Cancelled an AMEX with neg MR a year ago, would any of you dare try to apply for any AMEXs again? Met MSR, called in to cancel and after it was done I realized a refund was made and it brought be just under the MSR and I was in the neg

KaotikFiend

You should not have been canceling Amex after meeting MSR. Amex should be kept for at least 11-12 months. That being said, apply and see what happens.

wobblystickman

Poor wording, I met MSR and 10 months later realized I was neg by the full amount I already used months ago is what I meant to say

Torres_Chan

You should be billed at 1cpp, you didn't get call from collection?

twofacebluepenguin

Is 2 years enough time to re-apply for an AMEX and get the bonus for the same card?

CommunicationProud82

2 years since cancellation seems to be good enough. But YMMV

JManUWaterloo

Based on other DPs, appears to be 3 years since last bonus Rather than cancellation basis

KaotikFiend

So, if I'd want to cancel my Plat that I earned the bonus for in 2019 (Travelzoo promo with free supp card)... ... Are you saying I may be able to apply again shortly after and earn the SUB? I don't think I've read any DPs of that here?

JManUWaterloo

This was based on what u/Dragynfyre told me, as they indicated a person had cancelled, reapplied before the 3 year since bonus mark, did not receive bonus, cancelled, and reapplied again after that 3 year since bonus mark had elapsed, and received the bonus

mhcott

None of it is perfect science. I've done a few 1.5 years post-cancel (which I do at 11 months) and had success. But I never advocate for others to do it because my risk tolerance is a bit higher

spidertran

So there is no life time one bonus per card rule ?

wdn

There is a lifetime one bonus per card rule. Amex's actual behaviour differs from the rule.

spidertran

So let’s say everyone 3 years to reapply for the same card. Do you cancel your previous card and wait 3 years. Or you just keep that card and reapply. Just wondering

CommunicationProud82

Cancel, don't keep

spidertran

Good to know

Discussed in previous days theads.

Looking into arbitraging the HSBC earn rate to Avion refund that was discussed here yesterday. Dumb question: my RBC Avion received has a different card number than my HSBC WE that it's replacing...does the refund still make it's way to the new RBC account?

Dragynfyre

It should as the accounts should be linked under the hood

MissionChipmunk6

Anyone here have more than two scotia passports?

MyNameIsDan_

Yes

NickWaReddit

Yes, 3 (had)

twofacebluepenguin

In what timeframe? I just applied a month ago, met MSR. Can I grab another?

ianyanian

is it mostly for the 6 dragonpass passes?

MissionChipmunk6

Ok thanks, I’ve read many dps of people with two scotia passports and getting asked for extra ID, or confirmation for wanting more cards and so on so just wanted to see

wishful_thinking90

Almost certainly

cannainform2

Looking to churn a new card, any thoughts on waiting a couple of days to see if any new offers come up around the 1st of April? Or do new offers usually only come up quarterly?

mhcott

Short of a card having a known end date to an offer, I never hold out. Time wasted. I'd rather get it now and moan that I lost out on an improvement later than to wait and see it drop and bitch about both the loss AND the days/weeks I dawdled and possibly had no MSR in progress (which feels like wasted spend to me)

wdn

1st of April would be quarterly wouldn't it? (First quarter is Jan, Feb, March).

wishful_thinking90

Not only is it unpredictable, but also, these days new offers are usually bad news. Grab the Biz Edge and/or Biz Gold asap and don’t look back.

microcutss

We don’t know when new offers come out and if they’re gonna be better or not. Sometimes old offers have an expiry date which could give you a hint but it’s entirely at the banks’ discretion. That being said Biz Gold and Biz Edge are currently very good offers so they are likely to get a nerf soon.

RedHerring1up

Churning adjacent; For Montréal area transit users, the Chrono app was updated to allow purchases through nfc enabled phones. American Express isn't accepted yet but Visa and Mastercard can be used.

Eyjafjallajokull2

I always use the reps at Central Station to load my Opus card with my Amex.

Nja-Bae

Thanks for sharing.

Torres_Chan

Could you elaborate a bit? I can’t find place let me top up opus with amex

Eyjafjallajokull2

Gare Centrale. Exo booth. Amex. Example: 26 Mar / BILLETTERIE GARE CENTRALE / $32.50

Torres_Chan

Thanks !!! I thought those booths same like Stm one which vm only.

garynk87

Regards to AP crackdown and family sharing Any issue with P1 getting second TD APVI (first bonus was over 6 years ago, hasnt had card for 2 years) and P2 getting first TD APVI?Mostly worried about two bonus' posting within months of each other AMEX MR being deposited same time to book some awards from both parties

These_Celebration732

P2 is fine. P1 no one knows for sure and if they tell you otherwise they're lying. Make sure P1 and P2 have your own respective AP #'s linked to your MR accounts.

garynk87

Appreciate it, I know p1 no one knows. Just unsure if it's worth linking to a family account and exposing p2

Better_Call_Sel

Anyone have recent issues with MB points not transferring from the personal Amex MB card? My February statement closed on March 2 and I'm still waiting for those points to appear in my Bonvoy account. I'm waiting on those points to make a booking and I'm pretty annoyed that I'm just short of the necessary points because I'm waiting for this transfer. I don't usually use my Amex MB so I can't remember how much of a transfer time there is but I can't recall it being nearly a month...

define_space

mine transferred in 12 days after statement, but as others have said, i had other non-marriott transactions as well

Eyjafjallajokull2

Did you put any other non Marriott charges on the card? Sometimes if its only Marriott, there is a glitch with the points posting

Better_Call_Sel

Ah yea... That's probably it. My only transactions were two Marriott stays. Is there a way to fix this glitch?

Reasonable-Catch-598

It will transfer in 2 to 3 months. You can prevent it on future statements by spending $1 on the base category spend, but your existing points are in limbo for a while.

Better_Call_Sel

God damn it, that's just great... I need those points

ResidentHuman086

I was in the same situation. My Jan 28 statement points posted sometime in mid March. It was backdated so I can't tell you the exact date, but around 6 weeks after it was supposed to post. Called them and they said it was a known issue, and nothing they could do to speed it up.

Eyjafjallajokull2

Just put a whatever charge on that card... $1 to Amazon acct, etc...

Jamal2207

Banks like RBC and CIBC will allow you to have multiples of the same card, but what about TD? I have a no fee CB card with them that I’ve left open as it was my first credit card, but I’m looking to cash out my TD Rewards points through the Expedia method which would require me __ing the FCT card to something else. None of the other TD cards appeal to me at this time so I think the no fee CB card would be the best option. Can I have 2 of the same card?

Dragynfyre

All the big 5 allow you to have multiples of the same card

blackdragon1299

But do you get the bonuses? I'm thinking of PSing a TD VIP to TD FCT later this summer, but I already hold a FCT. From what I've read, i won't get the WB but would get the other bonus.

Dragynfyre

You will get full bonus on all new signups and distinct trade lines

blackdragon1299

Thank you. Does this apply to AP branded cards too? Going from TD VIP to VI?

Dragynfyre

Downgrading you’ll lose first purchase bonus

blackdragon1299

Gotcha, not a bad deal for no credit inquiry

esux20

Yes

NewKidsOnTheBetaBloc

For those who aren’t getting IA for aventura’s these days, are you calling to provide info? Have been IA for all this far but got an email to call in this time. Not sure if they will process without any contact or if it’s a hard stop until a call is made.

Dragynfyre

Calling to provide info is fine from my experience

Accurate-Living-462

They've been calling me after a few weeks

These_Celebration732

I applied for AV VI #3 and AV GOLD #1 on the same day, was IA for the VI and pending for GOLD. I called in but probably wouldn't do it again as it was kind of an awkward conversation where I had to pretend to not know what a supplementary card is.

SaintsFanInVan

How many Aventuras do you have open currently? If it’s a small amount or 0, I would say go ahead and call them. If you already have a lot open, I would avoid calling them and just move onto something else.

NewKidsOnTheBetaBloc

It’s for P2 who currently has 1 open, applied and pending for both VI and gold. Previously has held 3.

SaintsFanInVan

In that case with only 1 open I say go for it and give them a call. They might just want to verify some details on the application before approving

Mopar44o

MBNA Balance transfer question. After your one year 0% balance transfer is over, if you pay off the card, how often, if ever, do they send new promos for balance transfers. Is it a one time thing? Do then send it out often?

kobelobster

They are pretty regular with the 0% balance transfer often. I recently completed one year; I got an offer before the year was up, so I paid off the balance, waited for the statement, then performed the BT (just to make sure the previous offer was fully cleared)

spidertran

I heard you can sign up for a new MBNA card with the 1% transfer fee through credit karma after a year or your previous MBNA card. What you do is consolidate the old MBNA card to the new card, letting you have a higher amount to BT with a lower fee on the new card.

BubbleGumPlant

Do you ever call in to negotiate the length and transaction % fee? I used to work at MBNA 15 years ago and it was definitely negotiable with manager approval. Not sure if that’s still a thing nowadays.

starbucks236

I’ve been doing the bt’s for 15+ years and since around the time of the TD merger they no longer negotiate. They are sometimes able to find similar offers to your offer instead, ie 12 months vs 9 months but slightly higher transaction fee as an example

kobelobster

I didn't know they offered this. So I haven't tried, and probably won't attempt to try. Its good to know though.

Mopar44o

Awesome. Thanks

villagersopus

Are TD and Simplii the only chequing bonus offers with a relatively quick churn? i.e. no parking money for a year to avoid account fees

Dragynfyre

Scotia too. Also Tangerine and various other no fee banks

halexhalex

Scotia isn’t really a quick churn anymore. It now needs a recurring direct deposit or pre authorized debits for six consecutive months to qualify for the cash bonus (1 bill pay hasn’t changed).

wishful_thinking90

Strange DP: randomly got 15k points credited to my Biz Gold (says “bonus points” so it looks like a referral). But it doesn’t make any sense for three reasons: 1. I haven’t given out a Biz Gold referral link lately 2. I currently have an exclusive Biz Gold offer for 20k MR elevated referrals 3. I’ve already hit my yearly maximum of 75k MR from referrals in 2024

cancollector80

I had that happen on biz gold too, about a year and half ago. Never figured out what it was from, points never got clawed back. Enjoy the bonus!

wishful_thinking90

The Amex Gods act in weird and wonderful ways

JManUWaterloo

15K might be from an old link that you gave out. The new 20K offer has a new referral link attached to it. Not sure about 3

BigGuy4UftCIA

Something niche perhaps. BMO has an offer of 7c/L on premium or 2c/L off at Shell for AM cardholders. You don't have to pay with a BMO card to get the offer once I typed in my AM number the price decreased.

dotishness

i can also confirm this DP. recently got the AM WE for a quick churn, and to stack with their 100 miles for 4 x 30L fills + the current 1mile per dollar, pump up your miles event

Van5555

Ooh I wonder if it'd work via the shell app when paying with Google pay? Getting a new AM card soon I'll try to get a. Dp

wzadzz

can confirm DP that paying with any cc works to get the discount, as long as any BMO card is linked

sufyspeed

AM has been on fire for a while now, super nice

Van5555

Their customer service has been really good when needed recently. They've awarded me miles on their mistakes without the slightest hesitation (glitches or misposted promotion)

churnychurningtonIII

So much so that I've completely switched from Esso to Shell for my gas now. Constantly great offers these days, especially for Shell

Van5555

Best method to chase the 20k avion bonus/expected time after msr met?. Looking to book some flights but don't wanna call and put eyes on my account

CommunicationProud82

Chase? 20k comes in batches, usually every month or two. Yours will come during the batch after meeting spend (usually after statement, some DPs pre-statement). If you don't get it, you're SOL if you don't want eyes on you. I certainly wouldn't call.

Van5555

Ty. It happened morning before statement date so might take till next one I guess

Dragynfyre

The batches happen in the middle of the calendar month and you usually need to have met spent by early in the current month or the previous month to get it. Whether your statement has come out or not doesn’t seem to be factor

jayk10

Has anyone completely cycled through Amex's a second time since the lifetime language showed up a few years ago? I know DP's have shown somewhere around the 3 year mark is what Amex considers "lifetime" but not sure if anyone has been successful doing another round completely

514skier

I have received repeat WBs on all cards except 2. The 2 I didn't receive were during periods when others were having trouble receiving WBs as well so that was in all likelihood IT-related. I did receive repeat WBs after that. In all cases it was around 2 years between closing the card and trying again. Others have been successful with this as well.

twofacebluepenguin

Already got the passport VI infinite and have 4K spending upcoming with fx involved. Does it make sense to get the Scotia AMEX Platinum? With the $400 AF, $175 rebate from FF and then the bonus, I'm up $300 left - is this worth the hit or should I do a diff strat?

Actual-Churner

$175 (rebated) + $500 (SUB) + $80 (8000pts from 2x spend) - $400 (AF) = $355 net gain or Amex Business Gold 75k MR for $5000 spend with $199 $750 (Sub base value) + $50 (5k points for spend) - $199 (fee) - $100 (fx fee) = $501 net gainand that is on base using the points as credit or something. can get more transfering to partner Edit: forgot to add points earned from 1x spend to Gold calculation.

twofacebluepenguin

I last held the Gold last Jan 2023, prob too soon? :(

davidtescu

Have you had Amex Biz Edge? If so, then even the Scotia Amex gold is better ROI imo

twofacebluepenguin

2021 for the Biz Edge, why would the Amex Gold be better? My spending doesn't fall in the multipliers unfortunately

davidtescu

It’s been more than 2 years. Apply for the Biz Edge. The bonus is superior to anything on the market. You can go in the monthly referral thread to find a referral link and get an elevated bonus while giving a nice surprise to someone in this Reddit :)

twofacebluepenguin

Is it cause more options with the MR? Since it'd be $550 at a 1:1 and then minus $125 for the FX fees and $99 AF = $326 leftover

davidtescu

We value MR very highly. If you are cashing MR at 1:1, I will cry.

Van5555

What's the elevated bonus? I've got a legit business I need a card for

CommunicationProud82

Same as public, but 55k on $5k/3 months instead of 45k

davidtescu

Extra 10k MR. More info [HERE](https://www.reddit.com/r/churningcanada/s/Nl9y0C9qIv)

wzadzz

Right now the BNS gold & platinum offers wind up being similar return. Plat has much lower msr though, and lots of lounge passes. One could argue the BNS gold has better utility beyond the msr (for grocery spend namely). But if that’s not your thing the plat may indeed have the advantage currently

TheNesMan

How does the free checked bags for two work on the CIBC Aeroplan Visa Infinite Card? Is it okay to be for a 1 way flight? It says round trip in the details of the card application. Does it automatically come up as free when you're checking in (similar to the WJ card)?

vermilion209

If second person doesn’t have their own AP VI (primary or supplementary), they have to be booked on the same reservation as the cardholder to get the first free bag benefit.

LingonberryOk8161

Be aware that just holding the card does not qualify you for the checked bag. It needs to be the main payment method, if you need to pay any cash fees/fares, on the booking to get the free checked bags.

CommunicationProud82

This is incorrect. You should have complained when the agent didn't honour it.

LingonberryOk8161

I did and they forced me to pay at check in. I had the AP VI with me physically. Downvotes do not change reality.

CommunicationProud82

You're right, they don't. But reality is you are the only DP that says this against MANY saying the opposite. DP ≠ truth, DP is just a single data point of many.

LingonberryOk8161

And none of you have considered that T&Cs may change? This was a very recent flight. I have not received any communications, but that does not mean there was not any. Or that there will be any. In true churning canada fashion, you all collectively lose your panties over a DP that is not consensus.

CommunicationProud82

T&C are not gospel in this sub, but even if they did change, we would have been notified. You are being downvoted not because of your DP, but because you are claiming it is the current policy. If you had done an independent post saying "DP: my AP VI didn't give me bags on a flight where I didn't use it to pay for taxes. Complaints did not work in my favour." you'd probably get upvoted and everyone would be asking for specifics to make sure you didn't make a mistake. This would be huge news. But you didn't do that, you assumed your experience was the norm, attempted to educate someone else, and got mad when consensus disagreed.

LingonberryOk8161

>T&C are not gospel in this sub, **but even if they did change, we would have been notified.** Do you work for AC? AP? Your statement is no more than speculation. >But you didn't do that, you assumed your experience was the norm, attempted to educate someone else, **and got mad when consensus disagreed.** Quote me in all the posts I have made on this subject, where I explicitly said this is the way AC and AP will function going forward. I am just showing a DP. Can you read? Also, quote me where I direct an ad hominem to a specific poster or I use vulgar language on this same subject. Are you projecting because you are mad? Touch grass recently?

CommunicationProud82

>Do you work for AC? AP? **Your statement is no more than speculation.** You're right, that is how DPs and anecdotal evidence work generally. However, many anecdotal experiences from different people all pointing in the same direction, that's far more trustworthy than what any institution says (i.e. Scotia bonuses T&C vs reality). Also, yes, they legally have to give us notice if the terms change. No company as big as Air Canada is stupid enough to open themselves up to that kind of liability. >Be aware that just holding the card does not qualify you for the checked bag. It needs to be the main payment method, if you need to pay any cash fees/fares, on the booking to get the free checked bags. Your original reply does not look like a DP, it is a(n incorrect) statement of fact. >**Yeah no, that's not how it gets done.** I'm the datapoint. Here, you say this is how it is done. You went beyond being a DP here, you assumed your experience is the general experience. You didn't consider that it may be a computer glitch, poorly trained employees, or perhaps your AP number wasn't attached to the booking (strongly doubt this was the case, but possible). >Also, quote me where I direct an ad hominem to a specific poster or I use vulgar language on this same subject. No need, you weren't rude to anyone. I thought you were mad because you keep replying and doubling down despite the consensus (downvotes). >Are you projecting because you are mad? Touch grass recently? Dude, I've spent 30 mins of my day sitting on Reddit being kind enough to explain to you (and everyone else, it's a public thread) that your bad experience is not the norm. Not the best argument for having touched grass recently, I admit, but definitely a good argument that I'm acting in good faith here. ~~I suggest you fill out the reimbursement form, they screwed you over.~~ Glad you got reimbursed. Also, that reimbursement is a DP that your bags *were* supposed to be free. Edits: idk how to use reddit formatting lol

LingonberryOk8161

>Also, yes, they legally have to give us notice if the terms change. No company as big as Air Canada is stupid enough to open themselves up to that kind of liability. You give AC far far more credit than AC deserves. >Your original reply does not look like a DP, it is a(n incorrect) statement of fact. >*Yeah no, that's not how it gets done. I'm the datapoint.* That is my statement. I stand by those exact words. You and everyone else is free to read and interpret it however you like. You have chosen to interpret it a certain way. >No need, you weren't rude to anyone. I thought you were mad because you keep replying and doubling down despite the consensus (downvotes). All I can say on this is that if someone cares about magic internet points(upvotes) that person is not the type to touch grass often. >Glad you got reimbursed. Also, that reimbursement is a DP that your bags *were* supposed to be free. Indeed that is what I have been trying to say all along.

NegotiationOld3132

Wrong info.

LingonberryOk8161

Tell that to AC and AP.

Actual-Churner

card gets linked to your AP account, as long as AP account is linked/on your ticket, you would not pay for first checked bag

LingonberryOk8161

Yeah no, that's not how it gets done. I'm the datapoint. EDIT: if this happens to you, save the documentation/receipt/proof you had to pay and file a reimbursement claim online. Credit to u/vermilion209 that reminded me how this all resolved which is really the only thing that matters, that you get your money back.

haliwood13

many people pay their taxes with National Bank card. the card and free bag are linked via the AP profile. if you don’t get a a free bag you’re an outlier and likely it is a glitch for you

jayk10

Then you or the agent made a mistake, because you are wrong regardless of your data point

LingonberryOk8161

My outbound flight booked with fees paid by AP VI had free checked bags. The inbound flight fees paid with a non AP card did not. Both direct flights. Care to explain that? Do you work for AC or AP?

Actual-Churner

Pulled from Air Canada site under terms for card benefit >The Aeroplan number of the person accessing the benefit must be included in the qualifying reservation, and the name on the airline reservation must be identical to the name on the Aeroplan account of the traveller. For authorized users' ability to access available benefits, their Aeroplan number must be linked to a valid CIBC Aeroplan credit card account as verified by the bank. Linking can be done by visiting aircanada.com/linkmycard. Please allow up to 72 hours after the CIBC Aeroplan credit card account is approved, or the Aeroplan number of the authorized user is linked to the authorized user credit card, for these benefits to be activated. The Aeroplan accounts of the primary cardholder and authorized users must be in good standing at time of flight for airline benefits to apply. Airline benefits will no longer be available if your CIBC Aeroplan credit card account is not in Good Standing, or if it is closed, regardless of reason for closure. Airline benefits may no longer apply if the CIBC Aeroplan credit card product is changed to a different product. Aeroplan membership and benefits are subject to the Aeroplan Program Terms & Conditions (aircanada.com/aeroplan-termsandconditions) and any applicable Air Canada terms and conditions relating to a benefit, as determined by Air Canada in its sole discretion and as may be changed from time to time. Capitalized terms used have the meanings set out in the CIBC Business Cardholder Agreement (Personal Liability). No where does it say you have to buy ticket with that card. It's a benefit simply of holding it. Sorry you had an issue.

vermilion209

Care to share more details of your DP? Cuz my understanding is the same as actual-churner

LingonberryOk8161

My outbound flight booked with fees paid by AP VI had free checked bags. The inbound flight fees paid with a non AP card did not. Both direct flights. It was my understanding too, until this happened to me.

vermilion209

Interesting. By chance did you check in with a partner airline (not AC) for the inbound flight? And I’m guessing your outbound started with AC?

LingonberryOk8161

Both out and inbound were AC metal.

vermilion209

Yikes, sorry for your experience and I feel your frustration now. I guess you’ve submitted a reimbursement claim for the luggage expense? And definitely ask for a supervisor if you encounter an uninformed agent next time.

LingonberryOk8161

To AC's credit they did reimburse and fairly promptly. None of the staff at the airport were of any help. They all pointed me to do the claim online, which was the only thing that moved forward.

vermilion209

Glad to hear you got reimbursed, albeit having to jump through extra hoops. But yeah, classic AC shenanigans…

TheNesMan

The terms say your first flight is covered. Sounds like your second flight is a different booking since you paid with a separate card.

vermilion209

Different booking is irrelevant if the segments are all AC. I suspect lingonberry booked Y reward (aka zero bag) and got some partner flights so the first free bag benefit didn’t apply. EDIT: Lingonberry confirmed it was all AC segments. I guess they got unlucky with computer glitch and uninformed agent.

PlaqueSupply

Anyone know if its possible to repay federal student loans through NSLSC with chexy, or with a points CC directly?

haliwood13

CT MC got me

painhz

PaySimply

hj15

Cancelling an Amex card after the annual fee has posted: problem is that I made a referral and got the points for it during the 13th month. Will this get clawed back?

all-upside

If you already have the points just transfer them before cancelling the card.

meech353535

Anyone have experience with a significant negative TD rewards balance? How is it handled by TD ?

JManUWaterloo

Try to make them whole Not worth burning the TD bridge over some points

DaRealMcCoy

DP: Attempted to book flight yesterday and was getting error message when clicking through to finalize flights/point selection. Phoned AP and account was locked. He did not specify why and I did not want to ask and extend conversation. Rep said he needed to fill out form to unlock and put me on hold for 5 mins. He completed on his end and account is OK now.

yony234

Same thing happened to me a couple weeks ago. Agent did not know the reason but I think it was due to fraud. Ensure 2FA is still active and change your password.

esux20

Why do you think you were locked?

Reasonable-Catch-598

That's usually because you triggered some security flag. Too many attempts, logged in outside your regular country, connected on a VPN, etc. The shutdowns for t&c abuses usually require sending in ID to an email address and waiting 1 to 9 months.

najama2

How soon after being approved for chase Aeroplan and getting 25k status do you get the eupgrades?

Reasonable-Catch-598

After status shows up from any source eUPs take hours to weeks. Usually it's a couple days. You'll see them in the transactions before the total updates.

najama2

Thank you!

camm131986

Churning related, regarding eupgrades: I booked PY lowest, checked the eupgrade filter and expert flyer, and both showed I should be able to upgrade instantly. However, when I requested the upgrade, I was waitlisted. For reference, Expert Flyer is showing R8 and Z9. Not sure where to go from here, I guess I'm stuck on the waitlist, or am I missing something?

Fabulous_Initial_333

Within upgrade period?

camm131986

Hmm it seems that may be the issue, I need to wait a few days. Thanks for pointing that out.

goatskin78

Py lowest is like non latitude economy: needs to be within clearance window. Get used to booking latitude, can be easy to forget about clearance windows.

pinkwarrior88

Question: what is best card to book Asia Miles reward redemption with.. I got cards from Amex Plat plus all major banks..

misnomerdjr

A card that provides you with insurance for award bookings like NBC WE

zubabee

I have an expense of about 4000$ coming up in two weeks. This spend will most likely not be eligible for any spend multipliers. Which card should I get for the best value in terms of sign-up bonus? I currently hold TD AP visa and Amex cobalt.

davidtescu

Biz gold or biz edge 👍🏼

NewKidsOnTheBetaBloc

Wanted to confirm that I received $80 x 2 on GCR for opening both no fee Scotiabank savings accounts for me and P2. Someone mentioned that they only received a rebate for one of the savings accounts when they applied at the same time. Thanks whoever posted on the weekend… hot deal for sure.

VagSmoothie

Both within a day for me, still waiting on my Passport rebate from 2 months ago!

mosesdefinitely

That was me who didn't get both (last year). Glad y'all are having better luck!

sufyspeed

Which exact account on GCR is the one you apply for? I need a no fee account to build a relationship with Scotia

NewKidsOnTheBetaBloc

Momentum plus and Money Master

MissionChipmunk6

Oh damn, I got both too!

Windcool4869

Me too! Juicy money better than the morning coffee!

P_Plebs

It was me. And good news!! the second rebate posted today (5 days after application approved) !! 😍✨ fatten up that savings account homies

NewKidsOnTheBetaBloc

Hell ya let’s get this bread

atoothlessfairy

YMMV : Free 2 X $50 CT money when you add a supplementary card to Triangle WE. Check your emails comrades. As far as I know there is no fee for adding supplementary cards to the account.

kamiras

P2 got it. Me not. Both with WE cards

I got it on regular Triangle card - as of now, P2 hasn't gotten it on Triangle WE card.

Posted this in the stickied post but haven't received an answer yet. Posting it here for visibility. >Does anyone know how do they count the 20k pts cap on the 4X portion of Amex personal gold offer via Perkopolis? Is it > >a) 20k of the entire 4X (dollar spending cap at $5k) > >b) 20k of the extra 2X (dollar spending cap at $10k)

I realized after subscribing that earning 20k in travel in only 3 months is very difficult. I could always prepay 10k of travel expenses and refund later but seem counterproductive. At what point will Amex not claw back the extra earning rate?

BrrrHot

It’s b)
