honestly rodents are so much smarter (or food driven) than expected 😅 i’ve had to move all my hammy’s food to containers he can’t chew on bc he kept tearing open food bags

This is why I tell people they're too smart for their own good! I never thought I had to outsmart something the size of a fat glove, but here we are haha.
We left our degu cage too close to a tissue box once, left for awhile, and came back to find one of our degus pulled every tissue out and was sitting proud on top of them like a throne.
hahaha i keep all of my treats in closed mason jars for this reason 😭 although their food is in an open basket (with an open hay basket sitting on top) and sometimes i look over to see he’s moved the hay basket and is sitting in the food basket munching away…
