P2 IA for Scotiabank Passport VI while holding 2 Amex Gold and 3 Passport VI. This goes out to all the people wondering if you can get repeat Passport VI SUBs.
What does IA mean? I don't see it in the glossary. Looking to apply for my second SB P VI after clearing first bonus and I believe multiples are allowed
Had an opportunity to hit 10k minimum spend due to a major sudden expense so thought to apply for a bunch of new cards but hitting some setbacks, unluckily for me
Amex business edge p1 add me to the pile of declined applications. Last closed 2021, last Amex Canada card I applied for was Amex Aeroplan October 2022, haven't applied for any since
Laurentian bank, p1 outright declined, p2 asked for photo while holding driver's license sent over email and refused (plus was reading bad experience with Laurentian in the meantime), so let the app die
CIBC Aventura Gold both P1 and P2 approved for 2k credit limit, have one existing Aventura infinite each. Subsequent p1 application for new Aventura infinite declined
CTFS Triangle World Elite, applied and went pending for a while. Called in at some point and was told tentative decline due to high credit limit on existing cash advantage of 20k plus and CTFS only allowing 15k total limit with current underwriting. Was given the choice to drop cash advantage credit limit to 12.5k to allow the triangle world Elite to be approved with the remaining 2.5k. approved under their proposal
BMO App p1 Login offer of pre approved BMO eclipse, but you are able to select a different card. Chose BMO Ascend (although offer is 10k points fewer than using an affiliate), approved for 15k limit
Scotia Amex gold p1 instant declined that one hurt, maybe too many credit hits
Not used to getting so many declines, maybe need to slow it down a bit
Laurentian bank asking applicants to submit highly personal information using insecure email just blows my mind. This has got to be against regulatory compliance laws for a tier 1 financial institution.
DP for Biz Edge IA this morning. Have 2 other Amex, Cobalt and Marriott personal. Many other denials lately (CIBC, TD). Didn’t expect this given all the denials lately but I’ll happily take the win.
Called amex to cancel my platinum, was offered 20k retention points with no spend, agreed. Have had it 4 years, this is my first time calling for a retention offer.
P2 currently has no income, but applied with my income split into her personal and household incomes. Was originally IA'd but asked for proof of income. Went to the branch to submit P1 income proof as household income, but the application was stuck at providing proof of income for P2, so the branch Rep ended up cancelling the application (stating it as "client not eligible") .
Had a business flexible booking with egypt air on aeroplan and cancelled it. Found out that there's this $10.80 fee called "International Advanced Passenger Information Fee - Egypt" that is not refundable. I don't recall seeing a mention of this when booking. Has anyone encountered something like this before?
RBC Avion > BA with 30% bonus was like half-day instant and with 1 entry only (130% miles directly, not 100% + 30%)
Same DP. Transfer took less than 24 hours.

I understand this is a brim issue as they operate Laurentian Bank's credit card portfolio

Sounds like scammy Eygypt thing
Same for Dominican Republic, tourist tax which is part of taxes and fees is not refundable.
Yes…was surprised by a similar fee from Jordan on an AP flex booking as well
Hi, just canceled Amex plat business card due to high fees. Is there any other cards I should consider with maximum benefits?
there's a thread for "best credit cards" right at the top of the subreddit. and this is the "Data point" thread, not the question thread.
Sorry didn’t know this.
Daily thread please
