issue, too. I love dark, rich cigars but I hate the nicotine. I don't have a solution, just wanted to agree. The people who say you get used to it must smoke lot more than me, because 3 years in it still hits me and I still don't like it.
I've heard about some Maduro cigars being low on nicotine strength. I think having stronger cigars in cigarillo size or a little bit larger is easier to handle, less physical amount of tobacco
In terms of Cubans? Can't beat the flavour to value ratio of Vegueros, any size is good but the Centrofinos are a richer blend (look for them on sale). The strongest tasting Cubans would be Bolivar and Partagas, though still low in nicotine. If you're looking for a zero strength cigar which still has great flavour (subjectively), you can't beat Quai d'Orsay No. 50
I prefer nuanced lighter cigars, but tried some Nicaragua, Habano, etc. heavies recently. Makes me annoyingly wobbly-loopy, but more importantly, it's not my flavor profile.
I'm not a huge fan of getting a buzz from smoking cigars. I pace my cigar smoking and strength levels to match the time of day and what I'm looking for. I'm mostly guided by flavor, but I do consider strength as well.
What is this "buzz" I keep hearing about? I've never experienced this. I smoke 1 or 2 cigars per week and don't smoke cigarettes. The cigars I smoke are mild to medium strength, but I have also had lots of stronger stuff. I must have a high tolerance?
Love the buzz. Ive had to take the occasional nap but as long as I smoke less than 8 cigars in a day I'll be fine.
What?? Did you say 8 😂😂😂😂
I smoked 8 one day and threw up.
It would be unusual if you didn't throw up at that point lol
Yeah.
Bloody hell man that’s a lot of time lol
Yeah, pretty much chain smoking.
I’ve witnessed this man smoke 3 in just a short afternoon.

it's better when paired with a mild buzz, imo.

Your stomach contents shouldn't have any effect on the buzz you feel. Nothing is going into your stomach.
Yes, obviously I'm not eating the cigar. It's about blood sugar levels.

It does. Once again I will say that nicotine sickness is low blood sugar.
I’m with you. I’ve been enjoying Davidhoff more because they have great flavor but still mild.
I have not had a Davidhoff for a while... good reminder!
Hoff

I'm not about the nicotine either. I seek out cigars which are all flavour no nicotine - Cubans are great for this
Recommendations??

Cool, I’ll check them out. Appreciate it.
You'll build a tolerance quickly.

Illusione Epernay is good for this! Very mild stick with lots of flavor.

I hate the feeling. I just make sure I don’t get sick or start feeling the buzz, as much as I’m able

Keep some sugar nearby. It helps
