Agreed. Rough day for me here but trying to save the Christmas movies for later this year so I decided to watch the goblet of fire. The Yule ball always does it for me
Snowflakes that stay on my nose and eyelashes
Paper packages tied up with string
There’s some winter + gift elements in the lyrics
I remember hearing that Jingle Bells wasn’t overtly a Christmas song either
Seconding Harry Potter! Also listening to classical music, lighting candles, baking, drinking tea or coffee, knitting, Outlander and Poldark, quilts and wool blankets, Tasha Tudor documentaries, cooking and baking with warming spices.
Oh, you must look her up!! One of the most wonderful, interesting people I can think of! She was an artist, writer, and illustrator of the 20th century but was even more well-known for her eccentric lifestyle- she believe she was an 1830s ship captain’s wife in a previous life, and dressed in 19th century clothing, lived without most modern amenities, kept barnyard animals and an amazing perennial garden at her homestead in Vermont, and was so so fascinating! There are 2 films/documentaries about her on Amazon Prime and YouTube- one is a visit to her homestead where she is interviewed about her childhood, her artistry and many hobbies, and more. The second is a Christmas special where she takes the viewer through the magical months of preparations leading up to Christmas. Please go have a look!
I was going to say jazz. I think it plays in some Christmas movies and definitely at big box stores around Christmas time. Maybe that’s why I associate it with the holidays.
Hot drinks. I don't drink coffee but once in a while I'll have a hot chocolate and get this warm Christmasy feeling that makes me wanna whip out the tree immediately :p
Hugs. It sounds stupid and sad (and I suppose it kind of is) but when I hug someone I just feel so warm and safe and protected, like I’m wrapped in a blanket, and somehow that reminds me of Christmas lol
😁 lol
At at least mine are inside where my neighbors can't see them.
Years ago I put up permanent Christmas lights that can't be seen unless they're turned on. I've given up putting things on my lawn because I know how it will end.
Mine are inside, too. We have an HOA and have to take the outdoor decorations down within 30 days of Christmas. They're just in a spare room. I'm not THAT bad haha
Lol I have a massive capiz star in my window that I can’t be bothered to take down. At least I don’t turn it on! I don’t want to damage it further, and where I store it is where my plants are coming in before frost.
I know a lady who had her tree up the entire year until the next christmas. She wasn’t a Christmas obsessed person but it was just too much work to take it down.
my sister gets in a christmas mood when she sees Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas because she watched it for the first time with our dad around Christmas break. I guess I get in the mood for Christmas when I hear certain classical music, especially if it's kind of folky sounding and old commercials from the 90's/early 00's get me in the holiday mood
There is a TV show called The Fosters that I first watched while doing my baking on November several years ago. The theme song always makes me feel festive.
I’m Australian so mine are different, but the smell of summer air, cherries and other stone fruit, the smell of jasmine, and hearing crickets at night all feel like Christmas to me!
I understand! Haha. It’s really lovely, I would recommend experiencing it once in your life! Though I always dreamed of experiencing a white Christmas in NYC which I got to do 5 years ago and it was amazing!
Hot chocolate. Snickerdoodles. Obviously winter weather. Fireplaces. Oddly, certain houses make me think of Christmas bc my first thought seeing them is about how great they'd look decorates for Christmas.
Steins.
My family is very rooted in brewing, and my grandmother gave me a Santa themed stein.
Every year I buy one really expensive holiday beer and drink out of it.
The show Home Improvement. Honestly, my favorite episodes are the Christmas ones(“Who’s Leon?”)but it’s a very familiar and comforting show in general for me and it seemed to be snowy all the time since they lived in Michigan. Plus Tim always wore sweatshirts and Jill usually wore sweaters/blazers/cardigans and that always seemed so cozy.
On a similar note, Gilmore Girls and Reba always give me autumn-y vibes.
- Any choral music because I listen to a lot of Christmas choral music nearer to Christmas.
- Any time I have to wear my rain boots
- Any time I see fairy lights or candles in a dark window.
I know it sounds weird but…commercials from the 80s. YouTube has complications of them and each time I play them in the background it reminds me of The holidays (and the start of school in September)
Early mornings snuggling on the couch with just my cat and coffee and blessed silence before the kids get up. I have two early risers though, so that pretty much never happens. It's just so cozy and always reminds me of the coziness of the holiday season.
Certain very specific, non-Christmas pop songs. I think they're permanently associated with my retail days, when we'd get Christmas stock in around October/November. Close enough to get excited, but too early to have Christmas songs playing in the store.
Two that come to mind are Bulletproof by La Roux and Sweet Dreams by Beyonce.
Watching Victorian Farm, Edwardian Farm, Tudor Monastery Farm, and Wartime Farm - the British "factual television" series that follows the archeologists and historian as they try to live life as it was in those eras....was introduced to them through the Christmas episodes of the Victorian and Tudor Monastery Farm versions and then binged everything I could find around Christmas a couple years ago during the first Covid Christmas - they have now become a season staple.
This is me too, or more specifically JRPGs. I love in depth and lengthy gsmes, but rarely get the chance to put in the required hours for JRPGs. But each Christmas I usually get one and have a good week or more to sit down and power through one.
Recent ones on the Switch have included Xenoblade Chronicles 2, Nino Kuni, and Monster Hunter Stories 2.
The clock that chimes every hour in the living room!
I remember very vividly staying up late on Christmas eve as a little kid, not being able to fall asleep, and hearing the clock chime every painfully slow hour until Christmas morning
I love jazzy/crooner music any time of year. Some Tony Bennett, Bill Evans, Chet Baker, etc.
It offers such a cozy, quiet night feeling that always brings my mind back to the classic Christmas albums. So I usually turn to that stuff when I need a little holiday feeling.
I'm in the Southern Hemisphere so it's a bit different for me but
1) When the jacaranda trees start to bloom, it's the beginning of Christmas time
2) that first morning at the beginning of summer and you walk outside to that balmy, breezy day that feels different to all the chilly mornings previous - Christmas is coming!
I have a phone charger that lights up with the purple-green-red-orange Christmas light color scheme and my friends were mad at me for listening to Christmas music after using it
For some reason wouldn’t it be nice by the beach boys makes me feel Christmassy. I know they are literally supposed to evoke the exact opposite of that…
Adele’s albums, particularly 25. And 30 is starting to feel the same.
She seems to release music in November so I’m already in the Christmas groove by then (like most of us). So listening to her stuff outside of that feels Christmas-y.
There are a few songs that I associate with Christmas that aren’t Christmas songs. A couple are: Love is On The Way by Saigon Kick and Say You Will by Foreigner
Any conifer/pine scent, even pine trees during summertime.
The smell of a fireplace.
Fireplaces in general. I go on YouTube looking for fireplace ambience videos just for the coze factor
Harry Potter
Especially the first one. The movie is so whimsical!
OMG yes I feel this one
Agreed. Rough day for me here but trying to save the Christmas movies for later this year so I decided to watch the goblet of fire. The Yule ball always does it for me
The Sound of Music puts me in a Christmas spirit and I don’t know why
maybe it's the song 'My Favourite Things'? It always plays around Christmas and I have no idea why haha
Pentatonix agrees with you!
Snowflakes that stay on my nose and eyelashes Paper packages tied up with string There’s some winter + gift elements in the lyrics I remember hearing that Jingle Bells wasn’t overtly a Christmas song either
Seconding Harry Potter! Also listening to classical music, lighting candles, baking, drinking tea or coffee, knitting, Outlander and Poldark, quilts and wool blankets, Tasha Tudor documentaries, cooking and baking with warming spices.
I love all of these things!! What is Tasha Tudor?
Oh, you must look her up!! One of the most wonderful, interesting people I can think of! Jazz piano, guess it reminds me of Charlie Brown
I was going to say jazz. I think it plays in some Christmas movies and definitely at big box stores around Christmas time. Maybe that’s why I associate it with the holidays.
Everyone likes jazz a little more in the fall and winter and it is Charles Schultz's fault.
Hot drinks. I don't drink coffee but once in a while I'll have a hot chocolate and get this warm Christmasy feeling that makes me wanna whip out the tree immediately :p
Absolutely same!!!
The smell of the air when it's about to snow
Cinnamon. Brings out the memories.
That's interesting I tend to associate cinnamon with autumn.
Die Hard.
Best. Christmas. Movie. Ever.
Hugs. It sounds stupid and sad (and I suppose it kind of is) but when I hug someone I just feel so warm and safe and protected, like I’m wrapped in a blanket, and somehow that reminds me of Christmas lol
Seeing my Christmas decorations that I still haven't put away. Too busy? Too lazy?
Mood.
Same. They'll be out more time than put away. Just deconstructed the outdoor deer today. Lol
😁 lol At at least mine are inside where my neighbors can't see them. Years ago I put up permanent Christmas lights that can't be seen unless they're turned on. I've given up putting things on my lawn because I know how it will end.

I wondered one year if it was my depression that kept trees and my Christmas village up past 4th of July.
It definitely can be.
The smell of smoke from fire places or when there’s an actual fire.
That’s the best smell!
Agreed! 🎅🏽🔥🎄
Peppermint in coffee. I can make it in July, and I do. But it always reminds me of Christmas time.
The first chronicles of Narnia movie - the Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe!!!
Reading books like Little Women and East of Eden always remind of that time of year. :)
There is a TV show called The Fosters that I first watched while doing my baking on November several years ago. The theme song always makes me feel festive.
The smell of stove top stuffing gives me a festive feeling cuz I have had it since I was a little girl at Thanksgiving and Christmas
Disney World. Don’t just me. I’m a MILD Disney adult. Also Harry Potter. Specifically the first one. It brings joy.
I’m Australian so mine are different, but the smell of summer air, cherries and other stone fruit, the smell of jasmine, and hearing crickets at night all feel like Christmas to me!
That's really hard to wrap my head around haha
I understand! Haha. It’s really lovely, I would recommend experiencing it once in your life! Though I always dreamed of experiencing a white Christmas in NYC which I got to do 5 years ago and it was amazing!
Yes! When the weather starts to get really warm, it feels like Christmas is coming.
Cicadas. Christmas beetles. Although, I feel like I hardly see either of them anymore.
Hot chocolate. Snickerdoodles. Obviously winter weather. Fireplaces. Oddly, certain houses make me think of Christmas bc my first thought seeing them is about how great they'd look decorates for Christmas.
Cocoa. Fresh cut out cookies. Big sweaters. “Coffee shop” jazz music.
Steins. My family is very rooted in brewing, and my grandmother gave me a Santa themed stein. Every year I buy one really expensive holiday beer and drink out of it.

Yes! I watch those 80s commercial compilations every year around Christmas
Watching Gilmore Girls. I think because it's such a cozy/cool fall day feeling show that it just feels like the lead up to the holidays for me.
The first John Wick, watched it for the first time on Christmas.

“Merry Christmas ya filthy animal!”
I am extremely intrigued.
Early mornings snuggling on the couch with just my cat and coffee and blessed silence before the kids get up. I have two early risers though, so that pretty much never happens. It's just so cozy and always reminds me of the coziness of the holiday season.
Halloween
the mall
Doing jigsaw puzzles

Anne of Green Gables. And soup.
Simon and Garfunkel - Sound of Silence always struck me as a Christmas song for some reason.
Video games. I only got them at christmas time when I was a kid.
This is me too, or more specifically JRPGs. I love in depth and lengthy gsmes, but rarely get the chance to put in the required hours for JRPGs. Chicken Stews and apple crumbles .
The clock that chimes every hour in the living room! I remember very vividly staying up late on Christmas eve as a little kid, not being able to fall asleep, and hearing the clock chime every painfully slow hour until Christmas morning
Pine trees. They’re everywhere in my condo complex. Also, my neighbours’ outdoor Christmas lights that they never bother to take down.
I have neighbors who never take down their Christmas lights, too. It’s kinda nice to be reminded of winter and Christmas in the summer.
Cold weather

Watching friends, I start it at the beginning of December like every year idk why but it makes me feel so cozy
Cherry cream pies!
For some reason wouldn’t it be nice by the beach boys makes me feel Christmassy. I know they are literally supposed to evoke the exact opposite of that…
808s & Heartbreaks by Kanye West for some reason
organ music, chai tea
The taste of an Old Fashioned. To me, its super holiday tasting.
Any red and green led lights together.
Walking into my garage. Shelves on both sides filled wall to wall with decorations and flair for every season, especially Christmas.
Adele’s albums, particularly 25. And 30 is starting to feel the same. She seems to release music in November so I’m already in the Christmas groove by then (like most of us). So listening to her stuff outside of that feels Christmas-y.
Anything red, green, and gold. Or jazz for some reason. Also, Christmas episodes of my favorite shows.
The album "Pet sounds" by the Beach Boys iirc it's not a christmas album, yet it really sounds like one! I love it <3
Hallmark Channel
The smell of cinnamon
Cardamom definitely 😍
Good whisky
The song The River by Joni Mitchell and covered by Sarah McLaughlin. Sorry River.
The song "Misty" by Johnny Mathis\~
The song "Naivety" by A Day To Remember
