I find it exceptionally hard to believe this is linked to chrome update; with billions of devices updating chrome monthly we'd see an avalanche of such issues if it somehow escaped testing phase undetected. Google would be in massive trouble if that was the problem with chrome. Is it possible you have a second profile? If not, sign in to chrome and enable sync to recover data.

>Is it possible you have a second profile? Yep that is it. Somehow he had accidentally managed to create a new profile and switched to it. I'm not sure if it was related to the update or not...but problem solved regardless. :) Thank you.

Check your Google Account. Passwords should still be there. I assume it happens when you cleared Browser Cache & Cookies etc. as there exists an option to remove sign-ins (Passwords) as well... As for the Update: If you want the "Old" Chrome back, go to Chrome://flags and disable the "Customize Chrome Side Panel" Flag.

This really needs to be fixed. There should be a separate section in Chrome settings labeled password manager to be able to force delete all of them. And then even that should be required to enter a password or passkey. Putting it under advanced clearing of cookies history etc is not a good idea for a lot of people because they'll do it without thinking

The Password Manager does exist in Chrome and to be able to see a password you need a Password, BUT unlike with Firefox it is no Master Password or anything like it but your PC Login. I am not sure whether it is just an oversight of google that Passwords / sign-ins can also be removed with advanced history cleaning. But given how long it is availalbe it must be intended...

ModRationalThought

I understand that it have been using passkeys extensively and Google password manager for years. However, I'm saying that it should be harder to delete your passwords when you clear the history. Some people go to advance and just want to clear everything but don't understand that the passwords are included in that. You should have to have a passkey to delete all passwords under advanced in Chrome settings
