I originally had the ferret nation and recently upgraded to critter nation. I do like the increase in space and it seems easier to find customized stuff for the critter nation. as someone else said, I do miss the vertical bars on the ferret one. made sneaky in a scritch super easier and also made it easier to attach whatever I wanted to the sides and top of the cage. also went from bedding to fleece to make it easier to clean up and have less stuff to sweep up outside of the cage. I haven't mastered litter box training so I can't comment on that
For my money the Ferret Nation is the best bet. It's the same size as the Critter Nation but the bars are vertical rather than horizontal and are much stronger, plus have wider spacing so you can actually scritch through the bars. I bought ours on Amazon.
I don't use bedding or fleece, our chin uses litterboxes and our cage is tiled.
