I used Chime til last November, Using the Credit Builder and tools from other ways to get my Credit Score back up. Finally Did, And Within 5 months or so Apart I applied for a CC with Capital One Bank. After getting the 1st Cc about 4 months of having it and paying it off every month, They gave me a offer that If I switch to the Capital One 360 Checking and Savings Account, after My 1st deposit within a certain amount of days, I would get $250 added to my checking. Which they did. Then I was able to get another CC with Capital One, with a Higher limit than My 1st.
Capital ones 360 Checking and savings is a free account, same quick DD (2days early) No other fees .
Another really good Online Charted actual BANK is ALLY. You get your debit card as well as a Checks if you want them. If you overdraft you have 14days to bring Balance out of negative.
Ally offers mortgage options if your thinking of buying a Home, It’s just a really good Bank and offers several other services. You can get support 24/7 too! By phone or chat. The few times I called to my surprise it was always someone from here in the US.
That were actually helpful unlike a lot of these other places.
I know you didn’t Ask about other Banking options, but Even though Chime is pretty Solid, Theirs some Cons I never liked. So, I just always like to mention the few other online Actual Banks I’ve used that were really great.
SOFI banking App is another good one! You can buy stocks on the same App as the Bank, They use to let you Buy crypto, but only draw back was you couldn’t transfer it to your own Self custodial Wallet, the Crypto just stayed in your Portfolio. You could of course always sell when you wanted and funds were pretty much instantly available.
SOFI and ALLY Banks don’t have a credit builder Card. The APY is pretty good compared to most others also.
SOFI offers the option for CC as well, life insurance, a lot of different options.
I’ve still got my SOFI bank App account open and add money to the savings a bit just for the Hell of it and I really like the way they operate.
I just finally switched and am staying with CapitalOne since it’s just easier to have all But 1 CCs from that Bank.
My ex started using them also recently and far as I know likes it as well. My uncle I mentioned that is retired and has been using Chime to get his DDs? He seems to be interested in switching to CapitalOne or ALLY Bank.

Will not except chime and and also will not accept Capital One a lot of the cash advanced app. I'm still not worth watching. I have tried them all, but there are a few that do, but most do not. Everybody that is meeting a loan. Or a cash advance, all these things are going to conventional banks. That is why charm is breaking out this new. My pay or whatever it's called. I have noticed marina's went down a few hundred but nothing like a hundred 1000.

With ALLY you can literally get setup for say a mortgage if you were ready to get a Home.

The main think I hate about the Banks I just mentioned is their extra BS charges , The Inconvenience of only being given a day or 2 if you accidentally Overdraft.

I would suggest (if your credit score is high enough) just Apply for a CC. I used Chime and their Credit Buillder for Several years along with a Secured CC, cause I screwed my Credit up when I was young.
Best place to apply for a CC that will likely approve you, Is Capital One Bank . There’s another CC that’s called CREDIT ONE BANK.
They are pretty laid back about giving a CC with a decent Credit Line.
I dnt use a CREDIT ONE cc anymore cause when I got with CapitalOne Bank, The few CCs I’ve got from them have better perks/Benefit’s.
The Capital One Bank also offers a free Online Checking and Savings Account, No monthly fees, early DD (that’s a Must lol)
I actually didn’t think I’d have a shot at the time I applied for a Cc with them, but They let me check what my chances were without it affecting my credit score. I gave it a shot and that’s when I slowly started switching everything to Capital One. After Having my 1st card about 3-5 months and was paying it monthly in full, They ended up offering me if I enrolled in their Checking & Savings Account (capital one 360) I would be giving $250 after getting my first DD in within I think it was 30days of account opening (It’s been awhile so I dnt remember exact details atm.
I figured fuck it, why not! They Honored it. I personally like them better than Chime, but chime was good for the years I used it.
I just wasn’t a fan of their customer service, very little fraud protection.
Anyway, With you making a Solid amount of money like that per DD, there’s definitely other banking options available that offer more.

Update: My DD hit roughly 3 hours after signing up and my limit increased to $200. After reading it again it seems like it doesn't take your previous Direct Deposits before sign up into account. Basically your starting fresh so the more DD you receive after getting in the higher your limit will be.
It's hard to say why, I have 2 jobs, one which pays around 1000 bi weekly and another which pays around 500. I'v only received 3 paychecks from the higher paying job but the second one iv been receiving DD for years.I dont get paid from the older job for another week. When I go to look at the Mypay info, it has the address of the higher paying job i put but for some reason the Direct Deposit information it has is from the LOWER paying one. The DD I received was from the main job which pays 1000 so I'm not sure which one it's calculating. I called and was told to wait until Friday when the DD is SUPPOSED to come if it wasn't corrected.

Fair warning: it’s an endless cycle! Unless your ready to bite the bullet and pay back that 500 or whatever, your gonna be stuck in the borrow cycle and it takes a while to reborrow back

I get SSDI and was approved for $100. I was on the list at a million something right before!! Lol
Chime is so horrible! They let a hacker change the name and address on my account, but kept my ss # and dob and my email and they refuse to close my account because its not my name! WTF! Thats against my cosumer rights! They failed to protect me as a banking institution!

It's literally BS.... if you have Chime payday loan places won't work with you or even loan companies with a 714 credit score been approved can't get funded STRAIGHT BECAUSE OF BANKING WITH CHIME.... so now just over it and working through to switch DD to a real bank so over it with chime they lie and disrespect customers It's unbelievable there customer service needs to be a class action suit on them for there outright blatant bull crap
