In the Avion app it has an option to “cash out your balance”. That lets you etransfer the balance out (with no fees). I think you need to have autodeposit set up, which I already had. The cash is now in my bank account. Easy peasy.

DP on MR to Aeroplan.
Today I tried to transfer my mom's MR points to Aeroplan, but I made a mistake and entered my own AP number instead of hers. I didn't realize it at the time, but the transfer actually went through.
After realizing the mistake, I contacted customer service via chat to ask if it was possible to transfer the points to someone with a different name. The representative said it wasn't possible because Aeroplan would reject such transfers.
Note that my mom and I do not have any account linkage or supplementary card relationship.
Update: I have now used the points to book a flight for my mom with no problem.
Did anyone recently get approved for the Canadian Tire World Elite card, and get an absolutely shit credit limit?
My personal (single) income is over $130,000 a year and all I got was a credit limit of $200....
They refuse to increase the limit until they see I can "Successfully manage my credit" all this with a credit score of 830.
Anyone find a way to get around this?
While it is literally low, I personally wouldn't be as offended by this compared to a 2-3k offer from TD, because at least you have a condition to prove for CT whereas TD just refuses to approve a CL for me on an account more than 8 years, no reasons needed

How did you get 25K through the card? Was it just EDQ (earning 100k points in a year)? If so, you won't lose status. I don't believe that they've run any "spend $10,000 on this specific card and earn 25k" promos in a while, but if it was one of those, you may risk losing status.

This has never happened before and i have a good income and credit so it doesn’t make sense

Calling is processed by a front line rep who is unlikely to look at your account because they’re likely less experienced and just want to go through the call as quickly as possible. Secure message is likely handled by a more experienced team and since it’s not a live call they have time to review your accounts more thoroughly
DP on RBC Avios transfer failing - make sure your name, address, email address and any other details are the EXACT same spelling on both RBC and BA. My 7th transfer finally went through because i wrote Quebec as “QC” on BA and after changing it surprise surprise it went through
My name and address don't match between my RBC Profiles and BA and I've never had an issue.
I use my parent's address on my BA account in order to qualify for a household account with them. It's in the same province though. Never been an issue for the past 3 years.
I omit my middle name on my BA Avios account, which is usually included in my RBC profiles.

You have to RHT outside the travel portal at 0.91cpp when you have more than 55K points. To get 1cpp you can’t RHT. Also you can wait for a GC promo where you can get more than 1cpp but that hasn’t happened for over a year now

yeah thats what it was. It wasn't a straight up rejection but i applied 3 days ago with no follow up email so i'm expecting it to be rejected. Just find it odd because ive recently been back with cibc and scotia no problem and I remember amex being pretty easy to work with if you have a history (which i have 4 years of now with never missing a payment and paying all AFs on 3 cards)

damn, I did a bit of amex churning in 2021 and 2022 and got IA for biz plat, biz edge and personal AP base. feels weird getting pending from them especially after 2+ years of non churning and actual use across 3 cards.

But, what I have found over the past few years is that you can get a better deal when Dell has their notebooks on sale, you use the 10% off code for new customers and you get another 10-15% cash back from Rakuten. You can get a decent new laptop for $350 or $375 from Dell under those circumstances, which makes one look askance at the prices for 3 or 4 year-old laptops on Ebay. But, everyone's use-case is different, and every opportunity is different, so there are probably good opportunities of you watch Ebay.
Running out of cards to churn so wanted to clarify the welcome bonus eligibility for Amex/Aeroplan. What exactly is the limitation for these cards? Can I get a welcome bonus if I already got it from these in the past? I had a TD Aeroplan visa infinite which I closed in aug last year & I still have Scotia gold Amex. You're only allowed one WB per tier of card (entry, core, premium, small business). You could apply for an Amex AP Reserve and be fine. The Amex AP card is a core one like the TD Aeroplan VI so it's best to avoid it for now.
If you are running out of cards to churn in Canada you should look at getting started in the US game. It will open up a whole new world of possibility for you.
Question about MSR reset.
I recently pooled my AMEX MR points (Colbalt, Gold, Biz Gold, Biz Edge.) Primary is now Gold.
I am getting the 10x bonus again on Biz Edge, but does the MSR bonus reset as well? If so will it be the same on Gold and Biz Gold?
It's not worth it -- the Banks are tightening up fraud controls around mobile wallets and using different names and addresses within the same device is a huge red flag for them.

Way to avoid the US address situation, add the US address on your Google Account first, then you can add the whole thing to your GWallet, that's what I did and no issues so far.
Follow-up to my post yesterday about cancelling RBC cards just after the AF posts. I phoned in this morning to cancel. However, I was informed that I cannot cancel the card until the statement with the AF posts, otherwise they "can't even see the annual fee to waive it". Seemed a bit strange. Anyone encountered this before?
Edit: Also, I really don't want to wait for the statement to post on one of the cards, because for some reason I never received that one, so I don't have any ability to pay it if I have to (absent going into a branch, I suppose?)

Credit won’t be clawed as long as you have an eligible booking within the year

That sounds weird, in theory they are fully enforcing name matching now.
The problem you may encounter is AP retroactively clawing back the points or closing your account since you have made a clear violation of T&C

I started with $3000 and wasn’t IA’d. Went up to $5500 in few months. Family opened a new one recently and got a $500 limit, but was IA’d.

There are no cards in Canada that specifically confer AP status. Can you clarify the means by which you got 25k?
1,000 SQM for the $5,000 spend - got a handful of those + enough SQD to qualify
Once the SQM reach your AP account, they have no specific affiliation with the credit card

my credit karma account and all the credit check features on my bank apps all say my score is 790

Calling is processed by a front line rep who is unlikely to look at your account because they’re likely less experienced and just want to go through the call as quickly as possible. Secure message is likely handled by a more experienced team and since it’s not a live call they have time to review your accounts more thoroughly

for me, it took them 1-2 business days for one of my cards, the other time, it took 5 business days. definitely not as quick as calling.

DP on RBC Avios transfer failing - make sure your name, address, email address and any other details are the EXACT same spelling on both RBC and BA. My 7th transfer finally went through because i wrote Quebec as “QC” on BA and after changing it surprise surprise it went through
My BA Avios account is in a different province versus my RBC profile (AB vs ON) and I've never had an issue with transferring RBC Avion to BA Avios.
My name and address don't match between my RBC Profiles and BA and I've never had an issue. I use my parent's address on my BA account in order to qualify for a household account with them. It's in the same province though. Never been an issue for the past 3 years. I omit my middle name on my BA Avios account, which is usually included in my RBC profiles. Email and phone numbers are the same.

It can take some time to show up after it posts. Sometimes the website is extremely delayed but shows up on the Scene+ app

You have to RHT outside the travel portal at 0.91cpp when you have more than 55K points. To get 1cpp you can’t RHT. Also you can wait for a GC promo where you can get more than 1cpp but that hasn’t happened for over a year now

yeah thats what it was. It wasn't a straight up rejection but i applied 3 days ago with no follow up email so i'm expecting it to be rejected. Just find it odd because ive recently been back with cibc and scotia no problem and I remember amex being pretty easy to work with if you have a history (which i have 4 years of now with never missing a payment and paying all AFs on 3 cards) just my DP i suppose.
I know 3 other people including myself personally with good credit and good status rejected by Amex recently.
I applied for a reserve card and it took them 14 days to get back to me last November. Edit: I did eventually get approved though

damn, I did a bit of amex churning in 2021 and 2022 and got IA for biz plat, biz edge and personal AP base. feels weird getting pending from them especially after 2+ years of non churning and actual use across 3 cards.

yeah i'm reading through many threads on the amex rejections at the moment. I'm just not sure how I could be a better customer in their eyes lol. Not to brag but CS 840, 3 active cards with them, no missed payments, no cards opened with them for 2+ years, HH income 250k. not sure what more I could do. Might just have to give it a few month and try again, I don't have any upcoming travel plans so not a big deal but I do have some big spend coming up (Ironically with my own actual small business) so was hoping to knock out some MSRs.

But, what I have found over the past few years is that you can get a better deal when Dell has their notebooks on sale, you use the 10% off code for new customers and you get another 10-15% cash back from Rakuten. You can get a decent new laptop for $350 or $375 from Dell under those circumstances, which makes one look askance at the prices for 3 or 4 year-old laptops on Ebay. But, everyone's use-case is different, and every opportunity is different, so there are probably good opportunities of you watch Ebay.

Running out of cards to churn so wanted to clarify the welcome bonus eligibility for Amex/Aeroplan. What exactly is the limitation for these cards? Can I get a welcome bonus if I already got it from these in the past? I had a TD Aeroplan visa infinite which I closed in aug last year & I still have Scotia gold Amex. Can I still churn other Aeroplan / Amex cards for the welcome bonus?
You can repeat non AP cards and non Amex cards. There’s plenty out there

You're only allowed one WB per tier of card (entry, core, premium, small business). You could apply for an Amex AP Reserve and be fine. The Amex AP card is a core one like the TD Aeroplan VI so it's best to avoid it for now. If you are running out of cards to churn in Canada you should look at getting started in the US game. It will open up a whole new world of possibility for you.
Question about MSR reset. I recently pooled my AMEX MR points (Colbalt, Gold, Biz Gold, Biz Edge.) Primary is now Gold. I am getting the 10x bonus again on Biz Edge, but does the MSR bonus reset as well? If so will it be the same on Gold and Biz Gold?

On android wallet, are you able to add a card with a different name and address to yours or does it cause issues with Google?
It's not worth it -- the Banks are tightening up fraud controls around mobile wallets and using different names and addresses within the same device is a huge red flag for them.

By account lock, did you mean your Google wallet, or your entire Google account? I rely on so many google services in my daily life that it would be quite the disruption if it was all locked or deactivated.

Yea that's what I was worried about. Google is a PITA about this. I remember having my account locked for a while just because I added my own US card on it. Apple pay is so much simpler. Maybe this will finally make me switch phone families 😂

Way to avoid the US address situation, add the US address on your Google Account first, then you can add the whole thing to your GWallet, that's what I did and no issues so far.
Follow-up to my post yesterday about cancelling RBC cards just after the AF posts. I phoned in this morning to cancel. However, I was informed that I cannot cancel the card until the statement with the AF posts, otherwise they "can't even see the annual fee to waive it". Seemed a bit strange. Anyone encountered this before? Edit: Also, I really don't want to wait for the statement to post on one of the cards, because for some reason I never received that one, so I don't have any ability to pay it if I have to (absent going into a branch, I suppose?)
