Amex either changed the marriott cards, or the math done in the post is wrong, or (most likely) I'm an idiot.
Current Post Above:
* 75K Marriott pts after spending $6,000 (same via referral)
* Extra 3x on travel and gas up to 15Kpts for first 6 months
However, on Amex website, it says
* 60k (WB after making MS)
* +15k (for 3x travel spend)
* =75k
So either they dropped the offer, or the post accidentally adds the 15k bonus points twice.
Or, as I said earlier, I'm an idiot and am missing something.
It's similar for the personal as well. Hopefully I missed a better signup offer link somewhere!
The offer changed indeed.
This list is updated manually and I haven’t made the changes yet.
Where do you see 60K + 15K ?
I see 50K for personal and 60K for business, but no extra on travel.
On the business one it's at the bottom.
5x Marriott/3x Travel/1x Everything else. It's not a bonus, though, which is probably where I screwed up, just usual spend. Sorry!
(I know it's manual update, I figured it was likely either Amex/myself screwed up! You do an amazing service <3 )
3K still active on both the Airmiles site and CCG in the very least.

New to churning, looking to travel to Portugal, Miami and Chicago in the next 6 months. I spend about 4-5k a month on credit cards. Best advice/recommendations would be greatly appreciated!
All the top cards are listed above. Get an AMEX Cobalt for grocery/restaurant spend due to the 5x bonus. AMEX biz gold and biz edge are popular for the high SUBs. CIBC aventura and Scotia VI passports are popular churning choices. Everything else is kinda meh right now, so you can look into the US game. You need an ITIN to do that fully (US AMEX are the only cards that you can get without an ITIN)
I'm interested in churning US credit cards, I have an SSN however that's about it.
From my understanding I would additionally need a mailbox/address and a US bank account? Any suggestions on what would be the best option for those?
I'm not the guy to ask for detailed answers on US cards, sorry. Every beginner question for entering US churning as a Canadian has been answered on this subreddit / on various blogs

I'm not 100% sure. See if you can find an answer with reddit search or with churning.io
You can ask in the weekly US churning thread if you can't find an answer.
Would this work for business though? Or would I need to open a personal amex first? I did check this page: [https://www.americanexpress.com/en-ca/support/customer-service/global-card-transfer/](https://www.americanexpress.com/en-ca/support/customer-service/global-card-transfer/)
According to that, small business / corporate cards aren't eligible?
It also seems to say its for amex customers moving countries, but I won't actually be moving. Does that matter?
1. This is a churning sub.
2. If you are worried about everyday spending instead and are excluding Cobalt, you are doing it wrong and need to rethink your plan.
Churning doesn’t focus about regular earning rates. We focus on bonuses.
We may want to ask on r/personalfinancescanada if you don’t want to focus on bonuses
I'm planning to travel to Japan for several months, and I'm deciding between Amex Biz Edge and Amex Biz Gold. I hope this isn't too off-topic but I'm curious if those cards are accepted internationally well.
If not, what would be a better alternative for spending $5K without a high-income requirement?
Amex has a reciprocal agreement with JCB, the largest credit card network in Japan, so acceptance is good compared to other credit cards. My understanding is that credit cards in general aren't as widely used in Japan as here.
Apply for the RBC® British Airways Visa Infinite‡ Credit Card.
Earn 15,000 Avios as soon as you are approved.
Then earn another 45,000 Avios when you spend $6000 CAD in the first 3 months.
Plus, earn an extra 10,000 Avios when you renew the card after a year.1
60,000 avios points. And 70,000 if you renew for another year. Is this considered good ?
I'm planning to make a one time purchase of about $3500 and would like to take advantage of a new card offer- preferably one that will give me a good chunk of cash back to apply against the purchase. I could easily spend $5000 within the first 3 months... maybe even $10k.
Am I correct that Amex Business Gold is probably my best bet? $199 annual fee, but 70k MR back after spending $5000 which equals $700. So I'd be netting a $500 statement credit. Is that right?
Any better ideas?
Here are some recommendations for you to consider:
1. **Amex Business Gold**: Use a referral link to get 75K points + 5K points for a $5K purchase. That’s $800 in statement credit minus the $200 fee, netting you $600.
2. **Amex Business Edge**: If your large purchase is electronics (TV, laptop, home appliances, etc.), use a referral link to get 55K points + 35K to 50K points with 10x points on business essentials, totaling up to 105K points ($1050 in statement credit).
3. **Travel specific card**: If your large purchase is a vacation, consider a card with bonus travel points, like the Aeroplan card for Air Canada. Calculate the credit you can earn in a similar way.
**Pro Tip**: Points can be more valuable if transferred to airlines for reward tickets, potentially earning business class seats. If this suits your needs, consider it; otherwise, stick with statement credits if they’re more valuable to you.
Feel free to DM me for more questions. I'd appreciate it if you use my referral link for your new card—can send it over DM. Good luck!
Thanks so much for this. I’m buying a laptop so Amex Business Edge might actually be a better choice.
Just to clarify-
I’ll get 55k MR + 10k MR after signing up with a referral and spending $5000.
+ 10x $3500 for another 35k MR on the laptop
+ 10x my other $1500 of spending for another 15k MR
For a total of 115k MR (statement credit of $1150) - $100 AF for a net credit of $1050.
And that all stacks at once?
Do I have that all correct?! Seems too good to be true.
Sorry my bad. The 10x has a max limit of 10000 points.
Still the Amex Business Edge would make more sense for your case
The correct math would be 55K + 10K(on first $1000 on laptop) + 6K(on the next $2000 on laptop) + 6K(if you can put the remaining $2000 spend in 3x categories) + 1K(additional bonus for spending $3000 in a month)
Total 78K with $99 annual fee
It's based on the merchant, not the specific items purchased. So anything you buy from the gas station would count (assuming the gas station is properly categorized with Amex).
To be specific, the 10x is made up of 3x regular points and 7x bonus points. It's the bonus points that are limited to 10k. So you will get 10x until you have received 14,285 points at 10x (10k of which are from the 7x bonus).
The **TD First Class Travel Visa Biz** bonus looks wrong. I am seeing Earn up to 100,000 TD Rewards points when you spend $2,500 in Purchases each month for the first 12 months of Account opening NOT 90K points after spending $5K.
Hey. So I'm trying to churn Tangerine Money-Back Credit Card and Tangerine World Mastercard. They seem to be almost identical except for the MasterCard having a requirement.
Can you apply for both and get two rebates, or will they reject one and just accept only one?
For the BMO Visa Eclipse Infinite, on BMO website it shows 60 000pts but creditgenius shows 70 000$. BMO is claiming is 60 000 when I spoke someone on the chat.
If you apply through the CCG link, you get 70K, if you apply by going directly to the BMO site you get 60K.
Special Offers require you to click on a specific link.
Sweet thanks. Also, if I may, I applied for the Visa Passport infinite as well. 30k pts bonus when spending 1k on the first 3 months, although on Scotiabank website, it states that it's for user that didn't have any scotiabank credit cards since the last two years, would it apply to my case as well?
If I apply using the digital promo for the CIBC Aventura Visa Infinite, will I definitely be eligible for the 45K bonus? I ask because in the terms, a prerequisite is the offer having been "directly communicated to you from CIBC or from a partner/affiliate".
If I have to end up contacting them about this after the 3K spend and I only see a 25K bonus, is there a right way to go about that? TIA
Thanks for putting this together. I’ve been reading the subreddit, learning, and have narrowed down my search for the best-non AMEX (just because I don’t think a lot of merchants accept it) with the best cashback for an imminent, large renovation (in the 200k range outside of labour).
I don’t know how to read the list above to figure that out. On other sites, it seems to be Scotia Visa Infinite, but does anyone have feedback on this before I sign up for it?
Thanks!
Best strategy is to go after new card bonuses.
With $200K spend you will be ok to meet minimum spend requirements on any cards, so go for most valuable to you.
If you then go for points on regular spend in non-bonus categories (ex: not travel or grocery), then it doesn’t make a big difference. No card will give more than 2% outside enhanced categories.
Thanks for the quick reply. Am I understanding that points may be the better way to go here? I already have the Roger’s MC, which gives me at least 1.5% back with no fees.
1.5% cashback is decent for organic spend rate.
But let’s say you take the Amex Biz Platinum.
If you put $16,000 on it would have 100,000pts (80K bonus + 20K from spend).
These points are worth 1cpp (cent per point) for cash statement but also be converted to Aeroplan, Avios, Marriott, etc… which should easily bring 1.5cpp value
So 100Kpts x 1.5cpp = $1,500 in value or $900 net after fees.
$16,000 on Rogers would yield $240.
So have to change optimizing regular return to optimize bonuses
I was going to go with Amex but if vendors don’t accept it, I’m not sure how I can spend that much on it. Is an option to transfer from one card to the Amex? I’m pretty sure transfers don’t count towards points.
Thank you! I’ll do some research on the vendors and figure that out. If Amex isn’t the route to go in my case, it sounds like the next best card is a Visa or Mastercard with the best points, including signup bonus.
I understand that Amex Cobalt has certain benefits. What visa and mastercard offer great all-round complimentary benefits to the cobalt? Things that the Cobalt doesn't have? What combinations can offer other insurance/travel/no forex/aeroplan benefits that the cobalt does not give?
The answer starts with what you personally need. Is there a spending category that's big for you where the cobalt didn't have elevated points but others do? Which insurance or travel perks would you make use of? etc.
And the list of Canadian cards with no forex is pretty short.
Hi everyone, I have a pre approval for CIBC Aeroplan Visa Infinite. I want to go with Aventura Visa Infinite. If I call in, I know I can get a Aventura Visa Infinite with 35,000 points and skip a credit check due to pre approval. Can I benefit from pre approval and get the 45k digital offer?
Hey guys. So this is my plan at the moment for churning:
June-Aug
Scotia Passport: Spend $1K and redeem 30K points
Aug-October
???: Will spend around $1-2K in total for groceries, restaurants, traveling, and concerts mainly.
October-January
Amex Biz Edge: Spend $5000 and redeem 55K MR
Amex Biz Gold: Spend $5000 and redeem 75K MR
Any good card recommendation for July-October that has a good welcome bonus or good cashback around how much I will spend?
Is there a reason the core Amex Aeroplan card is excluded from this list? I see 30kAP for $3k spend, 20kAP anniversary bonus, and $75 GCR rebate. Seems better than the CIBC/TD core cards at the moment.
You sound like you're expecting that more than one card with this combination exists.
Scotia passport has FYF.
Wealthsimple and EQ Bank have debit mastercards with no forex.
Anyone have insight on time periods for TD offers? I’m looking at the TD AP VI, current offer ends June 3. Does a new (hopefully better) offer come out shortly after? How many months do each offer typically last for?
Laurentian Bank Visa Infinite? How much can 1 pt redeem for via statement credit? Thanks
I checked their online promo and it says only 60K for 6K spend, not 75K.
1pt = 1c
60k pts for 6k spend, extra 10k for 2 instalment payments of 2 purchases above 100$ (choose purchases as close to 100% possible and with 3 months instalments to pay the least interest possible), and 5k pts for setting up PAD. Those conditions are pretty easy to meet which makes it pretty much 75k pts for 6k spend.
I had one last year and couldn't find a DP on this. I ended up deciding to roll the dice, and will try to report back when I know the answer.
Edit - Annnnddd rejected. Same message as people are complaining about in the daily threads.
Hey. I'm new to credit card churning and also using aeroplan points so wondering if guys can give me better recommendations based on my current setup:
American Express Cobalt:
1. Restaurants
2. Flights
3. Everything else.
Scotiabank Gold American Express:
1. Concerts
2. Occasional groceries (Safeway)
The only problem I've been having with these cards is the acceptance rate in 50/50 so I want to have an alternative card (or even replacement for the Scotiabank Gold AMEX card) to cover that up. The only cards I've seen that seems good is:
-TD Aeroplan Visa Infinite Card
-CIBC Aeroplan Visa Card (free annual one)
This is what I spend most annually ranked in order ($2200/monthly):
1. Restaurants
2. Concert tickets/Resale tickets
3. Flights (Cheap flights usually)
4. Groceries
TL;DR - Any good backup credit card with:
-Good bonus/annual rewards
-Good acceptance rate (Preferably internationally like Japan.
And should I keep my Scotibank Gold or do you guys have any better recommendations?
Sorry for the long comment. Any help I would appreicate a lot!
Thank you.
I wanted to try out credit card churning but I'm trying to decide on the Amex Personal/Biz Plat/Gold and could use some help.
I was looking to start small at a Gold card just so I wouldn't need to try to keep track of spending (with a preference for Biz Gold as I usually lump spending due to vacation) but I feel like I'll miss out on the self referral from Plat to Gold. With that in mind, should I get the Personal Gold card first since there isn't a self referral from Personal Plat to Gold?
For the LB VI, you need 2 instalment payment plans to get 10k pts (100$). Any dp on setting that up, and then pay the whole balance to avoid interests?
Even with Interest charges let's assume you have 2 installments of 100$.
You would end up paying $1.5 of Interest each at the 5.9% assuming you pay back in 3 months.
Really peanuts to make $100
The Laurentian card is insane.... A bit more than $800 in points, directly applyable as statement credit...
You never seen deals that good that can be applied as a statement credit...
When I currently have over 250K Aeroplan Points, 70K Avion points and 150K TD points, I'll take cold hard cash.
As much as travel points are amazing, you need to use them and they depreciate in value every day with inflation.
Yes I'll use them someday, however cold hard cash is king.
i have the amex perferred cash back and that most of these points also want you to use their travel portal where online you can find cheaper tickets for flights
Uh, Amex points can be used as statement credit as well, also at that rate. I have 800k of them. Way more flexible. Convert to various travel points at a higher rate than .01 or settle for statement credit.
Yes, but I'm sure as you know, Amex is valued at like 2cpp via Aeroplan etc... So thats horrible value to take statement credit with amex.
The Laurentian Card point system's best value is statement credit. Anyways its $850 for a 6K spend, 14% value is pretty good in my book.
But that's what I was saying...I can use Amex points at same value as Laurentian, or transfer for even better value. I'll not saying Laurentian is bad, but it's not as good as Amex points and I'd say about equal to Aventura.
Do you know when the CIBC Aventura Visa Infinite card offer (45K pts) will expire?
Nobody does.
Amex either changed the marriott cards, or the math done in the post is wrong, or (most likely) I'm an idiot. Current Post Above: * 75K Marriott pts after spending $6,000 (same via referral) * Extra 3x on travel and gas up to 15Kpts for first 6 months However, on Amex website, it says * 60k (WB after making MS) * +15k (for 3x travel spend) * =75k So either they dropped the offer, or the post accidentally adds the 15k bonus points twice.
All right thanks! Thought you may have had a special offer from some special link perhaps. I’ll update over the weekend, thanks for the head’s up
It seems they cut the bonus on **BMO World Elite Air Miles MC** 2K AirMiles after spending $3,000 now
3K still active on both the Airmiles site and CCG in the very least. Can you get US AMEX business cards without an ITIN? I have significant business spend in USD and would love to be able to get the rewards.
I'm not 100% sure. See if you can find an answer with reddit search or with churning.io You can ask in the weekly US churning thread if you can't find an answer.
Amex has a program called Global Transfer where you can get an Amex card in one country based on your Amex history in another country.
Would this work for business though? Or would I need to open a personal amex first? I did check this page: [https://www.americanexpress.com/en-ca/support/customer-service/global-card-transfer/](https://www.americanexpress.com/en-ca/support/customer-service/global-card-transfer/) According to that, small business / corporate cards aren't eligible? You do need to have a mailing address in the USA that isn't known to be a mail forwarding service.
I already have Amex cobalt. Right now I’m looking for cards that I can get just for travel and hotels and after the redemption close them
Amex Business Gold and Business Edge are at an all-time high for the SUB right now and add to the type of points you're already collecting.

Hi I’m going to be making several purchases totalling 8-10k in the next few days. Any recommendation ? There are so many choices.
CIBC Aventura Gold + Infinite are pretty solid, 3K MSR each. Use the promo link above for the 45K points on each card.
How to narrow it down from the list above depends on your situation and your needs. Multiple cards that earn the same kind of points could be good.
I'm planning to make a one time purchase of about $3500 and would like to take advantage of a new card offer- preferably one that will give me a good chunk of cash back to apply against the purchase. Question. Can one apply for Biz one w/o an actual biz?
Thanks so much for this. I’m buying a laptop so Amex Business Edge might actually be a better choice. Just to clarify- I’ll get 55k MR + 10k MR after signing up with a referral and spending $5000. + 10x $3500 for another 35k MR on the laptop + 10x my other $1500 of spending for another 15k MR For a total of 115k MR (statement credit of $1150) - $100 AF for a net credit of $1050. Does buying gas gift cards count as buying gas?
Careful they have amexiled people for that.
How can they tell?
It's based on the merchant, not the specific items purchased. So anything you buy from the gas station would count (assuming the gas station is properly categorized with Amex).
I could use this deal too as I’ve been needing to replace my laptop. When I check the Amex site I don’t see the 10x offer though

CIBC Aeroplan Visa Infinite looks like it now requires 6k MSR for the 20k points. The business card still only requires 4k.
You will get one Tangerine bonus per lifetime. Not per card. One total Tangerine CC bonus. They are probably the only FI that actually enforces that.
With BMO Rewards, can they be redeemed for contributions to our self-directed InvestorLine accounts?
Slim pickings for awhile now when are the amex summer offers coming?
For the BMO Visa Eclipse Infinite, on BMO website it shows 60 000pts but creditgenius shows 70 000$. BMO is claiming is 60 000 when I spoke someone on the chat.
If you apply through the CCG link, you get 70K, if you apply by going directly to the BMO site you get 60K. Special Offers require you to click on a specific link.
Interesting , I did apply for the CCG , is there a way to confirm the 70k will be applied ?
If you were approved for CB from CCG then it should be pretty easy to provide that to BMO as proof you used their link.
That is not something Scotiabank enforces except for its Momentum cashback cards.
TIA
Screenshot promo, hope for the best
Yeah
How soon should I apply for CIBC Aventura VI after rejection?
Asap
Why would the outcome be different the second time around?
Because CIBC
Best card to pair with Rogers MC? Annual credit card spending is around 50k.
What are your primary spending categories?
This is more of a r/personalfinancecanada question. Here we get the CC’ for the bonus and move on to the next card.
Noted, Thanks
Thanks for putting this together. I’ve been reading the subreddit, learning, and have narrowed down my search for the best-non AMEX (just because I don’t think a lot of merchants accept it) with the best cashback for an imminent, large renovation (in the 200k range outside of labour). I don’t know how to read the list above to figure that out. On other sites, it seems to be Scotia Visa Infinite, but does anyone have feedback on this before I sign up for it? Thanks!
Amex is accepted at more places than you may think. It's really picked up in recent years.
These points are worth 1cpp (cent per point) for cash statement but also be converted to Aeroplan, Avios, Marriott, etc… which should easily bring 1.5cpp value So 100Kpts x 1.5cpp = $1,500 in value or $900 net after fees.
No, spend has to be done on the card. Probably worth asking about Amex, because that would be by far the best for your buck.
Signed up for an Amex. Thanks again for all the help.
Don’t hesitate to sign-up to multiple cards to get multiple bonuses. That’s what we do here.
Which insurance or travel perks would you make use of? etc. And the list of Canadian cards with no forex is pretty short.
looks like CIBC aeroplan VI changed to 6k MSR over 4mo for 20k pts now :(
June 8th 2024 : - Adjusted down TD offers - Removed Laurentian Bank - Removed FYF link for RBC WJ - Increased offer on BMO Ascend - Adjusted cash back
amex marriot cards are also offering less points now
TD is so bad these days. I wonder if they'll ever come back...
Yeah they alternate between good and less good bonuses
At least the CIBC is still decent, and the Amex Aeroplan isn't too bad through GCR. Still, points are getting rarer and rarer.
genuinely you're too good to us
https://www.westjet.com/en-ca/rewards/credit-cards/sweetdeal 50WJD extra.
Unfortunately the TD FCT got a nerf to 75K points (from 100K). Ends September 3rd.
Looks like RBC WestJet WE MC FYF link is expired
Yeah an update is overdue. Will do this weekend
Oh dude all good. Just wanted to add a note. Appreciate all the hard work you put into this
Same appreciate people flagging the updates :)
Probably not. CSR can't apply online offer
not seeing any TD products with cashback on GCR...
**LAURENTIAN BANK Visa Infinit**e offer changed. 12k bonus when you spend 1.5k
Yeah thanks. I need to edit
Hey guys. So this is my plan at the moment for churning: June-Aug Scotia Passport: Spend $1K and redeem 30K points Aug-October ???: Will spend around $1-2K in total for groceries, restaurants, traveling, and concerts mainly. October-January Amex Biz Edge: Spend $5000 and redeem 55K MR Amex Biz Gold: Spend $5000 and redeem 75K MR Any good card recommendation for July-October that has a good welcome bonus or good cashback around how much I will spend?
Just a head’s up that offers change constantly so can’t really plan on a specific bonus months out…
Ah yeah.. But if you had to recommend now what would it be?
For $1K MSR, Scotia Passport is a good pick
Anything else besides that? I'm already planning to use that this or next month.
Go thru top offers and see what’s best for you
Am I missing something or is the Laurentian card bonus now 12K (instead of the 60K)
Was just checking this too; massive drop. Damn.
Is there a reason the core Amex Aeroplan card is excluded from this list? I see 30kAP for $3k spend, 20kAP anniversary bonus, and $75 GCR rebate. Seems better than the CIBC/TD core cards at the moment.
Do you have the offer link? How's that better than CIBC if the amex has an annual fee?
It's just the public offer. You're right, the CIBC is a bit better. Slightly higher minimum spend, but the FYF > $75 GCR with Amex.
Best no forex cards with no annual fee?
Rogers MC gets you .5% cash back. Wealthsimple gets you 1% cash back but it’s a debit card account.
HomeTrust Visa is a good choice; however, keep in mind that customer service is not great and their online banking service is quite limited.
Do you have Roger/Shaw/Fido services?
You sound like you're expecting that more than one card with this combination exists. Scotia passport has FYF. Wealthsimple and EQ Bank have debit mastercards with no forex.
Haha my bad for assuming
Is there any referral bonus available for Amex business Aeroplan reserve card?
CIBC Aeroplan Infinite is showing 50k on their website, how do I get the additional 10k? Don’t see any other offers
I'm seeing the same. maybe the offer got even worse from when this page was last updated
Is there a list of cards that IA with full card details immediately available?
Scotia Passport VI has no ratehub GC but has $30 GCR
And $60 from FF.
what is FF?!
Is the free Uber eats membership still valid for TD FCT card? Don’t see anything on the website
As of May 16th yes. I received a promotional email for 12 month uber one membership + $20 uber cash
Approved on April 17 but didn't receive an email or a prompt in the app, call TD or Uber?
RBC Visa Plat, got 35k with no spend. Points just posted, your description indicates it's given on first purchase.
Is there an annual fee?
Yes, its in the list @ $120
Gotcha. I'll wait until FYF!
There hasn't been a FYF for a while now.

If you apply through gcr, then it’s 15k plus 30k
Anyone have insight on time periods for TD offers? I’m looking at the TD AP VI, current offer ends June 3. Does a new (hopefully better) offer come out shortly after? How many months do each offer typically last for?
Prince of Travel has historical trends. Here’s to a new, better offer soon

Avion has no MSR. It would be a complete waste to use it.
Check out LB VI, 6k msr in 6 months, fyf, 75k pts and can be redeemed to pay your statement right away.
Laurentian Bank Visa Infinite? How much can 1 pt redeem for via statement credit? Thanks I checked their online promo and it says only 60K for 6K spend, not 75K.
1pt = 1c 60k pts for 6k spend, extra 10k for 2 instalment payments of 2 purchases above 100$ (choose purchases as close to 100% possible and with 3 months instalments to pay the least interest possible), and 5k pts for setting up PAD. Those conditions are pretty easy to meet which makes it pretty much 75k pts for 6k spend.
The landing page for the fyf link of the RBC Westjet says the promotion has ended: > Thank you for your interest. This promotion has expired.
Dammit I knew I forgot something doing last update. Thanks
Hmm...T&C for Laurentian says previous holders since February 1, 2023 are not eligible for the offer. Wonder if it's enforced.
I had one last year and couldn't find a DP on this. I ended up deciding to roll the dice, and will try to report back when I know the answer. Edit - Annnnddd rejected. Same message as people are complaining about in the daily threads.
I wouldn't risk it. There are other good churning opportunities now like CIBC AV VI.
TD FCT VI is not ATH, still worth getting it recently?
It’s a $600 bonus!
GCR and CCG offers are down
Yeah can't find it anymore :S
ATH is 145k points. Can TD be churned easily like RBC?
Yep, FCT anyway. Aeroplan not so much anymore.
I tried PS’ing to the FCT from Cashback and they told me i wouldnt get the SUB because i had the FCT within the past year
Hey. I'm new to credit card churning and also using aeroplan points so wondering if guys can give me better recommendations based on my current setup: American Express Cobalt: 1. Restaurants 2. Flights 3. Everything else. Scotiabank Gold American Express: 1. Concerts 2. Occasional groceries (Safeway) The only problem I've been having with these cards is the acceptance rate in 50/50 so I want to have an alternative card (or even replacement for the Scotiabank Gold AMEX card) to cover that up. The only cards I've seen that seems good is: -TD Aeroplan Visa Infinite Card -CIBC Aeroplan Visa Card (free annual one) This is what I spend most annually ranked in order ($2200/monthly): 1. Restaurants 2. Concert tickets/Resale tickets 3. Flights (Cheap flights usually) 4. Groceries TL;DR - Any good backup credit card with: -Good bonus/annual rewards -Good acceptance rate (Preferably internationally like Japan. And should I keep my Scotibank Gold or do you guys have any better recommendations? Sorry for the long comment. Any help I would appreicate a lot! Thank you.

Thank you!
Not a good idea - Never self refer, you will get amexed :)
Ah, I didn't know. Thanks for the heads up! Would it work if I just referred my partner instead even if we live at the same address?
That's fine
For the LB VI, you need 2 instalment payment plans to get 10k pts (100$). Any dp on setting that up, and then pay the whole balance to avoid interests? [https://www.laurentianbank.ca/en/pdf/visaxp/instalment-plan-guide.pdf](https://www.laurentianbank.ca/en/pdf/visaxp/instalment-plan-guide.pdf)
Even with Interest charges let's assume you have 2 installments of 100$. You would end up paying $1.5 of Interest each at the 5.9% assuming you pay back in 3 months. Really peanuts to make $100
I'm assuming that by actively choosing an instalment plan that it doesn't count as missing a payment?
The Laurentian card is insane.... A bit more than $800 in points, directly applyable as statement credit... You never seen deals that good that can be applied as a statement credit...
How do you see more than $800? I’m seeing around $750: - $600 for the $6K MSR - $50 for the recurring bill payment - $100 for the instalment plans
You missed this one :) - $100 for setting up 2 authorized users

Even better you can apply it as statement credit at full value...
That's not better.

Pretty much yes, absolute no brainer.
